10 years later and I’m still upset that the 11-5 Saints had to travel to the 7-9 Seahawks for a wildcard playoff game. Arguably the start of the Saints miserable playoff reputation.
I'm certain that the Atlanta Falcons that had the best record in the NFC would have preferred to have played that Seahawk teams in the Divisional Game instead of the wildcard Green Bay Packers w/Aaron Rodgers, but the Seahawks were the "4th" seed since they won their division while the Packers were the "6th" seed. That Packers team won the Super Bowl.

Tim Tebows 2011 broncos holds a special place in every broncos fans heart. That season was magical and was a beautifully ugly showing for Tebow, but was an ultimate underdog story.

I file the 1991 Jets under "weird": that team had talent everywhere, but no one knew at the time Bruce Coslet's Jets style (either fielding a team that underachieved record wise by contrast to their rooster and play-to-play, or be a real El stinko of a group). The 1991 Jets controlled the clock and played stout run D, but Ken O'Brien didn't throw touchdowns, Pat Leahy was at the end (actually, the 1991 Patriots were okay, even flirting with the playoffs a little), and Blair Thomas was written off (some fumbles, lack of carries; Thomas just wasn't a special back, looks to me like the scouts overvalued him).
Something that I did like about Tebow that year in Denver was that he played his best football at the end of the game. He was amazing in the two minute offense and I'm not a fan of him.

As a Bears fan, I still remember that awful loss to Tebow and the Broncos. The Bears offense was deplorable, and if I recall Marion Barber made a horrifically dumb play near the end of the game where he went out of bounds on a run late in the fourth quarter. Had he stayed in bounds the Bears would've been able to milk the clock and seal the win. I also remember Da Bears losing to that awful 2010 Seahawks team. I was in Disney World at the time and watched the game from the ESPN Zone there. What an embarrassment.

As a Bears fan, I still remember that awful loss to Tebow and the Broncos. The Bears offense was deplorable, and if I recall Marion Barber made a horrifically dumb play near the end of the game where he went out of bounds on a run late in the fourth quarter. Had he stayed in bounds the Bears would've been able to milk the clock and seal the win.
I also remember Da Bears losing to that awful 2010 Seahawks team. I was in Disney World at the time and watched the game from the ESPN Zone there. What an embarrassment.
If the Giants win and Washington loses, we can have a 6-10 division winner. Wow.

On the other end of this, one of the best teams to NOT make the playoffs: 1975 Oilers. Finished 10-4, and three of those four losses were by a *combined* total of 13 points.

As seahawks fan growing up i remember watching the game and hearing HOW we were the worst team not in NYC but nfl. And it's been gratifying to not be counted out no more and higher caliber team (i don't wanna think of our losses this year tho) its just nice and maybe soon the jets will get theyre chance like us and the browns, praise baker Mayfield

While not the LoB, that 2010 Seahawks roster was coming together. Kam chancellor, Earl Thomas, Walter Thurman, Arron Currey, and Chris Clemons. They we're learning Pete's scheme and the Hawk Tackle he brought from USC was beginning its revolution we have seen take over the sport at all levels.
That was 1993 when buddy Ryan punched Kevin gilbride who was offensive coordinator. It wasn’t a playoff game they had two byes back then so it was week 18 but it wasn’t a playoff game. There’s a whole nfl documentary on that punch and how it affected a already fucked up oilers team. EDIT: the jets did make the playoffs and lost to the oilers he’s right about that but the whole buddy Ryan punch occurred in 1993 and not 1991. That’s what messed me up. And coincidentally the jets played the oilers the last game of their 1993 season.
