Thank you. You were a great speaker. I learned a lot from you. Because you are real, you have been through rough edges, but you found a way to end up in a better place, utilizing your inner talents, accepting your flaws, but embracing your strengths!
Roger Kent Grosswiler Jr Absolute respect for doing this talk. I've struggled with minor internal battles in comparison to what you have had to deal with, yet you managed to get on a TedTalks stage and let the world into your experiences. Big ups, Sir, and keep on keeping on.
Your nerves and self-doubt had you speaking without enough pauses for awhile, and the story took a bit to wind up, but it wind up it did. Your delivery got better as you went. What you had to say was great, and you put it across with humanity and humility, and that's a beautiful thing. The cool thing is, the way your delivery got better and more punctuated as you persisted at it actually reinforced the point you were trying to make. Thanks for the inspiring and moving talk, I'm going to take it to heart. It's not how you start, it's how you finish.
Well done, Kent! I am struggling right now, and your story today has helped me take another step...and try again. You have "helped someone" today. Thank you!
i was worrying about writing the wrong thing or it not being good enough but then i thought..wait a minute....so youve inspired me to write my first ever comment for a tedtalk and ive watched many over the years! I love the fact that you said you were worried about doing a tedtalk. It good to show vulnerabilities and be so human. Well done for how far you have come and good luck with the future. I believe you have got lots more good stuff still to come. Big love x
Thank you for telling your story - it is powerful, and will empower others to keep trying - including me. Who is trying to overcome my own inner demons, even though everyone thinks I am successful. In my head, I am not, and I try hard each day to become better, and try even harder to keep going. Life is a challenge, and your story is so motivational. I hope you are still doing really well.
And huh...he has a phenomenal story. When you seek to be the best version of yourself and you work hard at positive change, however hopeless your life may seem, great things will happen for you. And huh...seek to be the best version of yourself.
One of my favourites so far. I've listened to you several times. I think it takes a lot of bravery to get up and talk in front of a lot of people about your personal experiences with addiction. I love that you spoke of how you were afraid and went for it anyhow. Very inspiring. Thank you!!
Thank you. I am in self induced recovery and I needed this right now. I am my own worst critic and I am searching for ways to improve. I am meditating and writing insanely and the funny part is I started doing so to not go crazy. I want to do this. Thank you for your bravery, your honesty and sincerity. That's how you save a life. I hope that helps with your scale, Sir. Because you remind me that it's all mindset. And what we were doesn't mean it's all we have to be FOREVER. Bless you.
Thank you! I've told myself I'm a failure for soooooo long... Since junior high school really and im now 47... Im going to rage it with my painting, sewing, gardening and a few other things! Youve inspired me ...
It's something that I don't believe that I could get bored of listening to. That's the beauty of friendship isn't it, the ability to allow it to go down stream, but never lose a beat no matter how far one may actually be from the other. One day soon I will go for mine as well. God Bless You and Thank You!
I am so inspired by you, how ever your speech unfolded, it was one of the most authentic I've seen so far, don't listen to the noise my friend, you are exceptionally brave to share ALL of you with your audience and Us watching through vid, How many can say they'll speak in front of an audience about their most inner battles ??! Not many who fight to stay afloat after a serious drug addiction can undertake such an important and intimate task of allowing the world to enter their truest colors of dark unto triumph of unbelievable beautiful radiant colors, I commend you! your awesome! 🤗🙂
Well said! I haven't fought the drug addiction, but I can completely empathize with the feelings of self-doubt and the negative self-talk. Keep on keeping on!
Blaming everything on yourself and ignoring the fact that others try to oppress you is counter productive. Your biggest enemy might be yourself but that does not mean that you do not have plenty of other enemies who want to keep you down and humiliate you.
You could be your own worst enemy. Fighting with yourself could be a hard battle. An escape from your own ego could be the only path leading to happiness and life, and to disempower your grief and loss, to truly live in the discomfort...
Woow what an inspiration talk. Always yourself is your first enemy as you said as you plan to do things there will be to many excuses to pull u back and always have a tremendous argument in your brain. Thanks for sharing your great success and push me to the right path of great motivations
God bless you man, you have inspired me today. Good on you. Love you're art work and your bravery to be really real. All the best to you and thank you :) X
So glad to listen & share this on g+ & fb too, I wish u well & hope sharing helps in ways I can't. I too will follow & share in pay-it-forward hommage as I need to explore & live as never before, building solid foundations instead of wading in quicksand destruction... GL.
Yeah, inspiring, courageous, I can feel where you’ve been, I’d love to have these guys telling me to try something new. Writing this, I realize I have you to inspire me from now on. Thank you for sharing 🙂
I'm happy for you, Kent, that someone gave you a fair chance. Seems to me that people with criminal backgrounds and past drug problems get more respect and fair opportunity than me. Not that I would want to keep it from them, just wonder it's kept from me. Maybe it's because I expect to be treated with respect and not be bullied -- I guess drug addicts and criminals aren't seen as a threat or a target for bullying. Lucky them. Hey everyone -- in America you are so much better off being a criminal or drug addict rather than speaking the truth and doing a good job for fear of jealousy from others! There's some solid advice for you.
I didn't have enough time in the talk to go into the endless doors that were shut in my face upon first getting out of treatment while trying to find a job. For a long time I worked construction for mt stepdad. Probably wouldn't have been hired if it wasn't for family.
Almost appears as a simple speech, it has great encouragement. It’s always going to be best to see the cup as almost full! Great job! I hope some day soon to share a story of thought provoking motivation also. I want to experience looking into an audience and doing my very best from the heart not a script. SantosJr
Hey there! You are AMAZING!!! I am in amazement of your work... how can I get some of your ART to purchase? I am just a low key home taught Artist just the same and you have inspired me to keep on going with some of it! I have ALSO been known to hang out in some of the rooms with bad coffee.. hehehe so your story really helps me today.. take care Brother:)

Jessie Wheeler well said 🙂
Yo Jessie, what helps a lot is the work of Professor Kristin Neff. It is a hard work...trial and error...
Thank you! I've told myself I'm a failure for soooooo long... Since junior high school really and im now 47... Im going to rage it with my painting, sewing, gardening and a few other things! Youve inspired me ...
So, keep failing yourself to get the success you want. Got it! 👍 To you win, you got to lose.
Love it! Thank you - so authentic

Yup, needed to let go of it and something else, now ready to be the ultimate me.
I am working on destroying my ego. I am taking my time to start learning how.

Dude, get to the point...
What a boring talk.
This is one of best Ted talk, try to catch his points and also don't look at the number of views
