Another shocking truth: they most likely never intended to burn London down, which you said in the beginning of the video. Some Pro-noble chroniclers later claimed that, but it is not to be taken seriously. Londoners supported the peasants en masse, and took the charge in burning down the Savoy themselves, it's absurd to think they wanted to burn their own homes
I thought about referring to this actually, I would have liked to be able to say no other poll tax was introduced before the one in 1990 but I couldn't be sure!
@@RadicalHistory Britain does has a rich history of radicalism, protest and outright revolts. I enjoy listening to your channel, long may it continue. Looking forward to a vid on Peterloo next.
Thanks Dave. We're very much in 'experimentation mode' at the moment to see how different ways of keeping people watching to the end. But yes I appreciate how that might have seemed a bit contrived.
Agreed - I don't mind a clickbait-y title but the clickbait presentation style in video (and pleas to keep watching) don't suit you and nearly made me stop watching the video despite knowing I like your stuff! You deliver genuinely unique content in a clear, engaging and intelligent manner - be yourself :-)

Think we need a peasants revolt now tbh!
Yes let's look at the wealth and power of the people in government
Good video. Particularly liked Sir Thomas Greycat, leader of the Wake me when it’s over rebellion
HAHA!
The similarities to modern life are strikingly similar.
Loved it! Very well-presented!
Thank you!
Love it. Keep them coming.
This is Excellent! I hope many see it!
Loved this! Looking forward to seeing more.

The Poll Rax riots in 1990 was the modern day version of the Peasants Revolt.

@@paulthomas2178 Peterloo is exactly what the next video is about!
I prefer the style on the last video. The content was still good but it did feel a little like a click bait page - you'd not belive number 3...

@@saragowen994 Thank you Sara - really useful feedback!
How unwoke of them to slaughter a few Flemings!
Essex girls rule!
Fascinating and informative video but the sound effects are annoying.
Thanks Stephen! We'll be reducing these a bit for the next one.
...sounds like what should happen today.
Serfdom eh.Sounds a lot like slavery to me. This is what our ancestors had to fight against in order to get that white priveledge we so love.
I wish to see this type of revolts in medieval fantasy rather than the " restore the rightful king"trope
