Mother Nature's Masterpiece - The Million Dollar Mine And It's Beautiful Minerals

- For this mine exploration, we start by driving our old Willys Jeep up a rugged canyon. When we start to climb up out of the canyon on a switchback, we encounter a rock slide blocking the road. After clearing the slide with a shovel, we were able to continue on towards the mine. Once at the mine, we noticed right away an incredible mineral outcropping. It was very colorful and looked like a work of art with multiple minerals present. Once inside the mine, it was clear that this was something special. The colorful mineral vein was present throughout the entire mine. We haven't seen one like this before or after this one, out of about 2000 mine workings that we've been in. This is a re-edit of a video that was previously released. We hope you enjoy seeing this masterpiece of nature.
Here is a link to another very colorful mine, which also has some great artifacts:
• Four Level Copper Mine...

Hi John and Catherine. Ot really is a beautiful mine, and we're happy that you enjoyed it. Thanks for the nice comment and for the blessing. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍🎄😊
Kinda funny how the miner who wrote 6/23/23 on the face didn't think at the time that recording the century might matter someday.
That is interesting to think about. If it lasts another 100 years, it will be even more interesting. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Merry Christmas to you both.
Thanks, Professor. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍🎄
Beautiful mine. And what a road is right.
Hi David. The mine is spectacular, and the road is a bit challenging. Thanks for the comment!👍😁

The minerals here are great. That old Jeep is a riot. '62 CJ5. Merry Christmas to you, too. Thanks for commenting!👍🎄
I wonder what those blue minerals are? Oh wait...I saw Tom painting them...Lovely little mine. That's about my speed, ten minutes underground, no vertical shafts into the monster pit, no toxic air, then quickly back out driving around in the jeep. Merry Christmas you two. Feliz Navidad !
I believe it is called azurite. Associated with copper.
Hi Craig. I don't think the best artist could paint as well as these minerals look. This one is pretty tame, although you could still stub your toe. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍🎄🧑🎄
Short and sweet
Hi Phil. Thanks for watching!👍😁
Incredible colors! Thanks, T&J!! Enjoy the Holiday 😊
Hi Ralph. Yes, loads of colors here. Happy Holidays to you!👍😊

Great find T and J! It looks like your looking into a beautiful kaleidoscope! Merry Christmas!
Hi Doug. It definitely does look like a kaleidoscope. I used to love those as a kid. I wonder if kids still play with those. Probably just a kaleidoscope app on their phones. Thanks for the comment. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍🎄
Great looking Jeep, your's looks just a little older than mine.
Thanks, Desert Runner. It's a 1962 CJ5. I just pulled the engine and had it rebuilt last year. Here is more on the Jeep.

Hello Julie and Tom. I am always amazed at all the work these miners went through to get to these places they mined and the effort to bring all the equipment. When you showed the road you can see a lot of stacked rock.
Hi Stephen. You are correct. I think many times building the road to the mine and getting the necessary equipment and supplies hauled in was more work than the mining. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍😁
What beautiful colors, hope have a Merry Christmas ❤
Hi Linda. This one is pretty special. Glad that you liked it. Merry Christmas to you!🎄😊❤️
That ride up would have made me loose my breakfast! OMG! The view of the outcropping from the outside is incredible! Thanks Tom and Julie! Merry Christmas to all!
Hi William. Those mountain roads are all part of the game. I agree that outcropping is really something to see. Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas to you!👍🎄😊
Wow how beautiful is this. It has to be the most colorful mind I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing.❤
Hi Eddie. Isn't that mineral vein something special? Glad that you enjoyed seeing it. Thanks for watching!👍😁
Thank you Tom and Julie for another great year of mine adventures. No doubt you two are both out there somewhere deep in the middle of nowhere as I write this working on next year's season! Have a great Christmas and stay safe!

Thanks for sharing another amazing place with all of us Tom and Julie. We hope you guys have a Merry Christmas! 🎄
Hey Chyanne and Adam. You're welcome, and thank you for watching. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍🎄😊
Hello Tom and Julie. That has to be one of the most interesting mines I have ever seen. All the copper, zinc, Galena. And heavy sulfites perminating all the host rock. I would love to see it in person. Thanks again for another great video. And Merry Christmas to you and Julie. And I hope another great year of video's. Thanks again. Bob.
Hi Bob. It really is a special mineral vein. It probably has multiple metals present, as you said. Merry Christmas to you, and thanks for watching!👍🎄
What a beautiful mine! Some of it reminded me of photos of Jupiter or a Supernova. Thanks for taking us along. Take care of each other and be safe.
Hi Ed. It is a little other worldly in this one. You're welcome, and thank you for watching!👍😊
A wonderful explore Tom and Julie great colors in this one guys, have a lovely Christmas and best wishes to you both take care see you on the next one
Hi Keith. Glad that you liked the mine. It is a special one. Thanks for the nice comment. Merry Christmas to you, too.👍😁
what a beautiful landscape what a beautiful mine!
Aren't those minerals beautiful? The landscape is, too. Thanks for watching!👍😁
I wonder if a black light would have illuminated those minerals , so beautiful ?
We have a UV light but not on this one. Usually, a vein like this one doesn't fluoresce much. Here is a link to some minerals that do. Thanks for watching!👍😁
ruclips.net/video/4Juhec_dbYU/видео.htmlsi=GykSDQDkGMO99PCI
Beautiful colors, copper for sure, probably silver, maybe gold? It looks like a lot left behind, but maybe too low grade to mine? The old miners were pretty savvy about what to leave behind. I did see a glimpse of a date on a wall, looked like 1923.
Hi David. The minerals here are amazing, and there are probably several metals present. You're correct that the miners knew exactly what was worth taking and what was not. If it's too much work to make a profit, they wouldn't bother. Yes, 1923, 100 years ago. Thanks for the comment!👍🎄
Beautiful. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and yours. Be safe and love what you're doing. We love it.
Thanks for watching, SS. Glad that you enjoyed the explore. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, as well!👍😁🎄
I hope you're having a relaxing time 😎 I enjoyed seeing the mineralization again. All the rock is sharp and rough with what seems like pieces cemented together. I don't know geology so it's whatever. It's fascinating to look at. 😎
Hi Rick. My sister in Minnesota says winter is taking the year off this year. That usually means it will last until May. Glad that you enjoyed seeing this colorful mine. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
I am always amazed at what that little Jeep is capable of. Happy New Year!!!!
Hi Paul. Yes, the little Jeeps are really quite capable off road. Not so fun on the highway. Happy New Year!🎆😊
Wow, what colors, thanks for sharing.
Hi Mick. Yes, the colors are pretty wild. You're welcome, and glad that you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas!
And a belated Merry Christmas to you two@@TomandJulieMineExploring
Tom I just love you guy's just a line telling you I appreciate your time investing in these from Ohio Rock on and Merry Xmas you 2❤

@@TomandJulieMineExploring thanks 🎄🎄no worries Tom & Julie 🎁
that was a great christmas present, thank you. that does not look like the same jeep? Julie is not wearing her normal brown carhart jeans.Merry Christmas to both of you, be safe.
Hi Tony. Yes, this is a different Jeep. I guess her brown jeans were too dirty to put on for this one. Merry Christmas to you. Thanks for watching!👍🎄
One of the best yet. Thanks
You're welcome. Glad that you enjoyed it!👍😁
It's great that you had a shovel to clear the debris and have a safe ascent. Thanks for the adventure!
Wr always carry a full-size shovel on the Jeep and a collapsible one in our pack when underground. I can't tell you how handy they both have been. You're welcome, and thanks for commenting!👍😁
Thanks for the beautiful trip... Merry Christmas
Hi Bob. You're welcome. Glad that you enjoyed it. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍🎄
That is a beautiful mine!
Hi Rob. Yes, it really is quite a mine to see. Thanks for the gift once again. We appreciate it very much. 💰💰👍😁
Merry Christmas Tom and Julie!
Merry Christmas, Fred!👍🎄🧑🎄
I love seeing old CJ's still being used! Everyone has a TJ or a JK out there these days.
The old Willys is a riot but also a handful. Power nothing. It really makes you appreciate power steering and brakes. Did I say brakes? The little brakes on this barely work, and they are almost new. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Hey I like this jeep better. Nice short mine. Merry Christmas friends
Hi David. This old Willys is a riot to be in. Glad that you enjoyed the explore. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍🎄
Well that was certainly a colorful mine and worth an explore, well done again you two and have a great New Year. Cheers
Hi Mary and Brian. It's one of the most amazing mineral veins that we've ever seen. Glad that you enjoyed it. Happy New Year to you both. Cheers! 🎆👍😊
Its amazing how well preserved those mines are, here in galice Oregon they are so rotten you don't venture too far into one.
Hi Timothy. Yes, that's very true and is the reason that we don't do much mine exploring in Oregon. Many of the desert mines are in almost perfect condition. There could still be a cave in, but the timbering and artifacts are pristine. Here is a playlist to some of our favorites. Thanks for commenting!

Whached it, so far seen every one,,missed a few of the older ones, working on it
🎄Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ☃
Thanks, Dan. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍🎄
Merry Christmas, Tom & Julie, and a Happy New Year!
That little mine was so full of color, looks like silver and copper. I'm just guessing.
Hi Jimmi. This is one of the most mineralized mines we have seen. Merry Christmas to you too. Thanks for commenting!👍🎄
What a host of minerals. Looked like so many that they couldn't make up their minds which way to go.😊 Great explore. Do you ever worry about a turn around? Been their before. 😢 Yikes! Time to practice my mirror steering.
Hi Richard. Yes, so many minerals they probably didn't know which way to dig. With the short Jeeps I don't worry too much about turn arounds. Backing up very far is not fun. Glad that you enjoyed the explore, and thanks for commenting!👍😁
Being from Oregon, I'm surprised that you haven't done any mine exploring in the area around Mormon Basin, Malheur City and that area where last I knew there were still some active production on Dooley Mountain. In the 1950s my brother in law and friend did some illegal Winter mining in the that area which has even been dredged out in some areas. Last time I was through there about 30 years ago, there was some very active mining in Mormon Basis with the usual fences, gates and warnings that "trespassers would be SHOT"!
We only spend about four months each year in Oregon in spring and summer. The mines there seem to be very wet and in poor condition compared to the dry desert mines that we are used to being in. Also, we wouldn't want to get shot! Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Yes, they are VERY WET, that's why native Oregonians are born with web feet! I left there at the age of 19 so I could experience a DRY head for the first time in my life!@@TomandJulieMineExploring
Great videos throughout the year. Thanks guys and a Merry Christmas to you both.🎄
Hi Mark. Thanks for the kind words. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍🎄
the start of the video tell me how nasty the road is Julie is walking with the camera and Tom is driving, 😁Smart girl, neat color of rock inside, have a Merry new year and a Happy xmas.
Hi Bill. Yes, when Julie is walking, you know it's a tough road. The minerals in the mine are beautiful. Thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍🎄
I mean you play the guitar really well, love it
Thanks for the kind words, Timothy!🎸😁
What year is your CJ?
I have a 57 CJ -5 6volt Power nothing.
Good Fun!
This is a '62 12 volt. No power here either. Power steering by Armstrong. Lol They are a riot. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Great video
Thank you, Donald!👌😊
Wow that was picturesque! Thanks for taking all of us on that trip! Can you any minerals from those mines or look and don't touch?
If there is not an active claim on the mine and it's not in a national park, you are allowed to take minerals from the mines. You need to check the mineral claim status before doing so. Thanks for commenting!👍😊
Colorful mine. Are these mines abandoned because open pit mining is more profitable?
Hi Brian. These mines are mostly abandoned. There might be active claims on some. Most are on BLM lands. Most commercial mining today is open type mining, moving huge volumes of material and using machines to recover the precious metals to be able to be profitable. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Je suis avec vous ’façonnée par ces couleurs
Beautiful colors, Monique. ❤️😊
Million Dollar views!
For real. I love this area. The White Mountains of California. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Merry Christmas
Hi Darryl. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍🎄😁
Tom, why does Julie always have to get out of the Jeep to video you driving and walk to catch up? Oh, yeah, she's a lot younger than you! Love your videos. I can't believe you two have been in over 2000 mine works! Have a great Christmas and New Years and here's to more mines to explore in 2024.
Hi Bill. She's usually out of the Jeep because she doesn't like the steep cliff right out her window. No, you're correct. We can always use the Jeep footage. She is a lot younger than me, so I don't feel bad about her walking. Lol
We're glad that you enjoy our videos. We have been in a lot of different mines. Keep in mind that they have not all been huge named mines. Sometimes, we will visit 10 mines or more in a single day. For every one mine video we put out, we will go to an average of five mines as most of the workings are small and not very interesting. Thanks for the nice comment and a very Merry Christmas to you!👍🎄😁
Tom, until two years ago, my wife and I did a lot of traveling in our Ford F250 diesel 4x4 truck pulling a 28-ft 5th-wheel trailer. We got onto some pretty hairy off-road trails in the truck in the Eastern High Sierras and southern California deserts. My was like Julie, and she hated looking out her window and seeing a cliff drop off. She did not get out of the truck, but covered her eyes. LoL I did some natural cave exploring when I was younger, but never ventured into an abandoned mine more than a few hundred feet. I'll be 79 next month and I am not able to do a lot outdoor activities now. It's good you and Julie are doing explorations while your are in good health. We humans don't have an unlimited shelf-life. It doesn't take much, to put you out of an active outdoor life. Looking back, I wish I'd bought an old beater Jeep and done a lot more off-road exploring. Stay safe in them old mines!
@BillWCA Thanks for the detailed comment and for sharing part of your story. I'm glad that you got out there exploring when you could. My time for this is winding down. 👍😁
Awesome explore, is that a different Jeep? Happy Holidays to you guys...
Hi Peter. Glad that you liked the explore. Yes, this is a '62 CJ and the other a '94 YJ. Happy Holidays to you!👍😊
Magnifique mine ,j aimerai vous accompagner .je fais collection de petits minéraux. Merci de nous faire partager vos explorations❤
Hi again, Monique. This would be a good one to collect some minerals from. Where do you live? This is in California. Thanks for commenting!👌😁
Just left for DV !
Have fun, Dave. Let me know how it's going.
@@TomandJulieMineExploring Will do.
What Jeep is that? M38A1? This one is ex-military as shown by the 24 volt battery compartment. I had a M38A1 for desert exploring for several years. It carried a Marine trans/receiver radio. I could listen to BLM, Sheriff, and CHP radio calls.
Hi Francis. This is a '62 CJ5. I just painted it green so I can hide in the woods. No, really, I wanted a non shiny paint so the desert sun doesn't blind me coming off the hood. Your M38A1 sounds pretty nice. Glad that you've had the chance to play around in one. They are fun. Thanks for commenting!👍😁
Amazing colors Tom & Julie. Thank you. What part of California is that?
Hi Alan. The minerals here are unbelievable. This is in the White Mountains in the general vicinity of Chalfant. You're welcome, and thank you for watching!👍😊
Thank you very much.@@TomandJulieMineExploring
Wow, try that in a newer Jeep. 🙂
