    There was a tram that ran over wood towers down to where you are at. The tram came from two and a half miles away to the crusher you are at. The giant steel cable runs rusting on the ground much of the way. That site is the old Cooke City!

      Yep, I'm aware of the tram line that ran the canyon.are you aware the only reason that didn't get turned to wilderness is because of some new mineral discoveries made in the up ok the lol/daisy pass

    Casting looked like "IR" Ingersoll Rand. I'd guess an air pump for rock drills.

      @MontanaDirtRoads If I ever get the opportunity to move up to Helena I'll be going out exploring and prospecting. That one I'd open up with a Sierra blaster and a winch 😁

      @chrissaucier9386 gotta be careful with alot of these places, the patented claims are private property and ya can be charged with trespassing.

    Yes... But after all the court battles the mining company gave up the claims about 2 months ago, it will revert to national Forest.
