And it really is a shame to lose these noises, when realistically super and hyper cars could happily stay as they were and not cause global warming. Blanket rules as always, don’t make sense. By all means, make mainstream cars change to help the environment, clean energy and electric cars if we have to. But it’s unnecessary to kill off special cars.
Absolutely. It's hugely important how much pollution my Ford Focus puts out, because there are loads of them. With Ferraris the numbers are small enough not to matter. They should have an exclusion for low-volume manufacturers. (So, Porsche would still be screwed, but that's there fault for making SUVs.)
i was thinking about this through the whole video.. i am ruling out buying a new car and going with a 4 year old one just to avoid the ppf so manufactures are going to be losing a lot of sales if people like me want some sounds from their car
EPIC! Steve is a hero, both for having (and sharing) all 3 cars and for not speccing any of them in red! Muchos jealous, but thank you so much for sharing. Must have been a rather awesome day!
VERY WELL DONE. The split views were the only way to communicate those changes well. Straight forward, conversation style descriptions based on ample seat-time experience. No pathetic attempt to be “cool”, “hip”, or conversely, dorky. Thanks, I don’t want my time back.
One of my happiest life moments was briefly driving a Ferrari f430 Spyder. Just up and down my street, but I'll never forget it. That generation holds a significant place in my heart and imagination. Even though I'm mostly a 911 guy right now, the f430 is probably the only Ferrari I'd jump at if I had a chance.
What a great comparison... These supercars are iconic! At the end of the day the Challenge Stradale is still one of my favourites... The eco-movement helps us all to maintain to keep those cars running longer... Therefore the different way of thinking is much appreciated and we can drive or favourites cars longer... :-)
Great video. I owned a 2004 CS and I miss it every time I think about it. That sound is amazing and the video just doesn't do it justice. You need to be inside the car to really understand it. I was waiting for the interview with Steve. Did he decide to buy one? Did he enjoy the rawness and music of the CS over his other cars? I'm really curious what he thought. Great video. Thank you!
I've driven the "normal" 360 and the sound of the V8 was intoxicating, something you remember for the rest of your life. I can't imagine the sound of those special edition Ferrari V8s, they must be fantastic! Thanks for another great vid..
Very enjoyable video. That noise of the CS is exquisite. Very special. Not all about outright speed really, its the experience, which you clearly absolutely found intoxicating. Good on you Damian. Like your new web site too.
Thanks guys! I follow a lot of car you tubers. But I really love your content, I think your the best!! (Ok maybe together with STG) love your collection!! And can’t wait for new content and the new cars!!!
I like the mood of this video. Despite the fact, that some cars are older, nothing bad was said about it. Even when some design features were smaller or "not that good" compared to the newer ones, it was poetic descibed and put in place. Excellent video!
Owning a Scud I’m a bit biased. Of the same camp as a certain Chris Harris and would/did take the Scud over the CS just due to the “pants” transmission in the CS and the still modern speed of the Scud. Agree that a manual CS would be the pinnacle!! Great review!!
Great stuff. You guys have hit it out of the ballpark with this one (I don’t know what the equivalent in cricket is to this American saying). Shmee just did a triple Ferrari vid today. Cool cosmic coincidence. It’d be awesome to see both of your channels do a collab. I’m a Shmee fan too but I do appreciate the level of quality editing you incorporate into your vids unlike other auto ‘tubers. It hasn’t gone unnoticed. Keep doing what you’re doing. The views and subs will come. Just be patient.
TheCarGuys.TV U bet and yeah great edit/prod. Where I live I’m surrounded by the Hollywood machine. Not in the industry myself. How do you Brits say, “Not my cup of tea?” But I do think I have an eye for that kinda thing. In the vein of 3’s today, I like the transitions, variety of camera angles and steady camera. What I don’t like as much is other auto’tubers with their convenient one-cut approach with that swirling around they do whatever that swirling around thing is that they are constantly doing. Makes me feel sea sick after awhile. I know that it takes longer to put out vids by putting in that level of effort but it shows. Besides, I’d rather dine at the Ritz with TheCarGuys than at McDonalds with other ‘tubers. Oh, and you guys are funny too! But don’t cuss (for the kids). Your mum would agree. Cheerio, y’all!
Thank you for a very thorough review from someone who have driven both back to back. It appears the CS is more raw. I’m surprised the brakes are better on the CS.
Just keeps getting better and better week after week. Friday is my favourite RUclips day of the week waiting for you to drop the next cracking instalment. Damian you my friend are just brilliant and the access to cars and events and launches are second to none. This video and the cars in it has to be any Ferrari lovers dream come true, I hope you add a 430 “Scud” to your wonderful collection.
With 458 Speciale and soon Pista Spider in the garage I would have thought it would be one or other of the CS and the Scud - unless you are in a particularly completist mood. Which seems to be the conclusion you reached. Terrific video, btw. Keep them coming!! 👍
Proper video Damian..cheers! I was nodding in agreement with everything you were saying. Both epic cars of course but the CS is still the one. The hardcore variants aren't meant to be refined! CS gearbox adds to the experience of driving it. Also Scud noise sounds synthetic after a CS! Look forward to the next video. Cheers, Chris
Very useful vid. Split screen on differences between 458 Me 488 a great idea. Never been quite sure of the differences. Now I am! So thanks for this vid which had something rather unique to offer.
Epic comparison with epic cars. Great video again & such an education, well done. If I were even remotely lucky enough to own either, my preference would be the Challenge Stradale based on what I have seen. It really is a gem of a car & definitely a keeper! Cant wait for the next instalment 👍
“Grandad can still Dance”. Terrific Summation right there of the Challenge Stradale. Love your channel Damian. Think what this video says is just how special that sound and drive is. My money, which it isn’t, would never let go of the 360 special edition. Raw, visceral, brutal. One of the anchors to Ferrari lineage in your terrific garage and in keeping with The company’s core values. Great video as always !!
I absolutely love the simple steering wheel and rudimentary vents on the 360! I can't stand all the clutter you get on steering wheels nowadays. These Ferrari's look so good in silver! I particularly have always loved the rear lights on the Scuderia from day 1. While i do love the rawness of the earlier Ferrari's, the 458 Speciale & 488 Pista definitely have the looks and performance.
What an incredible video! I'm not sure I've seen a more absorbing 20 mins of content on RUclips. One question for you... have you seriously considered or ever been close to buying an Enzo?
It has to be the ultimate F series car in my view. Oh and I recently did the Fiorano and factory tour... very envious of he fact you've been able to take to the track! Loving the channel and looking forward to the next vid.
Great video as always, what a line up, the Scuderia was the Ferrari of my time and I absolutely love it. The Challenge Stradale probably looks abit better and sounds better though. Silver suits both of them so so well. Unbelievable.
Great comparisons. I reckon I prefer the looks of the 430 out of them all: it's a very close thing with the 458, but the 430 has a much nicer interior for me - always hated the vents in the 458 and the 488.
The Scuderia for me is a way better car, noticeably quicker. the CS a fun car though, but the Scud is more edgy, I felt scared driving it, where as the CS is a much tamer animal. raw in feel, but just doesn't have that edge of your seat sensation that the Scud. has.
Damo, thanks properly presenting the C.Stadale, had no idea why so wonderful no idea what everyone was on about. From a former 4200GT Cambiocorsa 'F1' rubbish gearbox Maserati owner
Awseome video guys! I was going to ask if you'd seen the converted manual Challenge Stradale on Seen Through Glass, then you referenced it on camera :) You guys should collaborate!
We did collaborate in the early days - Sam is one of the good guys who actually helps new RUclipsrs and has lots of good advice. Most of the others are standoffish, threatened and only speak to their mates
Sell the CS to me with a contract that I’ll sell it back to you for the same price after a year once you inevitably regret the decision and want it back 🤷🏻♂️
What a fantastic video. I love Ferrari’s but admit to not being very knowledgable on the variants. This video was very informative and I love your Challenge Stradale. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Very good video, as always. Someday, I’ll need a black / black Scuderia, a grey F 430 was my first Ferrari, unfortunately I sold it to a friend. Greetings from Germany.
Great reviews. Had the same sensation today. I drove behind a buddies UGR Gallardo. And lord, the sound of that twin turbo V10? But I did enjoy my measly 20k mile C6. Great car day.
Two of my all time favourite cars...but i have to say that I like the Scuderia a bit more. I love how brutal they are. (In the Scuderia you should stay flat on the upshifts, that will make the gear changes faster and will give you that brutal kick on the back).
What a great video. Thanks for that. I’d always thought the Scud would be a step up from the CS in lots of ways (except sound), but I trust your judgement. Makes me want a CS even more... ....isn’t there a red LHD one for sale in Burley 🤔 PS if I see Spike in the Malibu Kitchen next week I’ll say he should get you guys on.. 👍🏼
What a collection!!! I want. 😁😁😁😁 I formerly had a 360 spider but with a sport exhaust and you are so right. I prefer to say “sound” instead of “noise” though. It’s a connotation thing.
Having owned two of each of those, I agree with you. The performance difference isn’t much different for the Scud and it’s nowhere near as beautiful. The Scud is a fantastic car but the CS is just so special.

Good Video! You drove the Scud in Wet/Slipperymode, for the faster flat out shifts you need to go to sport, race,CToff etc. The shifts then are almost as fast as in a 488 GTB: That changes quite a bit of the experience driving the scud!: Also the manual says do not lift on upshifts. yes, it feels smoother on the upshift, but only because you know, that you just lifted the throttle. The car shits the same way. But you will always do the head-nod, because you dont know how long the shift is going to take! If you can, try it in race mode for the fast shifts.
Also in race mode, the fast shifts only happen if you are almost full throttle and up in the Revs. Keep the videos coming! Best videos about cars on youtube!
@@TheCarGuysTV that was a quick response. Ok, then forget what i just said. I thought about that as well, but because you can only see the slow shifts in the video i assumed you didnt change the mode! again ,great video. I find my scud a bit more entertaining then you i think, but then again, i never drove a 360CS ;)
Buy a Scud and convert your CS to manual.
You're welcome. Let me know if you'd like any other tips on how to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds.
