Leaving your hometown is a great way to grow, especially if it's a different region of your country or world. It's kind of scary at first, but you realize you can figure things out and experience new things. It will help your confidence and open your mind.
Yeah It’s really important especially if your vibe doesn’t match or it’s small. It’s just a lose lose situation. Bigger city that matches your vibe and what you want out of life is the way because you have so many more opportunities.

Everything honestly feels like it’s slowly turning into a blur
My grandma 80 even says she feels sorry for young people how difficult it is for us with everything. She said during the 60s it was extremely difficult for her as her mum died when she was few weeks old and her dad died when she was only 12 and she had to survive somehow. Oh yeah she also suffered from epilepsy and other health issues but she managed to get married and give birth to 3 daughters but also lost 2 due to miss carriage but never came up and lived from month to month. But my grandparents managed to have a joyful life experienced many things and had fun even though the times were horrible. But my grandma has confirmed times right now are worse than before and it’s sad because many people are committing sucide because of it. We need to do something about this and stop the rich from getting richer!
I dunno, it's something else to be blissfully unaware back then, vs. being constantly confronted with everything now via social media. Fear is being pumped into minds more now, compared to back then
the solution at a country level is stop voting leftist/democrats/socialism.
I was born in a beatifull country until socialism was voted for almost 4 decades... and here we are in a devastated country that had the potential to become a first world country.
A month ago (finally) people realized how terrible socialism is and this time the majority voted for a change, republican side, free market and cut goverment all that is possible.
So far so good, it will take years to recover but we are on the right (no pun intended lol) track now.
As a Torontonian with two degrees living paycheck to paycheck I approve of this message.

2.its a scary world out there and i don't know anyone outside of Oklahoma
3.i know people here and they know me
4.i want to accomplish big goals in my hometown because i want to make God,my family, and everyone else in my home town proud

im glad you talked about the main reason why everyday people are soo mad and depressed, the worst part is that people have to take on way more hours at work or get a second job or third job just to get by which leaves you with less time to enjoy life.
Most people i work with say they cant get by with just 40 hrs a week.
what sad reality we live in where 40 hrs a week is no longer livable...

Im from the UK. I have a general feeling of hopelessness about the future as the cost of living is so high. Im 22. Even though i have a degree i cant find a job remotely close to the UK average. The ones i have found since graduating expect lots of unpaid overtime. I still live with my parents to save money but i feel like a child as a result. I feel like im waiting for my life to begin but i cant see a way out.
Well, everyone feels kinda hopeless in their twenties and it's normal because we have to acquire as much knowledge as possible, so if you want to gain real education and then change your life, Join the real world.

Same here and it bloody sucks things didn’t work out with my ex so I had to move back with parents and since then I been stuck. I been fixed on moving out and for past years I been investing and saving in monk mode. I really hope it pays off soon because I’m losing my sht and I feel like a loser while even she moved towns and there is still be stuck with parents
My hometown is dead to me, I can't relax among my neighbours since most of them lie most of the times and have a habit of asking me for money so they can go off drinking and smoking at my expense. I pray I eventually move from the neighborhood I'm in. There's no worth talking to now that I know what they're really all about.
They fooled me in the past, I won't let them do it again.
Its not uncommon now due to living situations and cost of everything for people to live with famuly or parents even up to their 30s. The only thing I genuinely think can start to get people getting ahead is some personal business or investing (maybe savings if you can?) Its just rough man. Can totally empathize with your situation even here in the US.

Calling out a real problem, the fact that its not just me/us guys feeling like failure, With cost of everything these days it so extremely stressful to break free. I'm being coached by TNL right now, Liam helping out, making discoveries that I have to move if i want the life I want, Your advice of letting go and moving, and what happens if you don't as well. Thanks for sympathizing about the whole journey being hard, and some of the feelings I am feeling trying to move to the life I truly want.
Everyone seeming like their ahead of me all the time, information overload, all the factors. I don't even know who I am yet, what I am doing, or what I am capable of. But working at becoming ok with those facts in themselves, and just progressively trying to take steps forward in solving each issue one at a time.

I resonated to this video so much. As a fellow Ontarian it feels like a majority of the people here live to work, and it's making society feel so isolated. I don't feel any sense of culture, or community here like I did back in the day. I had been backpacked SE Asia last winter, and I was in such a better state of mind over there. Of course I saw life through rose coloured glasses while travelling, but it was hard to find any reasons why living back in Canada other than my family and friends was the better choice. Superior healthcare, non processed foods, low living cost, overall nicer people, entertainment, weather, not as much devision between people. I could go on and on. Glad you're spreading the word, I hope the west can turn around for the better in the coming years.
This came at the right time for me, Denmo! Feel the exact same. I just got back to New Zealand after 2 weeks in Phuket Thailand and fell in love with the place. I've been to other countries but have lived in NZ all my life and have had the epiphany that it's unfulfilling for me now. There's not much left for me to experience here I think. I've started learning Thai and am working hard to get a visa to stay longer next year. Until then - these holidays - it's suffering the short term suck for hopefully long term gain and a "new life".
Hey mate, I'm from NZ as well. I just returned from a one-month holiday in AU, and I can't resist going back. I've given notice at work and for my rent - I'M LEAVING. Everything in AU was so much more affordable. I received a 1.5x raise offer to do the same job I currently do here in Auckland, and the rent will be 200/300 bucks cheaper, so I can finally afford to buy a investment house there.
Don't give up, mate. Follow your heart; if a place doesn't make you happy, you have to leave. We humans are travelers.
Not to mention, people are much happier there. It feels like everyone either hates you, uses you, or just really sucks here.

Every year I came back from college for Christmas and it used to be great. See old school friends, driving through the hometown village, knowing that I still have that comfy connection to my home and it’s surroundings. This year, it’s almost opposite. Some friends are here, some aren’t. I wanna see them but kinda don’t (cba). There’s no snow, just rain and wind. Bored but want to do something. It’s just a weird weird period, never had this before. Christmas is in 2 days and in all honesty I’m not bothered by it at all. It’s almost like I’ve grown up and just want to get that next motorbike, or make a company or read something new or learn something exciting, go on holiday, go for a long hike and get some awesome photos. It’s almost like home just won’t enable me to do those things like I imagined it to do so :(
I didn't want to come back to Ontario, especially at this time of year, but I have to get my driver's license renewed and I don't really live anywhere else as I've been travelling around Europe. They're taking their time so it looks like I'll have to be here for an entire month and I am STRUGGLING. This place sucks so bad.

Denmo if you read this comment on this thread I am glad you have acknowledge the problem that is plaguing in today's society. We are in a mental health and financial crisis. I live in the U.S. (west coast southwest region) and things are not getting better here - I believe you've heard of the migrant situation and yes it's an absolute nightmare of what's happening to our border. I don't know the solutions Denmo, but I pray to God everything gets better and heal all wounds that all of us are experiencing. The Anti-social is common and the sad part is we are all social creatures, but nobody wants to hear our problems. This country used to stand for tradtional values, morality, high character, compansionship, and sacrificing; I guess those days are over.
Alot of people are completely self motivated or just trying so hard to survive that they don't even care about socializing. Its hard to hear, and the economy is the main reason. Pre pandemic and before everything financially started going up in flames, the overall sentiments I got were far more positive.
My work cancelled our Christmas party this year for the exact same reason. We had a profitable year as well so us employees feel like it had to be another reason
I believe we are gonna have to get use to the idea of multi geneational house holds or buying smaller cheap dumpy houses.
I got a lot of family up in surrey ,BC i always have a good time out there it's nice to get away from your hometown even though I never lived in the city I lived in central valley California

I don’t know why more people don’t want to do something with their life, I know I’m not the only one here wondering why no one around me has this mindset of wanting to be something more not just working a 9-5 “living” like shit, like a slave. We need to raise these people up, show everyone that if we all put in the work and believe in a better life, chase our goals to the ends of the world and creating harder to reach ones, helping so much more since like it or not money is a very important tool and you will help way more people with it than without it. We are the ones here that haven’t given up, or gave up and found our flame to keep going, it is basically up to all of us to try and salvage what we got before it’s too late, good luck with whatever it is you plan on pursuing, and good fucking job for not giving up like most have.

I never liked Christmas. My parents divorced when I was kid and made me decide who to spend Christmas with each year. So I'd usually just run away. And because there are no stores open and all of my friends would be with there families I'd have nowhere to go, and so I'd usually end up in an empty parking lot or an abandoned house somewhere. Running away became sort of a fucked up Christmas tradition. The worst part is that I still do this to this day. This Christmas, I'm going to ride my dirt bike over to a rock quarry, have a few beers, and hope I don't end up in jail.
I definitely feel it. I actually had a date yesterday and it went great and all and yet today it feels lonely. The vibes are definitely off and it doesn’t feel like christmas. I live west of LA and yeah things are the same here
I feel the same way this year it doesn't feel like Christmas at all even when relatives come to visit. You mentioned you live west of LA, how has your experience thus far been? I live in SoCal but in the East region, and yeah it feels lonely it seems almost every young man is going through this.
That's why I never got to apartment in a city to pay rent. Rather, I went to countryside home with zero rent , zero morthgage, firewood in forest, be your own man.
