Proud companion to a SK5. Haven't experienced anything like it in my life. It's outstanding. Makes you smile cry and laugh at times. Most stunning tone, fundamentally strong with gorgeous colour. For audiophiles here, if you can imagine what a tube amplifier does to high fidelity audio. A Shigeru does to every day pieces. My most life changing instrument. Nothing like them. Stage, concert or home. Especially at home. Just gorgeous to play to listen to and experience and stunning to look inside.
Excellent comparison with a tube amplifier! Truly unique and vibrant sound, unlike any other. Cheers to you enjoying your piano for many years to come!
@pianovertu thank you. I shall definitely cherish it. Out of the entire SK lineup I think the SK5 has the most balanced tone. Again since I am also an audiophile, and a critical listener, I find that for the right size room, the SK5 has just the right amount of warmth, power, and clarity, in the bass and completely transparent and revealing across the entire octave range. The SK3 is also a beautiful instrument and while the 6 and 7 are gorgeous.. they are powerful, and definately better suited for large projection. The 200cm SK5 can rival most 210 or 212cm grands in ability and power. The action and regulation is jaw dropping. Imagine, I can voice a ppp on the 5th finger of my left hand while the thumb of the same hand is at mf .. it's just phenomenal.
I own a SK3 in Singapore and it’s super rich piano that I have ever enjoyed. Many of my guests enjoy the voice of the piano.
I love those pianos so much! I prefer them over many others including a very famous brand that starts with S
