Happy 2024! the materials list and the links for purchase is here: bit.ly/49cD8V3 these are affiliated links =) once again, if you can wait for longer shipping time. I recommend to get from Jackson's Art for better price.
Thanks for the video and list! The Faber-Castell kneadable eraser is great for people who might have hand issues, like arthritis. I have found it to be very pliable and doesn't hurt my hands when I use it.
I bought the PHIVE light back in 2021 when you recommended it and it's been terrific! I also bought your recommended mechanical pencil and that's been fine--might try the one you use now just to add to the collection.
Thank you Eric for sharing your painting set up and materials. It was very helpful to hear your specific reasoning for the materials you use. I never paid much attention to the lighting as I didn’t know how to select the appropriate fixtures! I loved how you quickly compared watercolor brands of specific colors….. really enjoyed your video🌞
Excellent. I like my John Pike palette. I use white plastic lids from food packaging to contain areas of wash in mixing area. Ive also seen artists use caulk to make a small wall .
Thank you for this visit to your studio and watercolor workspace. It was delightful to find I have and use much of what you shared for materials (including your brush set....it is wonderful!). Also many new tips and clever ideas I will be exploring (lighting and paper blocks). You bring such good stuff to my watercolor world including messages for mankind.
Eric, thank you for your advice on watercolor work planning and techniques. That really speeds up my transition from Chinese ink to western watercolor painting. Salute to your generosity to share with us your experience. Happy Chinese New Year!
Wow, what a well planned, thorough and informative video. Thank you for taking the time to explain and show reason for your workspace set up. I found it very useful. Happy New Year to you and yours as well.
You have the Universal Pike Palette. The one in the picture you popped up on the screen is the 'big well' palette that has wells on a short side and both long sides and square wells in the corners. I prefer your model that has wells on one long side and both short sides. Thank you for another great video.
Happy New Year...This was helpful, as always. I started using Bao Hong during COVID when I couldn't get Arches, and I still use it, thanks to your recommendation.
Nice, well organized, compact work area. I prefer the blue, reusable shop towels to paper towel - slightly dampened with spray they have better control and absorption. Just a personal preference.
How long do you use the rag that you use to absorb water from brushes. I see many artists using rags or sponges but they never talk about this. Do you clean and reuse? How do you dispose of the rags once you replace them?
This is a beautiful set up 😮. May I ask! Is the tiny house the whole studio or do you live there too? Because if it’s all for 5he studio, it’s a fantastic idea.
Eric, i have only 30 minutes after day job and family...is it possible to paint in watercolour in such short time... because watercolour needs thinking timeand cant stop in between.please comment
You can do something small and simple. And it is also ok to stop in between washes. I've done that many times. I finished the fist wash and come back next day.

I second the idea to adding a bead of caulk to divide the mixing area on the pallet.
Happy new year Eric, hoping to turn a new page this year and dedicate some time in trying to build up this skill
Thank you Eric. Happy New Year to you too :-)

I’ve been following along for a while and just ordered your brush set, excited to try the larger brushes now that I’m working with larger paper!

Hello Eric! I´m from Brazil.I like your watercolor. What watercolor technique do you use?
Hi Eric! Happy New Year!

Where did you get your chair? I think I would like one like this.

Do you close your palette?
Ive become a very big fan of Baohong paper. If Arche's paper has become too pricy for you, Baohong is on the same level in quality, but not in price.

It's in my home backyard. But I can live here if I need to. Sometime my kids like to camp there. =)
