Hey! Ever since I watched this video a few months ago I've been obsessed with making all things soap! I've even started my own business😊 thanks for the inspiration, keep doing what you're doing
Have wanted to make soap for a few years. Your video was a joy to watch and I feel I can try my hand at soap making now. Your instructions were very clear and I like your safety reminders.
Love your energy and the simple explanations for how to make these soaps. I'm going into the kitchen now to make my first batch ever(!!) of melt and pour. Thanks for the inspiration!
What a great idea! Definitely, cinnamon for the gingerbread people. And, possibly, vanilla for the snowflakes? Loved the bee molds, too. Perfect for gardening friends. Can't wait to try these. You make them look so simple! 👍
Hi Catherine, another winner, it's a great and they all turned out so beautiful. I'm definitely going to try this myself. They'll make perfect little gifts for family and friends. Thanks again Catherine, till next week, take care...love ya and I'm not forgetting Blondie, love her too 😉🐺💖💖
I'm just rewatching this video because it reminds me of Christmas when I made a loads of soaps based on this. And right now all I need is this lovely vibe that it has and those good times that it reminds me of😊
It warms my heart to watch your videos! You are sooooo talented! Your soaps are beautiful! What a great gift idea. When you wrapped them ,that was the icing on the cake. The looked like the came from a boutique. Your soaps and natural, beautiful, down to earth just like you. Missed Blondie and Pepsi in your video. You and your pussycats go hand in hand. You are one great team together. Thank you for all your hard and time consuming work!!
By the way, we added colorings & essential oil fragrances. The kids were so creative and made very pretty color combinations. Since then I bought more molds. Today I am doing a soap making class with some local young ladies. They will use their soaps for Christmas gifts. So, thank you yet again, Catherine! This is SO easy and the result is immensely rewarding. 💕
You are an amazing young lady! I am 58 and was horrified to try this. Then I watched your video and it gave me a lift and the confidence to give it a go. Thanks!
You are THEE cutest young lady I have ever seen! And I love your accent. Thank you for the tutorial I can not wait to make some of the oatmeal and honey soaps.
I'm glad I saw this bc I was about to buy the lye, but like you, I dont like dealing with chemicals. I'll just take this route and add my oils and smells and coloring if I have too.. and I love your accent.. ty ❤
Your beautiful voice reminds me of my family in Ireland. I LOVE YOUR SOAP! It came out so cute and I hope Im just as lucky my first time round. Thank you for giving me some confidence in soap making ^_^ I appreciate you and all you do!
This video was so cute, I just bought a bunch of soap making stuff from Joann's and this gave me a ton of inspiration! The fabric and twine presentation is genius, thank you for making this!
What a very, very helpful video - and what a delight you are! So natural and, indeed, such a beautiful Irish Coleen! I know one when I see one cos, being a half Irish Coleen myself, I have many beautiful Irish aunts and cousins. As others have commented, your video is inspiring. And it's inspired me too. After buying some melt and pour soap base on a whim, I searched the internet re how best to use it and found your RUclips. I, too, now look forward to experimenting with making my own soap. Thanks so much beautiful Irish Coleen for taking the time to produce such a delight to watch video.
Well done Kathrine another winner. Two years ago I made the lime method soap, bit needed to mature good few months and definetly needs to be done outdoors or in well ventilated place. I used rosemary, geranium and lavender combo, and it was wonderful, especially as it is unusual combination. I added dry rose buds and dry lavender to decorate the tops as I used round molds. 😊
This is marvelous! I love your cute molds, and the recipes you use. I also appreciate all of the very clear directions. I am definitely going to do this! Thank you so much :-)
beautiful. I've been wanting to make soap for ages but was a bit apprehensive of the lye method. your soap turned out great so will not be afraid to try this method. thank you as always 😊
Oh my gosh, those bee moulds are so cute! I've always thought making soap would be super hard, so thanks for making this video! I might have to try it.
I was just thinking how I could make these and keep them in my own bath! I love these and the little fabric wraps are so pretty for that vintage shabby look!! You're amazing!
Hi Catherine, I absolutely love soap my favourite.A great idea as gifts but also super for the bathroom.I like the idea not using chemicals.I have a lot on my Pinterest they are so beautiful.I adore your presentation.Wonderful soaps as they can be wrapped so lovely in gorgeous ribbons and gift basket with soap dish and maybe nail brush, together with a wash cloth.Very inspirational and much appreciated. Thank you for video and blessings and greetings and hugs from the north east of England.xxx
I make the other kind of soap you were talking about and actually there’s low three ways to make soap 😅 Melt and pour (which still contains lye but it has completely cured) Cold process (making soap at room temperature after all the oils are melted and fluid like) and Hot process (melting oils in crockpot and cooking with the lye for an amount of time. Melt and put you can use right away I recommend 24-48 hours though so it’s all hardened. And cold process you have to wait 4-6 weeks to use. Hot process can be used 24-48 hours as well but you can’t get those pretty swirls it’s like working with a paste lol I haven’t tried HP yet :-) just thought I would share ❤️ lovely soaps!
Shelby S, I have to disagree with you (friendly disagreement of course :-)). I make hot process soap. I make swirls, as well as cupcake soaps using hot process. I also make very cute soap slices that look like decorated cake slices with piped soap frosting, topped with a soap cherry, just like you can make with cold process. It can be done when you are an experienced hot process soaper :-)
sheba12106 that’s awesome! :-) I’ve never done hot process yet- would love to sometime! But I’ve just been told that stuff 😅 I’m sure it’s more difficult to work with but I’m glad you told me that!
Catherine I adore how you have wrapped and made these lovely soaps.Tea tree soap would be useful.Add some little rosebuds. Those moulds are super.Would be good if you could get one shaped as a cat!!! Much love to you and Blondie.xxx
Wonderful project! Will make great gifts! I love both of the scents you suggested and Love the honey comb & bee mold. I've never made soaps, but you made it look so easy that I'm going to have to try it! TFS - Hugs, Christal
I made my first batch yesterday of soap yesterday. Fresh Meadow fragrance and coloured pink at my daughters request but next I'm going to be making your oat, honey and almond oil soaps :) can't wait. Love your videos xx
I pronounce eczema the same way as you. I always thought soap was labour intensive but after watching you, I'm definitely trying this! Thanks for the inspiration ❤
Love this! I have sensitive skin so I can't use store bought soaps. Will try this around the holiday season! As for scents lavender lemon, mint lemon, & lavender jasmine those are my go to.
Thank you for this video. I'm had a few odd bits of leftover soap and wanted to reuse them somehow. I got myself some soap moulds and the melt an pour method seems to work well. Thank you.
I love your Irish accent. Definitely going to try these with a view to selling them on my shop. Please do lots more! Have just started subscribing to your videos.
