Just a little FYI that works for me is to mix my mica in a shot glass with a couple sprays of alcohol and it mixes very well and the alcohol will disapate and it mixes in with your melted soap amazingly. No clumps or loose powder that wont mix in it works great. Give it a try.
I tried this and it was awesome..I did a red top and candy cane fragrance so I didn't copy you fully. Just did the technique and I am so happy. I enjoy watching and learning from you tutorials. Thank you so much
🎄🎄Just so creative and adorable!! I love that fragrance and the holiday designs are so beautiful!! I use my colors ya and mix them in a tiny bit of alcohol first then pour it into my melt and pour. I seen it a while back and tried it and I believe it makes it easier to incorporate! This turned out so beautifully and such cuteness!
I just seek this. I'm trying to make soap and I've definitely messed up then because I didnt know if it was bubbling or smoking that it's no good. Lol so thank you !!
Beautiful wear did you get the plastic jars that you can put in the microwave and is that so the same as cocoa butter or Shea butter melt to pour soap I’m thinking it’s better to use the clear soap, then white soap right? Because it don’t looks like you’re rushing to pour your soul. The white soap look like you have to hurry up and pour it. I don’t know I’m just learning.
Great question I’ve got the same problem also I think temperature is the key Possibly 100 spray RA then pour second layer I’ve failed at this many times so good luck I’ll keep trying also 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🇺🇸
Hi Wholesome, I'm doing some research about soap making, and I was wondering if people learn how to make soap to make it for themselves or to sell the soap. What's your opinion on that ?? Thanks.
as a beginner melt and pour soap bars, i made some earlier this week and as soon as i took it out of the microwave it started to set, but managed to get it melted and add the color/fragrance into the mold.. turned out well but im still trying to figure out the time measurements
I just wanted to let you know that you can make it an entire slab and not have to use two or three different molds. Then you can use a log splitter. The log splitter has to be designed a certain way though. But yes log splitters will cut melt n pour if the design is changed.
I ran across this video again. Looks like I already made a comment. So I'll just explain. The reason why wire will break cutting melt and pour is because wire has a rough texture that creates friction. The friction will become greater than the strength of the wire and could break it. To over come that many use a thicker wire. Me personally I went the other route. A thinner "wire" that is smooth to create less friction will not break. In fact, what I use is not wire at all. Its 30lb (anything less will not work) fishing line which is very smooth and it doesn't leave any stretch marks on the soap. Just thought I'd put my two cents worth in. Its never broke and if it does I have an entire roll that will last the rest of my life. If anyone would like to make their own, check out my vids (I don't make any money off ads) and you can see how I did it to come up with your own version. Additionally, the cutter used here is very nice though so not take take away from any ones hard work.
Use a small cup add about 1/2 teaspoon of alcohol to it then add mica and mix it and pour into soap base. I assume these will be given to family and friends since you didn’t use gloves while touching these bars.
selenia carrico the mica dispersed perfectly, do you feel it is necessary to waste time blending Mica's even thought her soap was beautifully successful?
Yes, it could have been due to pouring too cold. Also, if you use two different soap bases they can have a hard time bonding. Use rubbing alcohol before pouring a layer to help with adhesion as well.
Hi, is there a difference in cutting a loaf from a cold process and a loaf from a melt and pour? Is the loaf harder after 12 hours than a cold process loaf?
Artiefrog have you watched Tree Marie, Soy and Shea, Royalty Soaps & Bramble berry videos, they are also some of the informative soap making video out there.
So I made my own soap this past weekend and they turned out beautiful but the natural smell of the soap is more over powering than the fragrance oil. Is there a way to smell more of the fragrance oil then the soap smell? Sure Maybe change soaps? I used honey soap and shea butter soap.
Is there anything I can add to my melt and pour base to make it last longer? I was reading that adding two teaspoons of salt per pound helps the soap last longer. Have you tried it before?
I'm going to look for this fragrance that sounds wonderful. But I'm curious. I see you don't wear a glove and I'm wondering if you're leaving fingerprints behind on your soap.
Love the video! Can you manipulate the top layer like you can in cold process soap? Can you also add extra soap figurines in the layers (for ex. Mermaid tales etc.)? TIA!
Just found your channel and subscribed. Like how you use ordinary items for making your soap (plastic spoon & fork 😃👍🏼). Love that soap! Please, Please tell me how do you keep your melted soap melted? Mine usually starts to set up and I have to reheat. Thanks.
Hi JoAnn, thank you so much for watching and thank you for subscribing. I think you need to heat your soap up a little more if it is setting up while you pour. Also, I melt the layers seperately, I melt it down right before pouring to the next layer.
THIS MAY SEEM SILLY BUT CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW THE SOAP BASE IS STAYING LIQUIFIED FOR SO LONG? I'M FAIRLY NEW AT THIS BUT WHENEVER I'M MAKING SOAP, IT COOLS VERY QUICKLY AND I CAN BARELY ADD ANYTHING PRIOR TO POURING BEFORE THAT FILM STARTS DEVELOPING. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I'VE ALSO SEEN A FEW MELT AND POUR SOAP VIDEOS WHERE SOMETHING WAS ALREADY MIXED IN AND THE SOAP BASE LITERALLY STAYED MELTED UNTIL THE PERSON WAS READY TO POUR IT. SOMETIMES FOR 5 MINUTES OR MORE. HOW IS THAT?
@@sevenover42 WELL SINCE I RESPONDED ON THIS VIDEO, AND AFTER MORE RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT THE CLEAR SOAPS STAY LIQUID LONGER FOR SOME REASON. I'M GONNA START USING CLEAR MORE AND KEEP SOME WHITE AROUND IN CASE I WANT TO INCORPORATE IT. I ALSO REALIZED THAT THE WHITE BASE JUST NEEDS TO KEEP BEING STIRRED AS IT'S COOLING. NOT TOO LONG THOUGH OR THAT STUPID FILM STARTS.
Hey, I am planning on starting with soap making, and this video has been of great help. I have a few questions, and would be so grateful if you (or anyone) could respond: Have уou tried mica lines between the layers? What if I was to paint something on one layer with mica dispersed in isopropyl alcohol? Will the next layer smudge the picture? How thin can you go with layers? Have you ever tried pouring cold-processed soap over melt and pour or the other way around? Thank you so much!
Your pours are mesmerizing! I was into it, I was so happy when I seen the purple layer 😍 Off topic, your skin is gorgeous! Wow! Your facial skin is luminous. The first layer I bounced my eyes back and forth the soap and your skin. 😍
This is a lil late but I used Apple Balsam from #Brambleberry for the first time this year and omgurd it’s amazing. It’s xmas in a bottle! It has the pine notes, sweetness from the apple, Jasmine notes... It’s gorgeous 👍 For some reason I can’t get my layers to stick together. I’ve tried everything..I spray with RA, I watch my temperatures... IDK. I do like MP because of how well it holds Fragrance and how it shows off mica colors. I gave up on it though. Lol I only use it for embeds in my CP now. I love this soap... It’s beautiful!
Beginner here: so if I have a mold that holds 44oz I’m unsure how much mp soap I need? I thought 2lbs was a lot but now watching this I’m like hmmm I guess ima need more to make a loaf 😅
Just a little FYI that works for me is to mix my mica in a shot glass with a couple sprays of alcohol and it mixes very well and the alcohol will disapate and it mixes in with your melted soap amazingly. No clumps or loose powder that wont mix in it works great. Give it a try.
that's how I do it too. then I dont have mica bursts in my set soap
I saw that the other day and I wondered how well it worked.
yes and it drains it out of the glass nothign to clean otu later or very tiny amnt. I do this with bath bombs , bubble bars, shower steamers and soaps
Great tip.😊👍
Thanks for sharing the video on making the lovely multi-layered soap. Really nice color 🎉
I loved the way the soap turned out. I learned quite a bit about layering melt and pour soap from watching this video, thank you!
thank you!
this may sound weird but i loved this video! even the family interactions in the back, felt very natural. thank u for your tips
PrincessDy thank you! My living space and work space are very connected, lol!

thanks!!!! you just helped me a lot ! i’m trying to start a soap business and this was very helpful
Did you ever start your business I'm new to this starting mine soon 🤞🏽
Thanks. I’m a beginning soap maker with melt and pour soap.
Thank you for sharing your technique.
Kind of reminds me of a Mardi Gras themed soap!

thank you! Yes, mixing the mica in a bit of alcohol first does help to distribute the mica better.
That’s so beautiful.
Beautiful work thank you for sharing ❤
First of all i love the soap and you are so detailed in the video
Omg so satisfying
I’m loving that Sierra Nevada brewery hoodie, my company helped with building the new brewery in Asheville
Stephanie Fields thank you! My husband and his family are from Chico! We are fans of the brewery and the sweatshirts:)
So pretty! I really love the colors you chose
Very beautiful soap, love your table cloth too, very cool.👌🧼

Can you put a link to where you purchased that soap cutter from! Beautiful soap thank you 😊

I love silver, purple, and blue for the holiday. Scents are pine and berries
This is so cool!!!!
Love the colors. Turned out very pretty.
Do you have a link for the soap cutter?
It's beautiful. Great job 👍
Lovely and inspiring too !!
How do you get the layers to not separate after cutting? I'll have like 1 bar when I swirl that will separate from the other color... like snap off.
Great question I’ve got the same problem also
I think temperature is the key
Possibly 100 spray RA then pour second layer I’ve failed at this many times so good luck I’ll keep trying also

jjrondon2020 Suarez eventually sell. Just learning now.
Did you only add fragrance to the first two layers only?
Yesss purple is my favorite color. This soap is going to be gorgeous
can you liquid color instead of mica powder thanks
New Subscriber, learned alot...

How much time was it between pouring layers pls
Can you do a melt and pour soap with additives like water based extracts and essential oils?
But how long do the soaps need to set before the next layer???
this is lovely
Beautiful soap!!
Hello ! How long did you wait before pouring each layer ?
I was thinking the same
Please tell me the name of the cutter mine is awful and ruining my soap thanks
This really helps
Malayah Byrd thank you for watching!
Can u add anything to this soap! Like coconut oil or castor oil????
Have you tried the vanilla color stabilizer? I have great luck with it in my M&P soaps.
I have tried it, yes it does work good in mp soaps!
Janette Nassaney nice
How much Fragrance oil did you use?
How much fragrance oil did you use per pound?
Nice soap is there a way you could do
Green, Red, Silver and Gold with Pine Scent maybe in beds White? Just wondering.
Use a small cup add about 1/2 teaspoon of alcohol to it then add mica and mix it and pour into soap base. I assume these will be given to family and friends since you didn’t use gloves while touching these bars.

What r u looking for when u check the soap
Beautiful
God bless you very nice ilove it❤️❤️💓💓
That looks just like my cutter, but I'm not sure if it's for melt and pour too; probably need a thicker wire.
My MP didn’t fall through but separated in half after it cured!??? Why? Did I wait to long to pour my 2nd layer?
Yes, it could have been due to pouring too cold. Also, if you use two different soap bases they can have a hard time bonding. Use rubbing alcohol before pouring a layer to help with adhesion as well.
Jillian Shuler I’ve also found when cutting light hatch signs between each layer, I have better adhesion.
Should we use the 5lb soap mold
could you share where you got the cutter from please? I apologize if someone already asked in the thread....
Hi, is there a difference in cutting a loaf from a cold process and a loaf from a melt and pour? Is the loaf harder after 12 hours than a cold process loaf?
Haleemah Abdul-Muhaymin yes melt and pour soap is much harder and can’t be cut using a cutter made for cold process soap
Fishing line will cut clean through melt and pour and glycerin soap. Doesn't even leave a scratch.
i do layers and in middle layer dont stack together, what im do wrong?
How do you know there a non bleeding colorant. Love the soap
In the description of the colorant on their website it should say if it is. Also most mica colorants don't bleed. It is the lab colors that bleed.
Sunshine Soap and Candle Company thank you. I’m just starting out doing lots of reading and watching videos. Yours are some of my favorite thank you

Love your soap can you please tall me how many pounds of soap did you use all together
5 lbs
where do you get your measuring plastic cups..i like those
23:46 fantastic!!
I'm going to look for this fragrance that sounds wonderful. But I'm curious. I see you don't wear a glove and I'm wondering if you're leaving fingerprints behind on your soap.
I wondered that too. It seems like they always run their fingers all over the soap after they cut when they hold it up to the camera. It's cringey.
Can we add essential oils and oils such as coconut oil and vegetable glycerine to this base ?
What can i substitute rubbing alcohol with?
Love the video! Can you manipulate the top layer like you can in cold process soap? Can you also add extra soap figurines in the layers (for ex. Mermaid tales etc.)? TIA!

Where did you purchase your moulds? Love the size!
Does anyone know where she got the cutter please?
Do you still need one?

Is that wax, or parchment paper that you used underneath while chopping?
High standards it’s a piece of paper towel
High Standards., parchment paper will also do.
Can you use goats milk m&p base, of course different colors?
Can you actually use the soap? Does the dye color your skin.?
