Marvel's Shang-Chi has a new trailer filled with clues about the Ten Rings, a dragon that is apparently NOT Fin Fang Foom, and an expanded fight tournament roster that includes other MCU warriors like Hulk villain Abomination and Doctor Strange partner Wong. Id also like to point out that film makers when using the blue / orange lighting is not only a representation of their powers but also the blue represents the coldeness and instability of his father and the orange represents the warmth and protection he gets from his mother
I love shots where you see the action coming through the mirror so you can see the reaction of the kid as it is happening. The technical aspect of getting that shot without exposing the crew is also pretty awesome.

I’m a big fan of how they changed up the rings for this movie... the decision to stop comparing these movies to their source material really helps me enjoy the mcu as it’s own thing
But I’m also worried that from why we’ve seen these rings all work together to make simple beam blasts and weapons. Not using there own separate powers.
They could possibly have more powers, I’m not familiar with the comics but if marvel uses source material most of the time they follow it pretty well. Maybe the mandarin just can’t unlock them but Shang chi can 🤔

@@Niop_Tres we havent even seen the movie yet. the comic version of the rings was pretty generic too, it was literally like infinity gems but rings. they literally also just generate beams of fire, ice etc. unlike here in the movie, it form into different things depending on how the user wields it
Wong being in this movie makes a lot of sense. Wasn't he the protector of the Sanctum in Hong Kong? Not to mention, wouldn't that be the place where the TEN RINGS would belong..
I think that Abomination is mutating and evolving and that's why he looks different

On why Wong's fighting in the tournament:
The post-credits of Doctor Strange hinted at Mordo going on a "Last Days of Magic"-esque crusade against magic-users. Five years without a Sorcerer Supreme gives him a lot of time to do some major damage to the magical world. Strange's response to seeing the amount of people Wong summoned for the final battle in Endgame may also hint at how much damage Mordo has done.
I think Strange and Wong may just be scrounging for any magical artifacts they can find at this point. Similarly, they may be desperately looking for any magic-users, which would explain why Strange did not interfere in the events of WandaVision. He knew it would lead to the rebirth of the Scarlet Witch, and a being that powerful would be a very useful ally
Yes, Strange is always considering tactics for 'the battle ahead'. You can tell he's almost obliged to skip ahead to these more momentous junctures of future outcomes (involving him) because the TVA has been pruning everything else in between, leading to dead ends/failed outcomes in millions of prunes branches.
Look at TVA agent C-20, who Sylvie said had 'hundreds of years' of history, yet hailed from the 90s/2000s. She's been trapped in endless quantum loops pruning the same situations to keep the Timekeepers' (or the folks masquerading as them) so-called 'Sacred Timeline' intact. I.e., the o ly timeline that keeps them concealed from other Celestials and in power of events. Of course the Avengers needed to succeed in 2012. It eventually led to Thanos' snap success, which bought the 'keepers 5 'free' years of subterfuge as 50% of living entities (including their accusers) went *poof*. Efficient time management.
Certainly not a 'natural' timeline.
Remember, Strange has 260 IQ and acute/permanent photographic memory, so he can 'fast forward' through these millions of pruned outcomes to a critical branch scenario (involving him) that must be reached.
When the entities behind the TVA are dismantled to allow a naturally flowing timeline to proceed, the transition will cause the temporary Multiverse of Madness for Strange to deal with - meticulously unraveling the patterns within the phenomena.

@@johnsantos507 K'un-Lun is one of the 7 Capital cities, Basically they're Mythical city states in different pocket realms and each city has an immortal champion that protects them. They also merge every so often and have a tournament. It's all really cool Iron Fist lore.

When you said the rings might shrink, it immediately made me think of Sun Wukong's (the monkey king) legendary staff that is able to shrink to the size of needle and grow to the size of a sky breaking pillar. Imagine if the rings abilities are like that, shrink to rings sizes or grow to huge rings that bashes down walls.

Maybe the golden rings on Shang-Chi’s fingers are the equivalent of the Phantom’s ring that controls the skulls (from The Phantom starring Billy Zane)...so like in that movie, the skulls were powerful, but the full power came from the control of them. That would mean the blue bracelets work without the golden rings, but the full power comes from the controlling rings. This film looks AWESOME!! Cannot wait 🤩! And I love how they are recontextualized into the forearm bracelets. The way they move on and off the arms and how they are powerful weapons is fantastic. I like how they tied them back to historical and cultural meaning as well.

On the size of the rings/bracelets: I think they still could be originally meant as sized for Fin Fang Foom's claws, as his "pinky" rings would probably be smaller than his index or middle claw rings. Also, Chinese mythology includes four and five clawed/toed dragons, with five clawed dragons being reserved for emperors, or very powerful beings.
I think that the 'Great protector' is Marvel renaming Fin fang foom

At 9:26 you can see how Shang-Chi's hand has rings on his fingers glowing to create the "power rope". His Warm energy is more controlled as opposed to the "wild" blue energy seen at 9:23. Kinda like Star Wars' Ren's red lightsaber. I'd propose that the blue rings are a bad copy of the "true" 10 rings Shang-Chi wears.
While it's definitely hard to tell, the sorcerer fighting Abomination doesn't really look like Wong/Benedict Wong to me. Just seems like a random sorcerer. But hey, I could be wong. **ba-dum-ching**
The shields the warriors in red use to make a ramp stack up like dragon scales. Boom, Shendu confirmed.
