Jeff beck did not play on this version. It is stevie multitracking himself on the clavinet! Jeff beck has his own version. Basically, stevie gave him the track and at the last minute, had a change of mind and took the track back which Jeff was not too happy about. Stevie repaid him by having Jeff play lead guitar on another track off the talking book album from which superstition appears on. The track is called looking for another pure love. Hope this helps.
Anyone who doesnt like this song, i honestly dont know what you're looking for. Stevie is a freaking legend and this song for me never gets old. Timeless
Best thing about Stevie is that He’s a 1 man band! He plays drums, keyboard bass, piano, synthesizer, clavinet (that’s the funky keyboard used in this song) and of course harmonica! Stevie played every instrument in this song except for the horns, and did that for like 90% of the songs he’s made. Truly one of the music goats!!!
Yes. There's a video of the making of the album, that shows him during the recording of Superstition playing the various instruments during the tracking of the song. Stevie is the man.
Another thing he did with this song. Think about how braille works. The black keys would be easier for a blind person to sense, SO he wrote this song and maybe others in a way to play almost all black keys, E flat minor. I spent my whole life thinking this was a guitar and wondered how somebody could pick these notes to make it sound this good. Watch this video where someone shows most of the music on a piano from above. It's one minute before the first white key is played. ruclips.net/video/p7nbBzH2MPI/видео.html
Stevie had his first hit on Motown when he was just 13, and tearing up his harmonica. A prolific artist, talented musician, songwriter, producer, Stevie does it all. As if that weren't enough, he's a loving, compassionate human being that hasn't forgot where he came from. My recommendation, "Living For the City."
You can never go wrong with Stevie Wonder. His music is so groovy. As, I Wish, Higher Ground, Sir Duke, Boogie on Reggae Woman, That Girl, If You Really Love Me, Living for the City and Ebony and Ivory (duet with Paul McCartney of The Beatles.
Oh my gosh, Amber, you have got to listen to Stevie's song "Isnt She Lovely"! The song he wrote for his new baby girl! BEAUTIFUL! I sang it to my baby girl when she was born! :) Jay, yet another one of Stevie's songs in his prolific writings/singing, is a song called "With Each Beat of My Heart". One of the most beautifully written love songs ever! Amber would love it! :) Have a Blessed day! :)
Yes!! Both great songs! Amber will probably cry listening to Isn’t she lovely because it is such a beautiful song and Stevie wrote it for his daughter 🥰 They need to watch him live!
That's who my Mother named me after/ was inspired by to name me - Aisha! I've already told my family that "Isn't She Lovely" is one of my 'funeral songs'. It's kinda morbid, but it makes sense, right? 💜 -x-
His catalog is so immense and diverse you have just scratched the surface. He's literally one of the greatest musician song writer singers in our history. One of the greatest albums ever created SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE.
Stevie Wonder is the GOAT!! Not only is he an extraordinarily talented singer and musician (playing a few different instruments), he is a PHENOMENAL songwriter. In fact, he has written (or at least co-written) all of his music since the late 1960s. "Superstition" was everybody's jam when it was released in 1972. His catalog of music is insane. With ALLLLLL of his amazing hit records, my all-time favorite is still "I Was Made to Love Her", which was released in 1967. Will you please react to it? He played clavinet and harmonica on this song, which he co-wrote at the age of 16; it was released 5 days after his 17th birthday!!
NO COVER will ever touch the original! I was blessed to see Stevie wonder in concert in my 20s. I won tickets off the radio station and I was totally blown away. The man walks the stage as if he had site! Y’all are listening to a legend right there!
Stevie Wonder is a musical treasure, a legend and a pure genius!!! He has an extremely extensive musical catalog too, so you can never go wrong with a Stevie Wonder song!!! Two of my personal favorites are "I WISH" and "AS." Thanks for the reactions!!!

I want say enough about how super talented this man is.
Been following Stevie Wonder since his song "Up tight" (everything is alright, up tight and outa sight) from the late 60s early 70s. He produced some of the most replayed songs through the years. Good choice. The instrument with a slide is the trombone. The first part was a harpsichord effect on a electric keyboard.
Stevie Wonder, IMHO, is the most under-appreciated musician, singer, songwriter ever. As someone else commented, he's an absolute national treasure. And a great human being as well, always promoting love and unity amongst us all.

He has provided so many extraordinary hits--and has so affected music they now call some chords "Stevie Wonder" chords. His sound is unique,. Thanks!
🏆 Stevie Wonder; what a treasure trove of wonderful music! As a young child, my parents had his albums and I think that laid the foundation for much of the music I have been drawn to during my 53 years, lol! My favorite, 'AS" is an R&B song with pure POETRY lyrics! "I Wish", Livin' for the City, Sir Duke, Higher Ground... HIGHLY recommend reacting to his first hit, when he was just a teen "FINGERTIPS" 💖
You gotta listen to a LOT more Stevie! He will blow you away and he has a huge body of work. 3 GREAT albums - Innervisions, Fulfilliness First Finale and Songs in the Key of Life
It's not enough to listen to a Stevie Wonder song, you have to listen to whole albums. EVERYTHING he did in the 70s are classics. He influenced everyone who came after him in R&B on some level. He is a living legend and is unbelievably prolific in his song writing ability. You'd be doing yourselves a favor if you just deep dived Stevie starting with his very first song as an 11 year old "Fingertips" where he wows with his harmonica.
Stevie Wonder is truly a wonder, was signed up with a label contract at the unbelievable age of 11 and had his first number 1 hit at the age of 13, all of own production...

Stevie's the Greatest. Back in the 80s a French rock climber won a hard competition while carrying a Walkman and wearing headphones. Reporters asked him what he was listening to and he just said, "Stevie Wonder, of course."
That groove… it’s SO infectious … I’m a fat old white guy and I GET it … he’s my hero , he’s got more different genres in his resume than a world renowned vendor of classic genres at John Hopkin University in the USA… I’m grooving as I’m writing this listening to that fkn awesome repeating keyboard riff… no one else could’ve done this song .. bless you Stevie 👍🏴
Never heard a Stevie Wonder song... wow. Sacrilege! Stevie's album "Songs in the key of life" is a must have for all music lovers. Stevie is playing keyboards in this track.
There is no Wonder about Stevie’s legendary sound! So many all time tunes like,As, Master Blaster,Living For The City,Sir Duke, and Higher Ground are just a few of about another thirty tunes that once reacted to you will remember ever more!
As I'm sure many other people have mentioned, Stevie Wonder is an amazing musician: vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer. And he got started performing professionally as a young boy and was dubbed "Little Stevie Wonder" back then. "Superstition" is one of my favorites. That beat and bass line are ICONIC. I don't know how you can listen to this song and not start moving your body and be put into a better mood!
Amazing you're hearing this for the first time! Such a phenomenal artist, get ready to dive in! Originally meant to be a collaboration with guitar god Jeff Beck, who came up with the drum beat, played by Stevie, as always at this time, who played the funky clavinet and the Moog synthesizer bass as well as vocals. Stevie's version came out before Beck's version with his power trio, BBA; their rendition, saw 'em live, also '73, was pure smokesmanship...look for a version with Jeff and Stevie both!
Stevie Wonder is a musical genius - and he is one groovy cat...:) I remember I was young when his album Songs in the Key of Life (at least I think it was that album) was out, and at the Grammy awards they just kept calling his name, and his entourage kept helping him on stage to accept Grammy after Grammy after Grammy...

Yeeaah, not _just_ a great pianist, a great instrumentalist, composer, singer, performer and just all round massively influential musical genious. A gift from God.
For soulful, sensitive, inventive artistry thy name IS Stevie! I'd suggest you check most of his 70s music. He won THREE Album of The Year Grammys in that decade! Also for piano playing at its finest check out Joe Jackson's stuff (especially "Everything Gives You Cancer"). You will not be disappointed!
Most people have NO IDEA how hard it is to film oneself. I have shot thousands of hours of interviews, so I know...You both rock ! Love watching your reactions.
"I think I've heard this!" You're going to say that a lot. I guarantee you've heard plenty of his songs before, you just didn't know it was him. To highlight how massive his catalog is, Superstition is from his fifteenth studio album, released in 1972. Check out "Sir Duke" and "Isn't She Lovely," both huge fan favorites.
watching you two experience some of my favorite music for the first time has brought me so much joy! EWF! Stevie Wonder, KC and the Sunshine Band. Pure joy! Thanks!
Genius. Eddie Murphy in a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, were discussing genius.Eddie Murphy said Stevie Wonder, Prince and Paul McCartney are and were on a level that you could see and feel when he met them, not just musically, just genius hands down.
"Heard of Stevie Wonder" just blows my mind. PARENTS... please introduce your children to not only the music you love but the music your parents loved. Great music is universal and needs to be shared.
He was playing every instrument, except horn section. He's a genius. He is a national treasure.

Jeff Beck played guitar not Stevie Wonder

For soulful, sensitive, inventive artistry thy name IS Stevie! I'd suggest you check most of his 70s music. He won THREE Album of The Year Grammys in that decade! Also for piano playing at its finest check out Joe Jackson's stuff (especially "Everything Gives You Cancer"). You will not be disappointed!
Thanks, Lin, for mentioning Joe Jackson!
@@GinMae Y.W. Jackson is DEEPLY underrated!
Most people have NO IDEA how hard it is to film oneself. I have shot thousands of hours of interviews, so I know...You both rock ! Love watching your reactions.
A similarly funky tune from about the same time that you'd love is "Survival" by The O'Jays. I hope you look them up, that tune or "Back Stabbers."
awesome song, awesome artist. Stevie is somebody who will forever be unforgettable...the man is an icon.
Stevie Wonder is a national treasure. Just fabulous. Very influential in making Martin Luther King's birthday a national holiday.
Stevie played every instrument on this song.
Stevie is the best all of his songs need to be heard by the entire world.
Stevie Wonder and Elton John have one thing in common. They both record songs that do not require a piano on occasion and they are great songs too!
Stevie is a national treasure, so talented❤
This was a big song at house parties in the 70s'
watching you two experience some of my favorite music for the first time has brought me so much joy!
Stevie did this an home recording studio he wrote it and played everything except the trumpets
I was looking for this comment before I posted it myself. Hopefully the hopefully the dive into a Stevie Wonder rabbit hole...
@@thorsluter7835 thanks thor , yes hopefully it's a great rabbit hole
My favorite artist since I was 12. I’m 65 and he still is.
