This video is old, but for anyone else.... My wife tried it this way (this is the instructions that comes with the machine) and it overflowed everywhere. Many people have this exact same result. People might want to make a half serving instead of full. I'll be trying that myself once I get around to freezing a drink.

Just for the slushy, it’s a winner. I wonder how it handles carbonated drinks?

Do you think it would make a Diet Coke slushie like you get at a gas station? I wondered if the sugar substitutes would freeze too hard, maybe if I let it sit out a bit before processing?

Enjoying your video's and I admit to being a Ninja junkie. (The deluxe Creami is my 7th Ninja) One correction that I wanted to point out when you were describing the difference between 'scoopable' vs 'drinkable'.... the Italian Ice, while the label is on the right side (for drinkable) if you look closely, it's actually considered Scoopable, from the 'highlight that starts at 12 o'clock and wraps down to the left ending on 5 for the Italian Ice option. Hope that helps. Thanks for all your demos

Only reason finally bought this other than one payment of $53.67 then 3 of $37.50 then 1 for 37.49 was to make the frozen cokes sold at McDonald's. Have you tried one yet because I'm wondering what freezing will do to carbonation

I didnt know that clear line was a line... i thought it was juste the design... i was following the top and bottom of the line that separates the 2 sides

The horziontal lines are just design. He is wrong in the video. The top and bottom of the black line are the max and min fill line according to the manual

copied every step exactly the same ... this machine is hit and miss because mine was an absolute nightmare and I'm returning it before my return window expires to Costco. When I tried to make slushi drinks it leaked into the other bowl and the liquid portion went into the outer bowl. I have also read similar slushi nightmares on reddit so it's not an isolated case. I watched this video to make sure I didn't miss a step including the inner bowl locking into the notches of the outer bowl and proper paddle installation as well. It's just a buggy product so buyer beware.

I noticed over-expansion when I made slushies too. So now I just make half a recipe. It seems to fill the whole container by the time it is done (the volume really increases dramatically), and it makes enough for us. But it is wonderful when you learn how to make it do what you want it to.
