When I first met my late husband in 1983, he had long hair and a long beard. (He looked like a cross between ZZ Top and Charles Manson) lol. He surprised me on our wedding day with his hair cut and cleaned shaved. I swear that I didn’t recognize him. I always thought he was handsome but WOW he really looked good! As the years went by, he had long hair in the winter and in warm weather he kept himself clean cut. He looked great no matter what. Gosh I miss him so much. RIP my love.

I love this video. I don't believe it was too long. It is longer than the ones you usually do, but I thoroughly enjoyed all the detail put into it. I agree that they did not get nearly enough time for taking a man's life. I also found myself smiling when you said that Pamela got jumped and had to go through surgery. I hope her headaches and pain are beyond excruciating. It is nothing compared to what she put Greg's family through.
Lamont, I would love it if you did longer videos more often. To me, it really felt as if you were there going through all the bs like it was just happening and not 30 years ago. I wish you well. Stay safe. Godspeed.

I’m just NOW subscribing to your content. I have always wondered when or IF an investigative reporter would cover a certain case that is full of tragedy. Or. If given some pointers how to cover the tragic case MYSELF in my very own blog, or whatever format is most accessible.
The case in question is the Channon Christian and Chris Newsome murder case.
I have no real ties to the case yet I found it to be a very disturbing reflection of how meaningless people find life. How downright heartless these monsters can be. What the parents of the victims have lived with, in the case of Channons dad, up till his dying day. Such an emotionally provoking case!

Hey Lamont, good video. It kept my attention the entire time. It wasn't too log. It was a story well told.
One thing you got wrong was at 33:25 you said that it was the only time in Derry, in 1990, that a homicide was committed. Not that I’d expect you to know this, but the same week when Flynn, killed Greg; a 15 year old Derry boy used a knife to kill his older brother in the hallway of their home, and then his father in his bedroom. The boy then set the house on fire in his father’s bedroom. Supposedly the motive was an insurance policy.
I know this because at the time the Derry PD used to use a camera and photo store, I worked at, to develop their mug shots, accident and crime scene photos. I was the assistant manager, and had to oversee all police related photo development. Not only did I see all the crime scene photos of the Smart murder, but also the one where the kid killed two members of his family then burned them. The story was buried because it wasn’t headline grabbing enough like a teacher having sex with a student, then convincing that kid to kill her husband.
The other thing you missed is when you were walking around the old Smart townhouse; it was the bulkhead basement entrance, you passed, at the side of the unit, that Pam left unlocked where Billy and Patrick Randall entered the townhouse.

Hi Lamont, I'm a new subscriber to both of your channels and the way you tell the stories of the people who can no longer speak for themselves with so much respect is just wonderful! The other times when you're telling it like it is about the evil people who commit these horrible crimes, I'm always right behind you shouting "yeah, you tell them Lamont!" Much respect!

I saw on one true crime show or another, that she worried about the bow she would wear in her hair every day to court. I think she is dimwitted enough to think if she wore a bow in her hair, the jury wouldn't find her guilty. Not a deep thinker

I remember this case like it was yesterday. I lived a couple towns over at the time. My sister and brother-in-law live in Derry right by their old condo. I watched the trial every single day. I can remember Pam always wore a bow in her hair and it started a trend. I felt so bad for Greg's parents. I never understood how Pam talked those kids into doing her dirty work...well I know how she talked Billy into it 😉 Great coverage of this case.

I know the case. She is STILL begging to get out of prison, but the state of New Hampshire keeps ignoring her. Pam said "I just can't handle the fact that I might die here in prison!" You better get used to it Pam, because you're not ever going to leave until you die. LWOP is her sentence. Some old rich men want to marry her while she still has some looks. Ain't gonna happen!!!

Just horrible for the family. I worked with Greg Smarts sister in law. Knew her husband, his older brother Rick, such a sweet fellow, who was an advocate for Greg . Derry - yes, not so much happens there but when it does it's horrific. Great job on the reporting

Just subscribed. Really like your content. I remember when this happened and I remember seeing Greg Smart's father on TV 8n interviews and the sorrow on his face and in his voice was heartbreaking. I like your attitude because I too believe in justice being served and very little mercy for scumbags such as those that committed this crime. I will never understand those who say they forgive people such as the perpetrators here, I would never be able to forgive something like that and wouldn't want to be the type of person that would.

There is no point in forgiving someone who is not sorry for what they have done. Forgiveness is a 2 way street. If my sister stole my wallet, then admitted it,returned the cash and was genuinely sorry...then,yes,I would forgive her. However, if she denies it,has no remorse, compassion or regret and would do it again...then,no,I would not forgive her. We can let go of anger and bitterness (over time) about a person ,but that does not mean we have to forgive them, especially if it is a complete monster and you're not even dealing with a human being. I have let go of anger about evil people in my past, but I don't forgive them, they KNOW what they are doing and they enjoy it,they do not deserve my forgiveness.I do however, forgive myself for not knowing better at the time.
