Villi was only 13 years old when this 1st happened, Mary Kay is the adult and the one that should have stopped at the start. This movie is old. The judge gave her a break during her 1st trial, then she did it again and got the full sentencing. I remember this case like it was yesterday.

The interview they did together after they were married, she accused him of being the pursuer. It was sickening to watch her gaslight him the entire time and essentially blame their "relationship" on him like she as the adult couldn't say no and ignore a kid's crush.

My grandmother entered into a marriage at twelve years old. Her father had died leaving behind small children, her mother couldn't afford to take care of them all. So she basically gave her to this 40 + year old man who had lost his wife,and had children older than his new bride. They had three daughters,one died in infancy. She left the marriage after he found another woman. He put her out, I don't know where she went, maybe back home since she was now grown. He kept the kids. They were told she died. She was never allowed back to see them. When they became adults they found out they had been lied to. They hunted her up,she was living us. She had remarried an had one daughter,my mom. She was older when she married again.She was pregnant going thru menopause. I remember when Adele an Eva came that day. They asked if A Miss Bell lived here.Momma went and got granny,she knew immediately who they were,tho it had been thirty years or more.Granny was so happy to see them. They formed a good relationship. Sadly Adele was killed shortly after in a car wreck, Eva died with ovarian cancer. She lived to be age 102. Momma took care of her fir many years. I had a good father,who loved my granny, he was always good to her. Laws were made for a reason. I think after this happened, age of consent changed. It was 14 for many years. I guess that meant both girls and boys. First time seeing this movie. I know she passed,but that young man stood by her. Some how I think he took so much of tge blame. Stockholm syndrome more than likely is what he suffered from. Pray he can now move on,and have a life free from accusations,and the media.

I was 12 when this happened and as an adult and hearing about it and seeing the movie. Something tells me she got pregnant on purpose to try and trap him into staying with her and if it was her way of keeping him in her life forever. I thinks she lied to him about not being able to get pregnant bs.

One thing I've heard that saddens me was how much the relationship destroyed Villi's life chances before he was an adult. He was from a poor immigrant and strictly religious family - the values he was raised with made him feel compelled to do the honourable thing and man up to provide for and to raise the kids Mary Kay conceived probably without his real consent. It was a huge pressure for an underage boy to take on the role of Dad, and it must have robbed him of chances he would have had to grow up and find himself if he hadn't been forced to be a parent too young and without his consent.

I'm not one to judge on lovers having an age gap as long as the 2 people meet as ADULTS. My grandpa and his wife (not my grandmother) were 30 years apart in age. I have an uncle the is 10 years younger than me... she was 30 and he was 60. They were happily married for 28 years before he passed away. She's now in her 70's.

Villi at some point realized that his relationship with her was weird. I remember seeing an interview with them a few years ago and he REALLY looked like he was tired of her. I think it was hot when he was a kid. But when he was grown I think he was like "I can't believe I got stuck with this broad". They also asked them if they would approve if one of their children had a relationship with an adult and he absolutely would not. I think he realized he was still a relatively young man now stuck with an older woman who wasn't quite as dazzling as he thought she was when he was a kid.

I was a couple years into my teaching career working with 2nd Graders in WA state, just a few hours away. 1. I was disgusted. 2. I reported her and demanded he be removed from her class. And the next year we enrolled him in a private school, where we are free to be very active in his school, unlike most public schools.

The funeral was pathetically sad. Nobody could properly pay for it. I saw it on RUclips. It was around the time my father passed away, and it was so sad to see the difference between his graveside service and hers.
I'm not comparing my father to her as person, but the fact that they had to scrape money together for her and the tacky funeral home dug the dirt as the the family stood by...the casket was .....it was awful
