Being popular in highschool isn’t worth it. Most of them stay the same after highschool. A lot of the unpopular kids end up surpassing them. Be yourself
@@SamoyGoddishawi think she was just nuts but of course Angela was feeling guilty so she presumed the old woman saw something.. well thats my theory. It was stupid though
This movie should be shown to teens out there in order for them to see the cruelty of materialism, peer pressure and bullying. If you can't be pretty, popular and rich, then focus on your studies and be satisfied with what you have. Everyone is special in their own way.
Though I agree, I must be realistic and say that it's not that easy as you put it. Children can't just 'focus on their studies and be grateful for what they have'. They are going through deep rooted emotional problems that needs to be addressed through counselling (not peer counselling, btw).
1st time I ever hear of this story but I'm not surprised! The popular thing with teenagers's too much in the states's highschools....to my opinion, where the most popular bully the other kids.
@@HaramXLI am adding this one to my playlist "Based on True Story". I also have a "Truthful Fiction" playlist. Lots of great movies on them both, and I'm still adding to them, check them out❤
I don't understand why Angela was so fixated on becoming friends with Stacey when she had a genuine friend like Gill. Angela even minimised Stacey's bullying of Monica, "oh, she's just being funny." I wonder, if Stacey had have accepted Angela fully as her friend, would she have been happily coerced into bullying Monica as well?
This was the 80s, where topics like the excesses of materialism and competitivity, as well as bullying, were not as discussed and known as they are today
Angela was so obsessed because in the teenagers world, you sometimes happen to take bad examples and admire the wrong persons...Stacey was the typical popular bitchy badass Miss Popularity queen I feel there are popular girls like Stacey, and they are dominant, so the majority of shy girls wants to act like her, be like her etc.... bad society prototypes and at that age you see them as Gods , but after 20 yrs maybe u remember them and u laugh
I feel so sorry for Angela... she was a good kid . Such a good movie , I saw it countless times ...I think Angela just got scared by the tought the next day , Stacy will bully her at school and everyone will laugh at her ...there are bad moments where each one of us can take wrong decisions
I’m sorry but the cheerleader and her friends weren’t the nicest but Angela was an unhappy lost soul who seemed validation from the wrong people. Normal bully victims can’t even go on with their day without being attacked for being them. Angela was forcing herself into crowds when all she needed to do is be content with her life and the wonderful people around her. She’s a pyscho
True. Angela had more than lots of us in high school - a loyal friend. She was invited to parties, she wasn't bullied, she was successful at writing, she had a loving family that supported her even when she was in trouble. The only person I pity for is Monica. Nobody said sorry to her even though they knew she was innocent. They destroyed her life just for laughs.
The actors did an amazing job! Great message with valuable lessons to learn and take away. To be popular doesn’t mean that you have to be an abusive bully, parents, teachers and principal should have been more aware but kids don’t make this easy; kids keep secrets to avoid humiliation from their school peers, they are afraid to be their true selves to avoid being bullied. Toxic behaviour is deadly and it needs to stop!
@@BriaBarrowstrue they take it with them their whole life I also was been bullied and discriminated on high school and I still think of it and how bad I want to hurt them being so mean to me and it bothers me because it happens still to other innocent teenagers
I have seen this movie more times than I can count. Also followed the actual case that inspired this movie. It's so sad how this young girl ruined her life all in an attempt to belong.
Teenage pressure is the worst type of pressure because you don't know better. I put myself under such demanding academic pressure to please my father that I nearly ruined my life. When you make a mistake it feels like the sky is falling in. It feels like the world is ending. I had a friend in the same high achieving class who attempted suicide because she didnt get the score she wanted.
Didn't realize it was based on real events, but no surprise...yes, pressures are enormous - ironically enough - Switzerland and Japan has highest percentage of suicides by young adults, students...
The truth is: Angela (Bernadette Protti) planned the murder of Stacy (Kristen Costas) from the beginning. Bernadette made an anonymous call to Kristen's mother from a public phone and told her she wanted to invite Kristen to a party. It was an ambush. Bernadette was wearing a t-shirt and pants the night she killed Kristen because she had no intention to go to any party. She drove to a church station and then said or did something that scared Kristen, and Kristen run out of the car. Then, Kristen got a house and knocked asking if she could use the phone. The family guy offered to drive her home. Bernadette followed them. When Kristen was alone again Bernadette killed her with a knife of 45cm that she purposely brought with her. Bernadette was envious and jealous because Kristen was everything she wanted to be.
Unfortunately UK schools are going the same way as US schools…proms were not a thing here back in the 70s/80s…now it’s all about the ‘prom’ nothing about the hard work… it’s all about being pretty and popular 😢
Kellie Martin was one hell of an actress in this movie. I think Tori Spelling was perfect for her role. My two favourite characters were Jill, the bohemian type and Monika the individualist. In Canada where I live, the two latter characters are usually academics or involved in the arts. They are not seen as weirdos.
Kathryn Morris was brilliant in the role of Monica. Even earlier in her career she made an impact even with limited screen time. Superb actress. Monica was for me the most attractive, compelling and interesting of the girls there because she had her own personality.
I was so happy to read that Kellie Martin (47) has been happily married for 25 yrs w/two children. She has a degree in Art History, owns & operates a toy store, has authored a book and is very involved in animal causes. I saw a picture of her w/her family, surrounded by what must be their pet goats and they are a beautiful family.💓
I was so the Ange of high school, didnt get into a play i auditioned for & the sports team i wanted to be in, my parents did their best but didnt have alot of money so was made fun of my clothing & wanted desperately to fit in with the popular girls who just rejected me. Im not saying theres any excuse for murder but completely understand the frustration, being disheartened & feeling like a failure. I would love to go back in time and tell my young self none of that stuff mattered!
This movie was part of the frog in the water affect. The beginning of passing the blame. Yes, she lived with pressure to fit in. Millions of kids have. But she went too far. She killed someone in anger. Her actions were wrong and she had to face the consequences. Millions of kids chose NOT to kill despite facing similar or worse situations,
Exactly. Especially when Stacey didn't do anything wrong. It's Angela that was obsessed with popularity. Can't believe some people make killer out to be a victim
Seen this film so many times over the years. I first watched it as a teenager and could relate to Angela so much because I was a bit of an outcast myself not having the latest brand name items and not having much money. High school can be really tough. The scene where Angela's mother comes to get her at school always gets me. It always gets me when she says ''Don't hate me Mom''. It's a very good movie and I think a lot of teenagers would benefit from watching it. I wish I could tell teens that are going through bullying and feelings of being cast out, that high school doesn't last forever and you will be out of that situation and moved on to better things.

Very sad movie... But the reality is that the society puts such pressure on the kids... It should not be to be the best, but do your best. That should be the emphasis. Kids should be taught that each one is gifted in some way and they must be encouraged to find their gifts and capitalize on them. They must be taught to respect everyone and not bully them. This is our responsibility as the community, society, school, church and home.
I think we all experienced this kind of separation of the “popular” and “unpopular” in school, but nah this was 😩 Angela honestly never stood a chance because they put so much emphasis on popularity and beauty in the school. She felt like a loser. There needed to be more clubs for students who weren’t popular, but the school didn’t help because they set the standard for what they thought was “the best”
I rather have a true friend who is loyal, compassion and honest to me then having so called fake friends! Her best friend is a loyal friend stay being friends with her those’s girls will not stay loyal for long!
Yeah depending on where shes horrible or nice, the popular girl at my middle school was a bully, so people would try and be her friend so as not to the target of her “jokes” even now in my 40s I remember it vividly…….. girls can be very cruel
The character of Angela was so well played. You start to feel sorry for her. Because deep down we've all struggled with wanting to be accepted. But you then forget. The evil crime she actually committed and continued to make excuses for. And I'm so sure Kirsten's actual family don't see her as this poor little girl.
Brilliant movie, loved it. Great cast and acting !!! 1:02:37 James Avery known as Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, great actor / legend. RIP ❤️🙏❤️ Thank you for downloading this. (03/06/2023)
Tbh I don't quite like Angie's demeanor. Everyone has a specific vibe, style and body type but Angie is obviously dorky, with a grandma fashion sense and timid body language. I'm not saying she is inferior and the other girls are better. I'm just saying there is room for improvement for Angie and it takes time and effort (to learn about style, and to be fit). She is forcing herself to a circle that she doesn't belong to. And when she doesn't get what she wants, she lashes out? She is not all that innocent. Also the way Angie is obsessed with Stacey is alarming. You can be angry, disappointed and all that but when you stab someone who is defenceless, you are a monster. Don't tell me she is not secretly jealous of Stacey. Just providing a different perspective.
No one deserves to die for being a bully, but they sure deserve to be put in their place. The girl from the true story was a bully, but that usually comes with being pretty and popular. She should have faced the consequences of her actions, death was not the answer. But everyone also knows that attitude first comes from what you see at home, the parents in this movie sure think highly of themselves and of Stacey, they believe that no rules apply to them or their daughter because they are rich, beautiful and successful. Think again.
such the biggest bully, the best ending would of been put in her place as it looks like no one wanted to stand up to her, if you think to Mean Girls she was put in her place finally by Katy and Janice, they all agreed not to back stab and just accept each other
@@CurvyCass1982 Unfortunately for the most part they are, it just comes with being praised and thus thinking that you are better than everyone else. I have met a few though who were really kind but that is a minority nowadays.
A movie about acceptance into the popular group in school...oh dear...I remember it all as well..but this was real nasty stuff and pathetic, too. Pity, popularity doesn't mean stepping on someone's toes. Did she deserve to die? Hmmm ..some say yes.....but who are we to be judge, jury and executioner?! Think about it. The world is a horrible place only if you let the world get to you. Be yourself, love yourself. That's important. Respect yourself then only will others respect you.
Angela was extremely insecure and wanted to be liked by Stacey so bad.! I wish she just dealt with her insecurities instead of killing that girl . Just a sad situation over all
I thought she was a writer in the movie. Maybe she could have written her feelings out in a journal. When I was a teenager I wrote songs about feeling unpopular (and sung them while playing the guitar also).
This just reminds me of how intensely I hated school. The social barbary, the bullying and constant threat of being taunted for daring to be yourself. Looking back I don't understand why the popular girls were popular in the first place. In my corner of the world (Denmark) you had to have long blonde hair, smartly dressed and be good at football. It did not matter if you were the best student for the entire duration of your school years, a nice person and a good and caring fellow student. It's all just a shallow knee drop to stupidity and cruelty.
Ahh, school 🤢. I was in school in 1990s Poland, it was all the same. Lots of Stacies, mean b*tches popular because they were skinny, had good clothes, smoked, drunk and had s*x. All the things I despised, the result was predictable
This was so sad. Kellie Martin nailed it in her performance. She made you feel sorry for her and i adored her family. So sweet. Felt sorry for Angela as well as the girl who died. Such a sad sad story. I hope there was forgiveness at some point in their lives both families that is.
Omg, I needed a lot of time to process that this is the reality of social order in American high schools and colleges. So superficial, primitive, sad and shocking...🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Oh, my, the story of being popular at the cost of those who arent. My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered from a situation like this. What a sad story.
I was never popular in high school, but I've always blended in with the popular girls for some reason, & we weren't mean to other peers. They're still my friends, even though we're miles apart. I think being confident & loving yourself is one of the keys 😅
Yes when I look back and think of popular girls from my youth they weren’t mean just a confidence I wish I had . I was friendly with them but not one of them . Having confidence from young age is a huge help
People always say Stacy deserved it because she bullied Angela. The irony is, Stacy never really bullied Angela. She just tolerated her but aside from as few snide comments, Stacy didn't do anything to Angela. She even accepted Angela's fake invitation. Angela rarely stood up for Monica when she was being bullied, she allowed Monica to take the blame and be harassed out of school. And if Stacy had accepted Angela, she'd be happy to be part of the cool clique and laugh at Stacy's nasty comments. She's no saint.
This is such a thoughtful film about the agonies of being a teenager. That angst to be in the "in crowd" doesn't always disappear even when people leave their teenage years behind. It's such a good thing when people finally stop caring about all that stuff. I didn't agree with the judge's view about the court case being unnecessary because no matter who (or how unpleasant) the murder victim was, like all victim's families, their family deserve answers.
He didn't say it was unnecessary in that way - he meant that the sentence was the same for 1st degree as it was for 2nd degree so there was no point in going to trial. she confessed so waste of money to hold the trial for same sentence
Everybody going on about poor Angela’s family being skint etc and her not having the best of things .. jeez ! What about the other girl they refer to as “witch” that poor girl probably took crap every day. Personal and disgusting abuse , yet she doesn’t plunge a knife into a girls back. Monica took the crap for the murder for a while and if Angela could have gotten away with it she probably never would have came clean. She knew the cops were homing in on her . Whilst bullying is vile and Stacy’s mind and childish behavior is not acceptable , murder is not to be sympathized . Angela had a loving family , nice home and her health. Love these movies though!
which one? Kelly or Toni? They were pretty well known at the time. Valerie Harper is playing a bit part as mom, but she was way more famous that any of them! Tori Spelling just had a rich daddy, who tried to make roles for her to play.
@@lisawentworth6831 I assume they meant Kelly. Tori (not Toni) was in the movie just at the beginning of the movie...so I wouldn't call her a main girl.
Tbh I don't. I had no friend in school, people bullied me like hell - she had a nice sister, two loving parents and a loyal friend like Gill. The person I feel sorry for is Monica
I hate how inaccurate this movie is. A lack of respect to the victim and her family. It has been proved that Kirsten (the victim, the cheerleader) was not a bully! The bully was Bernadette (the killer), she was OBSSESED with the victim and she bullied her constantly. This was constatated by their classmates. This movie is a SHAME.
That girl for me had everything (Angela)..good parents..an amazing friend (Jill)who needs more? she was smart, beautiful..she didn't need that girl with the bad attitude(maybe her parents should teach her to be more kind with the other people)ofc I don't think anyone wanted her to die),..it's so sad😢 Angela could do so much with her life...
i hate the message the headteacher was sending to the students you can imagine he had his prime time in high school and he was reliving his glory years as head teacher
Yeah, being second best isn't good enough? So, a kid comes home from school and tells him mom he got a "B" in math and his mom says, "Good for you" and the son says "Nah ma, I'm a loser, the principal said second best isn't good enough."😢🙄
This is so much better than these stupid re makes.. like The Elm films… NOTHING could beat the originals.!! Apprently Tori Spelling hated her looks and had real bad issues with it despite herdads fame and riches., bless her. I adore Marley Shelton too
SPOILER ALERT !!! The only person who was responsible for what happened here was the girl who took a life. It's understandable that she was humiliated & that she could certainly look forward to brutal teasing once she returned to school. None of that mitigates what she did. She made the decision to use that knife, she made the decision to kill that girl, she followed her home when a perfect stranger was attempting to help. She had plenty of time to think through her actions. If she was capable of planning the murder & seeing it thru to avoid the humiliation of that bully then she was with it enough to make another plan & just drive herself home. She stabbed her repeatedly with the intent to kill & them ran away without attempting to help at all.She was unbalanced, incredibly intense & knew at all times that she'd done wrong.
Yep, she went from playing sweet and kind hearted popular girl in Beverly Hills 90210 to a bitchy popular girl in this film, though I think Tori recorded this film whilst in Beverly Hills 90210, judging from the year this film was made
No one has mentioned the disgusting twisting of words and threat and accusation to have Angela labeled as a lesbian which at that time was a social death sentence to which I'm sure many teenagers have committed suicide because of that. Angela saw that accusation however false it was as a death sentence at that minute and really went insane when unfortunately her hand fell on the handle of the knife. Her rage at the cruelty of this girl actually mostly to others and Angela's immature comprehension of subtle rules and in the end not realize that the friend she sought was not worth her time. It is most unfortunate that she was not accepted to the staff of the school newspaper.
I was the most popular girl in my high school and I ended up a junkie for 12 years. But even though I was popular, I never ever ever bullied anyone or made fun of ppl. I was very good looking in school and had a lot of lads that fancied me, so In Order for them to get in my good books lol, I would make them hit bullies or a least threaten the bullies not to be mean to other kids. I wasn’t a bitch popular girl I was popular and nice to everyone, everyone used to say, Jess is so nice and pretty. Yes I was nice but also naive and after meeting an older boy wen I was 16, he got me into heroin and crack. And took me 12 years to get off it. I’ve been clean 2 years but I’m still on 60ml of methadone daily and probably wil be for rest of my life. I once walked into my pharmacy and the new pharmacist was a quiet girl i went to school with, she showed me nothing but respect wen she knew what I was there, because I was kind to her in school. Xx
I feel they casted based on personalities not really looks. Kellie comes across as naive , impressionable while tori has this obnoxious air around her.
She was but Angela was incredibly annoying at the beginning and then transformed in a disturbed and obsessed individual that needed psychiatric help... You don't just kill someone because they do not want you as their friend! You also do not stalk them and scare the bejesus out of them. Nowaday she would be considered a stalker.
@@kitty_s23456it unfair hold something against someone for something they did as a teen. I don't condone this behavior but it is typical teen behavior. At a ceartin age you are immature and don't know any better . Had Kirsten not been robbed of a chance of growing up she might have matured and realized that behavior was not right
I watched this movie when I was really young with my mom and last year I watched a french youtuber explaining the Kirsten Costas case and I know it seemed familiar but I couldn't remember it. I really loved this movie but watching the murderer getting portrayed as the actual victim kinda make me mad because she wasn’t and she should still be in prison...
I was shocked when i found out that this movie was based on a true story. The fact that Bernadette Protti (Angela) was released, changed her name and started her own family is so unfair. Kirsten Costas (Stacey) is still dead and she will never get her second chance.
Maybe in her next life she won't be a bully karma gets you in many shapes and form. People alt to teach their kids not to bully. Not that I condone what this girl did to this bully but karma can get ya
Right! Jill was a better friend to her than she was to her, Jill always tried to build her up and support her and all Ang did in return was sulk in self pity and talk about Stacey and conspire, and try to force her way in to a place she didnt belong, she wasnt a friend to Jill at all, she'd dump Jill so quick without a thought if her opportunity to be apart of Stacey's circle came up, Ang is incredibly self centered, I feel the most sorry for for the parents on both sides and Jill and Monica
I just finished the 2019 remake of this movie and I’ve come to watch the original. I still feel so bad for Kirsten Costas I can’t imagine what she must of been feeling in that moment 😢poor girl didn’t deserve that at all may she rest in peace just shows what pressure some teens are under to be “perfect” I do feel sad for for Bernadette Protti she seemed like a very sick kid that needed help and had so much pressure to be perfect but that doesn’t give her the right to kill an innocent kid such a heartbreaking case ALL OF IT
This was a good film. I remember those school days when being popular was everything. This was just a sad state of affairs. I wonder what she's doing with her life now.
The poor girl just wanted to be part of the "in crowd" because all her friends were. She was made fun of because she wasn't as "cool" as some of the others and she tried way too hard to make them like her which made her look clingy. Then she wasn't accepted into the clique. Cliques are cruel because it's like an invisible door slammed in your face for no obvious reason and Angela couldn't accept that, despite how hard she tried she wasn't good enough and popular enough to be part of the clique. We all feel like that when we're cruelly made fun of. Where we live, what our parents do. The worst are teachers who are far worse than the peers with their "favourites" so what Angela did was try and befriend the Queen B. When the Queen B lashed out and made fun of Angela, she snapped. It was definitely not murder in the first degree as it was not planned in any shape or form. I as Angela was a mess. It wasn't even 2nd degree murder as again Angela was a mess. It had to be involuntary manslaughter. However overall the school system putting undue pressure and the tolerating of cliques which is a form of bullying and always was is as much to blame. Angela's supposed best friend who was nothing more than a sheep and refused to speak up was also guilty. This showing remorse by changing schools was just self justification.
I didn't feel sorry for Angela in the slightest. She had a wonderful friend in Jill and a loving supportive family. Yet she was obsessed and admired the awful bitchy cruel nasty Stacy and her followers. Stacy was a total cow but didn't deserve to die, Angela should have cherished Jill and ignored the mean girls. The fact she only served 7 years was an abomination. ( Based on the murder of Kirsten Costas by Bernadette Protti ).
I was the same age as these teen girls at the time this movie was made ,and watched shows and movies featuring them back in the days ... Brings back good memories of the early 90 ' s
@@karlheinz4265This is based on a true story and that is a very harsh thing to say. The family of the real victim has to live with that loss every day.
Great movie! There was a story of a young asian girl who killed her friend because she kept insulting her calling her fat. The lesson, watch what you say, there is danger in speaking nasty words.😮
Let's say it was your daughter or realative that was killed ,would you still feel sorry for this WICKED teenager killer? There is no excuse! Eye for an eye!
Couldn’t agree with you more. I think people forget that the actual victim’s in this are obviously the girl herself but also her family who will always suffer because they’ll never get to see their daughter/sister etc again. As a mother I also can’t imagine how many times her parents would have tortured themselves with imagining how much pain their child went through being stabbed several times. The Stacey character was definitely a class A bitch and I could definitely understand people not having any sympathy if she’d been given a good beating by someone she was bullying or had bullied in the past, but to stab someone over and over and take their life because they don’t particularly like you or want to be your friend is a pretty extreme reaction that thankfully not many of us would or could ever do to another person no matter how angry, let down or humiliated we felt. For most of us it’s just not in our make up. (Unless my children were under threat of harm from someone🐻) As much as I detest bullying I don’t think the punishment here in any way fit the crime. Also remember that not long before she stabbed and killed her Angela had just been telling Stacey how much she admired her and really wished she was like her. She knew how badly Stacey treated people so why would she idolise her and what kind of person did that make Angela? She didn’t lose it with her due to anger over the merciless bullying of Monika or any other girls she killed her because of her own rage that she couldn’t force Stacey to like her and knew she would never accept her as a friend or an equal. Sad story all round but there’s only one person from it who will never get the chance to have possibly changed and became a better person.
Why is this movie so quick to want to paint Angela as victim? Like yes Stacey wasn't the best person (though throughout my years of watching mean girls in movies her actions are somewhere near the lower middle in terms of cruelty) but she didn't deserve to be murdered especially in that way. The Larks had very understandable if intense reactions to her death and this movie acts like they're hades hounds. Also Monica wasn't a suspect because she was a goth but because she threatened to kill her multiple times in public.
Her life is over after she didn't make it onto a less than mediocre high school cheerleading squad? I can imagine feeling that way at that age after a breakup, but cheerleading? What in the world?
The only comment I agreed with was from the Principal. Angela had a supportive friend, understanding parents, a sister that provide guidance. The only one with the real pressure was Angela towards herself! She wanted to be everything she's unable to be and the only way she could accept defeat is to turn the rival into a friend and when that didn't happen then the rival needs to be out permanently.. so this all leads back to what the Principal said -A sick kid!
well...she was a bit of a psycho. She had loving friends and family, but at teenage, she decided, at that moment, she had to be the 'best' in what that looked like in High School. Only a psycho would kill for that popularity...and she did
The principal only gave his attention to the popular kids, he put pressure on the kids to be their best and denied that there was a huge bully issue in his school. You agree with the character who played the principal, which tells me that you’re part of the problem!
I feel like her family was emotionally disconnected. They didn’t really support her dreams and her life was honestly boring…she felt like she couldn’t relate to anyone and no one encouraged her
For heavens sakes u dont have to kill, just dont fall in with the wrong crowed. Tis all. I fell in with so many wrong crowds and im happy i did because now i understand more about how personalities work and now i can recognise very easily who is right for me and who is completely terrible and the worst i ever did to my annoying loud and mean "friend" was dumping her and ive grown happier and i think so has she, and nobody was hurt in the long run. Simple.
@clearsky4003 this is what my perspective was of her. She probably also had her other perspectives about me. I'm not saying I'm perfect. All I was pointing out, was that she was bad for me. I didn't say she was bad. And I was probably bad for her, I don't know at all how she saw me. I'm not in her shoes. However the reason y I broke up with her was precisely because I didn't want to be around her anymore. I'm not just saying she was terrible and I was completely right as a friend. I'm just saying, she hurt me alot and I was exhausted and unhappy around her, so rightfully so, I dumped her. I don't have to stay with someone I'm unhappy with.
It bothers me that this movie made stacy the villian like in real life kristin was the victim that girl had no right to take someone life just becuse she was jealous and people said is because she was bullied
When evil people chose to be cruel, they make the choice, the people their cruel to don't make the choice, I have no sympathy for bullies when the get karna. Their victi s are affected for life.
Yes, kids can be mean - I was relentlessly teased throughout my childhood about a lot of things I wasn't pretty confident or popular and the mean kids mentally scar you for the rest of your life! I was picked on from age 4 - 17 and it doesn't leave you I'm 48 now and still think of cruel kids and sometimes I get weird looks off people in the street now but I have learnt to ignore it, I am a sweet person is all that matters not my looks!!🙂

Being popular in highschool isn’t worth it. Most of them stay the same after highschool. A lot of the unpopular kids end up surpassing them. Be yourself

As someone who had a couple counselors through my years of education, I can safely attest that it does not help. Therapy is what is needed.
Too much pressure on yuong people Even olet people are humans so...
@Donnell Okafor exactly. And prioritise your education.
This should be shown to the Kardashians and their kids . That family has single handily botched an entire generation of morals and physically

One of the best Tori Spelling movies from the 90s.
Any others you could recommend?
1st time I ever hear of this story but I'm not surprised! The popular thing with teenagers's too much in the states's highschools....to my opinion, where the most popular bully the other kids.

Maybe she would have turned on Gill too.

It was a great movie and very good lesson to our children and I hope they will watch this movie. ....thanks for sharing 👌👍👍👍
@@clearsky4003 I’m commenting on a murderer I did not make these comments before that and I am also not a criminal lol
She wasn't bullied. She was a sickos
She did not have to confess 😎
The actors did an amazing job! Great message with valuable lessons to learn and take away. To be popular doesn’t mean that you have to be an abusive bully, parents, teachers and principal should have been more aware but kids don’t make this easy; kids keep secrets to avoid humiliation from their school peers, they are afraid to be their true selves to avoid being bullied. Toxic behaviour is deadly and it needs to stop!
And it sometimes doesn’t stop after highschool
@@BriaBarrowstrue they take it with them their whole life I also was been bullied and discriminated on high school and I still think of it and how bad I want to hurt them being so mean to me and it bothers me because it happens still to other innocent teenagers

Absolutely amazing movie. The central themes run very deep and are more applicable today than ever before.
I didn't understand it as this girl had a loving family which is very important when growing up.
Didn't realize it was based on real events, but no surprise...yes, pressures are enormous - ironically enough - Switzerland and Japan has highest percentage of suicides by young adults, students...
she was so maddening in this, like a Stacy stalker..Kelli M..sometimes get those parts were it makes her look like a real idiot!
@@Ace-ke7fqThank you! I found Kellie M completely irritating in this movie! Happy to know that it's not just me with this opinion...x

Brattishness and American invention infecting UK through t.v.!
I remember school in 1990s Poland, being bullied by a bunch of Stacies. It's all the same everywhere, just without cheerleading.
Tori played this role a little too well, lol
Kathryn Morris was brilliant in the role of Monica. Even earlier in her career she made an impact even with limited screen time. Superb actress. Monica was for me the most attractive, compelling and interesting of the girls there because she had her own personality.
I was so happy to read that Kellie Martin (47) has been happily married for 25 yrs w/two children. She has a degree in Art History, owns & operates a toy store, has authored a book and is very involved in animal causes. I saw a picture of her w/her family, surrounded by what must be their pet goats and they are a beautiful family.💓
@@BriaBarrowsbecause she was known to be a bitch irl- esp when she was younger. Mainly because of who her dad was.

Millions of kids chose NOT to kill despite facing similar or worse situations,
No, a lot just kill themselves. So why aren't the ones responsible for that punished? The ones who drive them over the edge.
Exactly. Especially when Stacey didn't do anything wrong. It's Angela that was obsessed with popularity. Can't believe some people make killer out to be a victim
Agree! unfortunately she only faced seven years. I'm not hard core for life long imprisonment of 'crime of passion' teen killers but come on
True. I could tell that she lacks self control, and that's a very dangerous thing to have.

She felt like a loser. There needed to be more clubs for students who weren’t popular, but the school didn’t help because they set the standard for what they thought was “the best”

Nicely said. I totally agree ❤
I agree with what you said except for the fit part. Angie was already slim

That letter is so brilliantly read. I teared up hearing it. Her poor parents having to read that.

The movie teaches us a valuable lesson, never talk to the cops !!!
😂 You’re right.

😂
People always say Stacy deserved it because she bullied Angela. The irony is, Stacy never really bullied Angela. She just tolerated her but aside from as few snide comments, Stacy didn't do anything to Angela. She even accepted Angela's fake invitation.
Angela rarely stood up for Monica when she was being bullied, she allowed Monica to take the blame and be harassed out of school. And if Stacy had accepted Angela, she'd be happy to be part of the cool clique and laugh at Stacy's nasty comments. She's no saint.
I think Angela would have also turned on Gill, had Stacey been more accepting of the friendship Angela so desperately wanted.
Wow what twisted, sick people to think that it was the victims fault she was murdered..
Is anyone gonna talk about how that adult guy that drove Stacey just drove away once he heard the screams?!
It was none of his buisness 😊
This is such a thoughtful film about the agonies of being a teenager.
That angst to be in the "in crowd" doesn't always disappear even when people leave their teenage years behind.
It's such a good thing when people finally stop caring about all that stuff.
I didn't agree with the judge's view about the court case being unnecessary because no matter who (or how unpleasant) the murder victim was, like all victim's families, their family deserve answers.
Grosse, point blank.
Dufus.

That’s why I like the 2018 version better. The character based on Kirsten seemed more like Kirsten than the character in this version.
The look he gave Stacy when he said things about her cheerleading trials... Yuck. Just like he was sexually interested in her
One of the saddest TV movies for me. Kellie and Tori were both very well cast.
A very good motivational movie to watch based on actual events...
This is so much better than these stupid re makes.. like The Elm films… NOTHING could beat the originals.!! Apprently Tori Spelling hated her looks and had real bad issues with it despite herdads fame and riches., bless her. I adore Marley Shelton too
She hated her looks cause she is not pretty ,she simply knew that
Horse face
😂 but I was trying to be kind..
I liked Marley Shelton also - she performed well in A Secret Between Friends also.
I honestly think she snapped and also had some underlying issues going on. Cause her obsession with Stacy was extreme
She was breaking down mentally
Nobody knows how this girl felt being humiliated buy this awful snob, but still no reason to murder
@@BriaBarrows both her and Tori Spelling's character had their own inner demons.
@@micoxlong5817she clearly had underlying issues which paired with bullying was a recipe for disaster
Great movie with Tori Spelling👌🏼
Yep, she went from playing sweet and kind hearted popular girl in Beverly Hills 90210 to a bitchy popular girl in this film, though I think Tori recorded this film whilst in Beverly Hills 90210, judging from the year this film was made
Jealousy in highest order !!! Stupid jealous girl! And few days after she plays hurt and unstable.. no, she was not ! She was so jealous!!
I love you for saying this. Nothing worse than a jealous girl
Really I hate this Angela.
@clearsky4003 Lol but I don't care
Seen this movie years ago, but good to watch again
Crazy the whole time Stacy saw angela as a threat as soon as she died she became the popular girl
Xx
Well said, Jess. I hope you continue to do well. Take care.
Don't Bully, eventually that person you are bullying will snap.
Slight miscasting here, Kellie Martin is very pretty and Tori Spelling is as plain as they come.
The complete antithesis of the real event.
I feel they casted based on personalities not really looks. Kellie comes across as naive , impressionable while tori has this obnoxious air around her.
Good film and I have to be biased to my Swedish Volvo 740. That make was so popular back then
Stacy was a terrible obnoxious teenager omg.
I went to school with a Stacy. 40 years later she's still a Stacy.
Angela is s psycho
Stacy was the "Regina George" of mean girls. The queen bee at the time. Mean girl, but she didn't deserve to die.
Was it McSkyz?
Thank you, TheArchiveTV.
Cried watching this. Felt so sorry for Angela 🥺. I just wish she felt better about herself...
Feel sorry for the girl she viciously killed!
@@w_b_c3014Angela is a psycho and a demented person ,the popular girl WASN'T a bully
She was a bully but Angela is a murderer.
@@w_b_c3014 Telling a person you dont want to be friend with them does not make you a bully nor does it give a person a right to take youre life .
She had a good family and a good friend.
Yes she did. A beautiful family and a truly good friend. I felt the pain for all involved
Looking at the comments I can see a lot of people don’t know this is actually a true story. That’s what makes it even sadder. This is real
I just finished the 2019 remake of this movie and I’ve come to watch the original. I still feel so bad for Kirsten Costas I can’t imagine what she must of been feeling in that moment 😢poor girl didn’t deserve that at all may she rest in peace
just shows what pressure some teens are under to be “perfect” I do feel sad for for Bernadette Protti she seemed like a very sick kid that needed help and had so much pressure to be perfect but that doesn’t give her the right to kill an innocent kid such a heartbreaking case ALL OF IT
She didn’t deserve it but she was evil as hell
What is the title of the remake?
@Bria Barrows she definitely was evil.
The remake was trash
@Bria Barrows yeah, I watched it yesterday. Utter rubbish.
That girl was nuts from the very beginning!
Thanks for sharing this very good movie!
I guess if she had key to go in her house she would be alive
I was the same age as these teen girls at the time this movie was made ,and watched shows and movies featuring them back in the days ... Brings back good memories of the early 90 ' s
Tori spelling is such a good actress. I don’t know why she doesn’t continue to do lifetime movies
I agree! I like her in Beverly Hills too. I guess shes too busy in life with her husband and kids.
She has 5 kids, could be one reason why. Would be nice to see her act soon. Maybe on Netflix…
Probably because like many women in Hollywood they are passed over for younger versions of themselves.
She could use the work, her and her kids were living in a trailer shopping at walmart last news I heard of her
@@notimetodienttd1115they divorced and her and the kids are living in a trailer by the beach pretending they're on vacation! Google it
I would definitely switch schools cause this is hell
No justification for murder. Movie was made to make us feel sorry for the murderer. The victims family must be devastated.
The parents were responsible of their daughter's education, they are responsible of her being killed as much as the killer
was....
@@karlheinz4265This is based on a true story and that is a very harsh thing to say. The family of the real victim has to live with that loss every day.
@@EmmaJC-ts9gu OK. Didn't know it was a true story. No matter what the victim was a bitch...
Well yeah should be sorry for the person that killed her , Stacey and her goonies led her to kill her
@@SunflowerA12 I’m talking about the actual case this was based on, not Stacey.
Great movie! There was a story of a young asian girl who killed her friend because she kept insulting her calling her fat. The lesson, watch what you say, there is danger in speaking nasty words.😮
Tres bon film!Merci pour le partage! 😢🐞🦋🌹
I have always liked Valerie Harper...good movie thank you for the upload 😊
I love Jamie and she also did great in when friendship kills ❤
(Unless my children were under threat of harm from someone🐻)
As much as I detest bullying I don’t think the punishment here in any way fit the crime.
What if your daughter was the perpetrator at age 16 would you say eye for an eye still ?
Yes an eye for an eye
What an annoying girl. Killing another girl, living happily ever after. Got 7 years in jail. Does not feel right.
The principal was part of the problem.
well...she was a bit of a psycho.
They didn’t really support her dreams and her life was honestly boring…she felt like she couldn’t relate to anyone and no one encouraged her
You have a point
For heavens sakes u dont have to kill, just dont fall in with the wrong crowed.
Tis all.
I fell in with so many wrong crowds and im happy i did because now i understand more about how personalities work and now i can recognise very easily who is right for me and who is completely terrible and the worst i ever did to my annoying loud and mean "friend" was dumping her and ive grown happier and i think so has she, and nobody was hurt in the long run.
Simple.
Well explained 👏🏾👌🏾

Welp. Can't say I'm sad that Stacy was whacked.
