I am not saying he did it; but what I can say about men for sure is , that when they get another woman out of marriage, they don’t care about how many times you wash their cloth, clean the house, take care of the kids that both supposedly are responsible to protect, those kind of man becomes evil. They want you and those children completely out of their life. I would tell my story and he was a philosopher, it’s too painful! No matter what he does he will always be John Boy to me and oddly enough Richard lol ain't that the name of the character he played in that one movie that was also based in a true story where he was a stalker. Stalking Laura. That was the name of it. I believe his name was Richard in that one And he's Richard here and he's really Richard in real life. Idk who named him but they nailed it! 😁 Lol he's definitely a Richard!
Innocent or not, he sealed his fate when he brought his mistress in the house so soon after his wife's death. No loving father as he portraited himself to be, would subject his children to such a thing so soon after their mother's death.
Also, he didn't know the cause of Nancy's untimely death; she was a young, vibrant, healthy woman. He never questioned what caused her sudden, agonizing death. Though his case rested on much circumstantial evidence, I still feel he's the culprit, not Nancy's brother, as some seem to speculate. Circumstantial evidence, depending on its context, can seal a person's fate.
I was so upset when he did that ?! And her saying the phone was for her, like she moved in already ?! You bringing another woman into the same house where you and your former wife spent years together in ?! Wow 😮😮

I truly believe that her family is covering for the brother. I think the brother did it because he always had a disdain for Richard, and the sibs had an unspoken relationship. Its quite sad that her family will use their money, to get whatever it is they wanted knowing damn well that the son, hasnt changed. RIP Nancy and Richard
I don't think that's how the human mind works. There is scientific evidence that men, especially, can "compartmentalise" their emotions and actions, on different subjects.
@@wendischofield352 This is why there tends to be a double standard about adultery. Men can compartmentalize sex and make it totally separate from love or even emotion. It can be basically recreational. So they can still love their wife and family but separate their fun and games on the side. Women are generally different and usually sexual relations are entered into only when they are emotionally involved as well. So a women's infidelity would be a sign of an even more dysfunctional marriage than when a man does it. Of course from a Christian perspective ANY adultery is sin. I am just pointing out that men and women have some basic differences in how they think. Some wives even have the attitude that "when the bull goes over to the next field, it just gives the cow a chance to get a rest!" Men would never have such a casual attitude like that about their wife. In most Latin countries married men with a mistress is just par for the course. I am not condoning it because I believe what the word of God teaches about it being sin.
Richard is so lowdown. He destroyed his wife slowly and torturously he broke her familys hearts and tried to set up her brother and assasinate his character publicly. Richard would stop at nothing to acheive his sick ends

Lifetime movies from the 90s are the best, great human dramas and fantastic writing. Nowadays they are such cliches, shallow dialogues and half hearted acting.
It is shockingly absurd that the Defense did not have to give copies of all the information they had to the Prosecution. How could each side prepare for trial?? I assumed that was the law in every state. Sharing all info with both sides is the law where I live.

I can't imagine someone wanting to poison another person. I've done some real bad things in the past but this takes the Cake.

So many underrated actors and especially in these movies. Richard Thomas is brilliant! Loved these movies from 80s and 90s. They were so well done and just far better to watch than what's being made now.
A very deserved guilty verdict!!! Such a cold calculating wicked man 😢
Thank You for sharing a suspenceful and thrilling movie.. The whole cast of actors and actresses played their roles very well. It's amazing how there seems to be more evidence needed to prove Richard Lyon killed his wife although the bruises in law or the nanny should have been questioned. The flick was amazing and I enjoyed it from beginning until the end. G'day from Sydney Australia😌😊
Sondra Locke directed this?? Wow, I am impressed.❤
Clint Eastwood gave her lessons. 👍
Richard Thomas, a good actor.
Yes! Check him out in It!
John boy
Emmy award winning actor🏆
Richard Thomas plays good roles when its a sinister one , have seen him in a few .
Quality upload, many thanks .
Yes absolutely, there are men capable to kill, to take you out of their way!
god now I’m really depressed
And women just as capable but more likely to get away with it
Pure Evil
@@attadudepcActually, statistically women are much more likely to be convicted. Sexism is alive and well in the criminal legal system.
A great movie. Unfortunately a true story. I love the actress who plays the DA.

Yes. That is also what the Bible teaches about lying. When one considers that Satan is the father of lies, it ought to cause us all to reconsider our casual attitude towards telling lies - even the little white kind.

What a monster, and she trusted him until the end.
Silly woman cannot see she is better off without him. It is better to be single than stay in an unhappy marriage.
Amen to THAT !! I stayed with my dirtbag for 15 years longer than I should have. Now he's cheating (and lying, etc)
After enduring years in an abusive marriage..l always say..
" Better to be miserably single, than miserably married"
She needed him on the emotional level! Fear of abandonment!
@@lenitaa7938 Like I said it is better to be on ones own than in an abusive relationship. Once one is on their own they understand the toxicity they endured & ultimately realize they can survive & thrive.

It is a pity that the story is based on real events. The story kept me intrigued till the end but left a bitter taste, like so many criminal acts. The cruelty of lots of people has no limits.
I’m afraid real life is much crueller than fiction.
I didn't know Websters had put the word crueller in the latest edition
Thank you to RUclips for this good old 80's movie. Nice
Ummm...1995 - Not exactly 1980s.
LMN needs to bring this types of movies back.
Tired of their “part-time cupcake shop owner/part-time sleuth, throw the maid over the balcony in the last two minutes of the movie for stealing your baby and man”movies of the 2010’s and 20’s. 😬
😂 that’s accurate it’s funny
😅
Good movie. Really liked how well richard played his role but so sad what happened to the wife.
"Night John boy" . Fascinating case with excellent acting all round .
This was aired in Forensic Files, Season 10, Episode 21 with the title "Writer's Block. He was a cold blooded killer with no remorse.
I remember seeing that episode on Forensic Files...those court documents were forged..
Something tells me the brother did it and he framed her husband because they all have money and what not to do so. Richard just seems a bit lost yet the guy that always ends up being the fall guy. I need a part 2 looking at the brother
Such a bad molestation relationship between siblings and being said NO BIG DEAL by parents is very shameful and pathetic upbringing of parents themselves in their childhood and very cheap thinking abilities exhibited by such inhumane people
Definitely...just like the Duggar family regarding Josh...stating he was just being curious...
This Man call his Mistress while his wife is in ICU
Richard Thomas is also in one of the best Outer Limits episodes ever.
The new breed. Yes it's my favorite.❤
I absolutely love old Lifetime movies and TV movies from the 1980s to probably the really early 2000s. I was born in 1988 and remember these being on TV when tv movies weren’t complete trash. I watch a lot of older stuff because good stuff nowadays is few and far between.
I'm glad I stumbled on this movie coz I love Richard Thomas since The Waltons 👍
As it turns out john-boy's schooling made him "woke". 😒
I know you will hate me, but he always gives me the super creeps😵💫Sorry. Can’t stand him.
@@annamarielewis7078 He does me too. If I seen him in real life honestly I'd probably run
@@annamarielewis7078 I feel the same way you do. He gives me the Creeps. So his Acting must be Amazing. But still a Creep.
Tess Harper is so beautiful besides being a good actress. Underrated in my opinion.
Agree! I'd like ro see Tess harper and Mare Winningham ( who is underated also) in a movie together.
You should see her starring in The Killing Secret... she's amazing in that movie beautiful Blue eyes
Right
I was so upset when he did that ?! And her saying the phone was for her, like she moved in already ?! You bringing another woman into the same house where you and your former wife spent years together in ?! Wow 😮😮
@marlanaferro1558
I completely agree with you.
@tayladunn7490
I was flabbergasted! Like she built the house with her bare hands! Home wreckers are really disgusting.
i love Richard Thomas acting and he good at what he does
Richard Thomas was excellent in all quiet on the western front. He took the book and made the role his
He just know how to update his acting for every role he is given he never dissapoinment audience . Great real actor very underrated..
I remember gary frank who played her brother here .. was on family .. i am aging myself but what a great show it was. Omg i miss yesterday . I miss my mom terribly but she wouldnt like these times

He called his mistress but not the hospital to find out what killed his wife
Did that really happen? Or is it just the film presentation, the dramatization of events?
They said it's a true story
Saw this on forensic files. Very sad case Richard really thought he would go free and move on with his mistress
It’s been so odd that the last couple movies I’ve watched have Tess Harper in them!! I just finished watching the entire Breaking Bad series, and yet here Tess Harper shows up in my suggested movies to watch!
@RadMc02
It's just the algorithm. Nothing odd about that. (Did I spell that right?)
@@Southamericangirl42 I think you spelled it right. I watched the entire Breaking Bad series at my brother’s for like 5 weekends in a row. So not from any of my devices. Although, it wouldn’t surprise me if my phone was listening. Which would be included in my algorithm for sure! You may be right!
Was more lonely when I was married than iv ever been on my own.
being alone is less complicated.
There now. 😢
Me too I live with my guide dog just the 2 of us thank goodness and I am never longley. I get up when I want, go to bed when I want, I eat what I want.

Being the villain in movies, really work's well for Richard Thomas.
I know. Such an incredible actor!
Hell Yes!!!!!
Thank you for this movie 🍿 R.I.P. NANCY
Thank you for uploading for us. I really enjoy the fact that I could read the transcript along with the movie. That is so cool. Thanks again. Many blessings.
Good old 'John Boy Walton' is such a versatile actor! ... I've seen 'STALKING LAURA', but that is nothing compared to 'DOWN, OUT AND DANGEROUS' ... This was his best film ever, to me! ... I thoroughly recommend it to everyone! 🙂🙂
Did you ever see him in "You'll Like My Mother"? Very young and a very early role for him but another creepy part!😀
@@frauleinmona ... No I haven't but I have previously searched for it on RUclips and there was only a trailer for it, not the full film 😢

I think it was the brother...my opinion...
He got what he deserved ! Richard Thomas is a great actor , any film with him in is worth watching!
Damn, John Boy Walton went from fighting demonic sewer clowns to poisoning his wife, then stalking his coworker? Pennywise must've took a toll on him
I truly believe that her family is covering for the brother. I think the brother did it because he always had a disdain for Richard, and the sibs had an unspoken relationship.
Its quite sad that her family will use their money, to get whatever it is they wanted knowing damn well that the son, hasnt changed.
RIP Nancy and Richard
What a great film. I had a bad day. Thanks for making it better.
I'm so sorry you had a bad day ... I send you a deep hug.
One year later….how’s it going?
Richard Thomas also did Stalking Laura, and To Save The Children, both were also great movies
Stalking Laura was excellent...quite the suspense movie...
I see why their marriage was NOT working out. They were not a match at all. She definitely had her ways. *_That was still no reason to kill her._*
If he loved his girls he wouldn't have killed their mother.
$$$$$$
NOT love of daughters
I don't think that's how the human mind works. There is scientific evidence that men, especially, can "compartmentalise" their emotions and actions, on different subjects.
This is the same as when men claim to love you and abuse you at the same time.
wendi schofield b s. It’s pure narcissism
Richard Thomas could act his John Boy ass off!!!!! Missed him on Broadway in the revival of "The Little Foxes. "

It always cracks me up when I see people laying their heads on a toilet seat in movies. I don't care how clean a toilet is, there's no way in hell that my face is touching a toilet seat lol.

This Man is so evil and he think he is so smart he thought he could come back to his wife drug her and kill her and get the life insurance money and marry his mistress. What's worse no remorse he tried to ruin her character she is dead. True Psychopath
“Writer’s Block,” the Forensic Files episode about Richard’s trial and evidence.
Thank you Holly, will check it out.
Thank you !!!
Thanks!!!
Lifetime movies from the 90s are the best, great human dramas and fantastic writing. Nowadays they are such cliches, shallow dialogues and half hearted acting.
The problem with movie is they suspected the husband rightaway without any prerequisites!!
How often is it correct
It is shockingly absurd that the Defense did not have to give copies of all the information they had to the Prosecution. How could each side prepare for trial?? I assumed that was the law in every state. Sharing all info with both sides is the law where I live.
What do you expect ... it’s Texas ... ffs.

When John Boy lost his innocence... I was quite convinced Gary Frank (the brother) did it, and quite honestly the few twists at the end did let me down. But that's life, such as it can sometimes turn out to be. What a world.
Richard Thomas played some bad ass characters after the Walton's! He must have wanted to play the bad guy after years of a good guy! 😅
