When they started the Podcast, Jake was still referencing the Rosenberg twins as his best friends. In more modern episodes whenever he talks about his best friend, he always says Amir. Besides their wives, they are probably closest to each other.
I hadn't thought of amir in 15 years - i suddenly felt an urge to watch this guy do stand up - and now I'm here. The fact that FIFTEEN YEARS later I have come here I think is enough to say that Amir NEEEEDS to do standup..
Well, the main joke is that he’s proud of his secret driving techniques that ultimately only save him two minutes on a six-hour drive. And then there’s the classic stereotype that Californians never shut the fuck up about traffic.
I had the same experience. A band open mic where I tried stand up for the first time. It went so poorly I vowed to never do stand up again. A year later I got into the stand-up community, started performing again. My best routine was the one I did that for at night, I just could see now how terrible the circumstances were.
Everyone thinks they can do stand up. There are people like this at every open mic and it’s always great to hear them with all the confidence in the world before they go up and then they slink out the door afterwards back into the night never to be seen again.
@@darcybhaiwala7057 oh yeah totally. There are some people though that are just so over confident and cocky about it it almost feels like an insult. “Like oh that? That’s probably so easy and I bet I’m better at it than all of you without having even thought about preparing for this moment!” So I always appreciate those people getting their comeuppance.
I’m just glad my first time doing standup went great. My second time got standup banned from that particular annual event but still got enough people laughing so it didn’t destroy me despite bombing. My third time got some chuckles but most of it kept the small audience completely silent. I’m still not sure if any of my new material is worth trying out when things go back to normal nor am I certain I’ll try again. It sucks that Amir’s first time went so spectacularly poorly. I wonder how many people could have gone on to become great standup comics but didn’t because their first time poisoned the prospect.
How about you put that video up as a fundraising incentive, like if we raise $100,000 for Australia fire relief or another cause then you release the video? Anything? No. Okay
Ironically the self aware “nervous Jew” crack had me dying more than his actual jokes lol. I think Amir could definitely do stand up but he would have to prepare to eat shit quite a few more times before he got good. Also he would have to go to a comedy club and not a music show lmao.
Thomas is perfectly suited to improv. Amir is perfectly suited to a comedy duo with Jake. It’s so scary to think how close they both were to never realizing their potential
I would pay a bad amount of money to see Amir’s comedy routine.
Bad amount? Nah! Bad _you_
Loving the reference
“What’s a bad amount of money. Any amount is a bad amount”-Jake to Amir
It's like the worst amount
Like a really bad amount.
Jake and Amir Watch Amir’s Stand Up. Pleeeeeeease Amir
bad timing? no..... bad you
:O
“Waxing comedic” is my new favorite phrase
"People didn't want my...nervous *JEWASS..."*
You guys don’t understand. I legit want/need dis stand-up footage!
I love them not in character. They have a great friendship. They’re great

Dude, the 5 hrs. 58 minutes joke is legit hilarious.
Please explain the joke I am a complete retard it seems, anyone, please!!

@@ottootto6313 lmao you turned it around so fast.
I count on Jake to make Amir relive an emotionally scarring experience ... EVERY TIME🤣 😂
Seeing Jake lose it at 2:04 is so great.
Honestly...I would pay like...a bad amount of money to watch Amir's standup. I think he is a beast in that regard

Big oof. Vibe and context matters way more than I thought for comedy
the redemption is now, cuz that story was hilarious
We need to see that video. Even if it is 20 years from now, please Amir, please
The shadow on jakes’ shirt appears to be a large coffee stain
simon jonson this is the kinda comment I’m looking for. Many blessings
that distracted me... until I noticed the camera angles from 2:16 to 2:37
It's not pee-proof
Guys, let's start collecting those 100K
This is like my favourite Amir story, I watch at most, like once a month.

ahhh man its tough. i had a great start and I am so anxious to get back up post covid
Mad impressed tho. If you do it and bomb, you're still braver than everyone in the audience

i’d pay like a bad amount of money to see Amir do standup comedy
The joke about the deaf rockstar is good imo
Audience was not ready for a pimp and a cool.
I mean in the roast they made in CollegeHumor he kinda did stand up
And that was actually pretty hilarious imo
Yeah he did good! Maybe its a little different when you're amongst friends who know your comedy and whom you already know like you, helps confidence
henry
Henry!
800 PEOPLE?! JESUS CHRIST HAHHAHA
I would pay good money to see this stand up routine
how much money is a good amount of money
I'd pay a poor amount of money. $3 maybe
Oh man.
I legit like the deaf rock star joke
Now he knows how Streeter felt during his standup xDDD
Bring more guests on the show please!
Lol 😂
lmao
how can i find the full episode
Anyone know what episode this was from? And maybe a general time stamp?
lmfao holy shit
LOL

how 'bout ya don't
nono the world doesn't need to see this!!!
PUT IT IN THE BOX
Don’t take this as a compliment, but that is your best idea yet
Here after i bombed a musical performance
I wonder, of all the bands from that BOTB made it
Amir doesn’t need jokes, he just needs to talk about how he got laid the night before. Or his love for chicken nuggets and beefing!
They were legit slump-busters, for real
Crazy coincidence, but you should check out the Jake and Amir series on college humor, those exact topics are raised!

Thomas Middleditch is one of my favourite comedians and actors of all time but his standup was painful as well haha. Different type of comedy I guess!

do these guys just not age?
Didnt Streeter prank Amir with a bad stand up ?
What episode is this from? I don’t remember this
It’s this weeks release on Patreon
What about the prank series?
Do you not listen to the podcast?
Jake de Medeiros just rewatched the prank war video. In my shit memory, it was Amir bombing. Woah
John Franklin the prank series was completely scripted.
You gotta learn how to be funny, man
