Just finished watching the video and immediately bought the templates. I've been doing art projects my whole life but never something on this scale. As an adult who never grew out of loving dinosaurs with a 6 year old who has shown possibly even more interest than me in my childhood, I'm going to love every second of this build and even moreso when I can show him what daddy has made for him. You have no idea how thankful I am for this video. Much love.

What an incredible project man, thanks for your hard work this is going to be something for me and my son to always remember!
My high school students are getting ready to start cardboard sculptures. This was so great to show them some of the process of creating something cool from what most would think of as trash or recycling. For 20 minutes they sat quietly totally engrossed in what you were making. This was way cool!
Oh that is so sweet! Thank you for letting me know, I'm actually picturing them watching quietly the video lol, a really motivating thought for what I'm doing here! 🙂🙏
I really want to make this for my little brother! He loves dinosaur's, and that dinosaur movie. Looks like I'll be collecting boxes and supplies until I'm ready to get started. I want to add a lil something, I'll paint it and add red LED lights in the eyes so it looks cool and spooky
This is just phenomenal. The amount of craftmanship and generosity of making the price of the template so low! Not many creators do that. You just gained a new subscriber.

@@EpicCardboardProps - You said that the completed model was very heavy. The neck also isn't attached very firmly to the head.If you tried to hang the model I do not think the neck would support the head, So how do you hang it on a wall?
@@donmiller2908 Don't underestimate that connection Don, it is very sturdy and attached firmly. But indeed the problem is more at the base of the neck ... you can't just glue the base on a plate for instance, because with the weight of the head it won't stick for long. What I would do I think is make a kind of pedestal made out of wood with 1 or 2 very long sturdy rods built on it. Then I would make 1 or 2 holes according to the rods I made, on the back of the neck all the way through the neck until inside the mouth. That way these rods will sustain the head efficiently without being visible... but the pedestal and especially the connections between the rods and the pedestal would have to be very sturdy though. That is pretty much the most efficient and "easy" way to do it for me. :)

Glad to hear it Heather, you'll find all templates to make this build in my shop the description box below the video 😉 The process to make the templates is tricky to explain, as it is 70% of the build actually it is impossible for me to summarise it in a few sentences. But basically for this one I found a few good picture of it in different angles and I worked from them doing math drawings and so on... About the nose holes I just positioned them as they are on the reference pictures (that you get with the templates) 🙂
@@EpicCardboardProps Thank you for the response. It is very kind of you. Amazing work, I loved the accent and also I have a question: How long did it take to finish? Because whatever time you took to finish it, I would take mostly three or four times to do it. Anyway I really enjoyed it. Liked and subscribed already.
Thank you! Well that's quite the opposite actually, for me it's always a long process, for this one it took about a month at a rate of a few hours per day, but I had to make it from scratch (without templates and without this tutorial of course) I had to figure out how to make every single piece, find out how to do every steps..., record the tutorial, make the templates for you and so one... so it's not a good evaluation of the time that you'd spent on it at all lol. Actually when I posted the tutorial on my channel I started to receive pictures of the end result from subscribers one week after posting it. So you could be done in a week or even a few days if you're committed and you know what you're doing ;)
Making the entire body would be a tremendous job 0048 Ramanan.B.R! Like six months even more and I try to publish 2 tutorials a month... So I can't, but maybe in the long run one piece at a time, I'll think about it 😉
I've been honing this type of costume and prop work for years and still learned something from this video, Very consistent & reliable teqniques. Thank you for being willing to share them.
Hey Ben, the pieces on the templates are the actual ones I used to make mine, so if you printed them at 100% scale, you're good and you can trust them., you won't have any glitch with these ... 😉
Sir having recently found your channel I keep watching over and over again with amazement you are a genius. Once I've figured out how to produce the templates
@@EpicCardboardProps I’m trying to do the stormbreaker right now. After I finish it I was going to try the T-Rex but maybe starting with a velociraptor will be better. 😄

How would you recommend mounting this on the wall when done? I’ve looked at some wall mounts but I’m not sure it will hold without tearing through the cardboard
Well that's a tricky thing to do with that kind of build as cardboard remains quite weak at the end of the day.... What I would do I think is make a kind of pedestal made out of wood with 1 or 2 very long sturdy rods built on it. Then I would make 1 or 2 holes according to the rods I made, on the back of the neck all the way through the neck until inside the mouth. I'm working on this one now. My wife brings a ton of cardboard home from work to get it recycled and I might as well make use of some of it. Thanks for this!
You can but I personally don’t recommend it. If I don't paint them it's because cardboard is not a good material when it comes to that part unfortunately, like at all... Painting them would make all the imperfections much more visible, but to be honest I'm very demanding with my props, probably too much lol so it's your call :) But if you do I advise you to make a primer first and then several thin layer of a spray paint instead of a thick one. The result should be way better ;)
I don't know, I like the brown paper look. I have used laminated cardboard to create some artistically designed furniture. Part of the charm is the color. I suppose if you wanted to create a layer, or a way to sculpt a skin, a really thin application of bondo could work. I used that for building up decorations.
I loved that the process was well explained, especially the fact that it is a great project, beautiful by the way, many are not so specific but here we were able to start from scratch by doing something great, with things super easy to find I loved it, now I don't know how I could live without this channel, they are great projects.
I, once, made "a large bald eagle" (about 2 meters by 2 meters/wing span) out of newspaper, wires/oldcoat hangers, construction paper, and lots of masking tape. Making the entire body would be a tremendous job 0048 Ramanan.B.R! Like six months even more and I try to publish 2 tutorials a month... So I can't, but maybe in the long run one piece at a time, I'll think about it 😉
The only thing I don't understand is because you have so few subcribers, your video is very good :D,keep it up
Thank you, I will!
My favorite dinosaur is the parasourolophus (idk if I'm spelling it right lol 😂)
Very good
Thanks Jasvir!
You definitely deserve more subscribers. Maybe a colab would help immensely :)
You're right a collab may help a lot, I definitely have to think about it seriously 😉
Next: how to make cardboard out of T-Rex

Go for it! 😉👍.
I've been honing this type of costume and prop work for years and still learned something from this video, Very consistent & reliable teqniques. Thank you for being willing to share them.
That's a nice compliment! Thank you Nardz!!
Its not only about your work , but your presentation is good too
That's a really nice compliment! Thank you Gowtham Deepak!!
Hey quick question. On template 20A and B is it supposed to be a bit off by a few centimeters?
Hey Ben, the pieces on the templates are the actual ones I used to make mine, so if you printed them at 100% scale, you're good and you can trust them., you won't have any glitch with these ... 😉
I’m a big fan of JP and JW. I’m doing this project right now. Greetings from Peru.
So glad to hear it Daniel Ernesto!! Don't hesitate to ask me you have any questions while you work on it, I'm always there to help!
Sir having recently found your channel I keep watching over and over again with amazement you are a genius. Once I've figured out how to produce the templates
Thank you Andy Kolundzic! I do appreciate it
@@EpicCardboardProps my pleasure
You should make an other dinosaur project. You make awesome props!
That's the plan! I planned to make a velociraptor soon and maybe more after that! 🙂
@@EpicCardboardProps I’m trying to do the stormbreaker right now. After I finish it I was going to try the T-Rex but maybe starting with a velociraptor will be better. 😄
@@alpefegenc9666 Glad to hear it! But take into account that it may take a while for me to make it (these build are so time consuming) so it may be posted on my channel in 2 or 3 months maybe more, depending on the schedule of the other props I want to make in this period of time...
@@EpicCardboardProps thanks for the replys. Then, I will do an other prop while waiting. I’m sure the final product will be worth the wait!
That way these rods will sustain the head efficiently without being visible... but the pedestal and especially the connections between the rods and the pedestal would have to be very sturdy though. That is pretty much the most efficient and "easy" way to do it for me. :)
You got me with the stormbreaker, the T-Rex, the alien, the predator, and the infinity gaunlet. You are extremely talented.
Thank you! Glad you like my work Lore Molina - Verdial!
Wow that's crazy awesome how important it is to measure out the correct sizes
Well if you want the same result, very important! The templates being precise to the millimeter on this build 🙂
I'm working on this one now. My wife brings a ton of cardboard home from work to get it recycled and I might as well make use of some of it. Thanks for this!
Sounds great! Glad to help! 🙂
By the way I love your cardboard sculptures🤩🤩🤩
Glad you like my work CARDBOARD CUTS.
Bruh that’s awesome I can’t believe he made T. rex out of cardboard. Good job this is incredible
Thank you so much Jacob!
thanks for keeping the templates affordable! they help people like me make something cool without using up all my pocket money!
You're welcome, glad you like them! 🙂
Was looking to make a prop for work and I stumbled upon your channel! This is a great help!

Super job! you are a real cardboard sculptor !!!
That's a nice compliment!
you make your own dream come true 💞
Can you paint these? Perhaps with acrylic or air brush?
Oh thanks for the kind words Esperanza, it means a lot! Glad you are enjoying my videos! 🙂
I, once, made "a large bald eagle" (about 2 meters by 2 meters/wing span) out of newspaper, wires/oldcoat hangers, construction paper, and lots of masking tape. It took me about one week to construct. It came out great for our parade float !!! I was a young teacher way back then... many, many years ago. I had energy & talent that I don't have anymore. 🦅
Sounds like it was a very fun project!! I would have love to see the end result of it.
me encanto tu video me hiciste reir eres muy ingenioso felicitaciones gracias por las risas que permites con tus inventos a todos
