Absolutely he did. Just like most of us grew from kids to adult listening to this beautiful song. I am a 1992 born and I definitely know how dear this song is to my heart .😊
wow i had just watched the 1999 Woodstock performance they did nd then fast foward 17 years to this video..love the lead singer and its crazy man i wonder how he feels bout all the drugs nd if he misses ehm
Greg Steele Glenn Frey from the Eagles got tired of singing all their hits at all the shows they played. But he did it because even though they were sick of it, there were fans who didn’t get to have the experience seeing them. So it was enough to keep him going doing it. I think they get sick of playing it.
Can’t say for them in particular but some say they do and some say that their hits are what gave them everything in their life then proceed to play the h e l l out of them for their adoring fans. I’d bet though that most find themselves somewhere in the middle
They used to play for free at a outdoor music festival in Rochester for years and I was elated everytime I went. I’m sure there are other bands that just want to give to their fans consistently like that but I’ve never heard of i. They are absolute treasure 💕
holy shit this is actually amazing as hell. the control this dude has is definitely skillful but that still rings true after all these years (and live) as well. im blown away!
This is amazing!!! They used to do free concerts every summer where I lived and I cherished that. To see musicians that just give back instead of take is so rare. I adore them.
I personally think; This is a powerful song based simply on harmony Such a Synchronized group, notice how the drummer sincerely applauded the Perfect moment they had together.
What idiot would give the legendary Rusted Root a thumbs down? Obviously some jackass that does not appreciate true artistry and talent. Especially when he still can kill it big time decades later and they all still got it!! You just don't ever lose the "IT" factor when you are simply that F***ing awesome!!!
Probably the one of the best sounding versions (if you can call it that) to date that I've seen & heard since the late 90's for me! Michael at least to me, is more amazing at his craft(s) now the older he gets.
That's the cool thing about music is it's not like sports where the older you get the less capable you are. They been playing this song for decades in front of millions of people so it's only gonna get better every time until they arthritis lol
This is the biggest thank you to rush roots for making this song!!! Every time I hear the song it makes me smile and feel and I can't help but dance a little. Ever since before I was born I've Loved this song!!! So thank you again so much Rush roots for making this song!!!
When there is one song that will forever connect you with your youth, and you've had 20 years to think about it. ❤❤❤ It's hard to believe that this performance is almost a decade old.
I’d have to agree. They are so humble and pure that they’d put on a free concert every summer where I lived.. I’ve since moved but they still might be doing that.
Right on....I prefer the earlier video which has a much more African feel. "Jim Donovan studied and played African rhythms with various master drummers such as Congolese master drummer Elie Kihonia, Mamady Keita and Mbemba Bangoura. He also studied African music with noted scholar Kwabena Nketia from Ghana.[" I think Joseph Shabalala would have loved this song!
You can hear the maturity in his voice here. He was always good but here he’s golden. His phrasing and note choices are better here.
I think the same, he really improved his vocals even though he was always good
I them by Accident. They were opening for Robert Plant.
I'm shook
Absolutely he did. Just like most of us grew from kids to adult listening to this beautiful song. I am a 1992 born and I definitely know how dear this song is to my heart .😊
Brought tears to my eyes!!
I don’t always listen to Rusted Roots but when I listen to “send me on my way” (live version), so do my neighbours !
YES, YES, YES!!!😄
that guy can make sounds that i didn't know existed
Yeah 🔥🤯
LMFAO!!!! 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Listen to some Ladysmith Black Mambazo music ....especially when led by the late Joseph Shabalala.....you'll hear the sounds
1999 woodstock version is the greatest version of this song in existence
Luca Tosi true is true
Agree
100%
This is for you all. U-haul? Do they sponser?
You speak the truth!
This song will always have a special place in my heart.
Another great band outta Pittsburgh!
🌁 🏞️ 🌃 🏞️ 🌆 🏞️ ❤️
Talk about not losing your vocals and instrumentals after 24 years. This song was originally recorded in 1992. That is amazing. Beautiful.
You can hear he can't hit the falsetto like he used to, but it's amazing he can still sing like this at all after this many years!
Got my ear pierced in the parking lot at a Rusted Root concert in summer 2001. It got infected.
Never will I get tired of this song big part of growing up in the 90s
wow i had just watched the 1999 Woodstock performance they did nd then fast foward 17 years to this video..love the lead singer and its crazy man i wonder how he feels bout all the drugs nd if he misses ehm
the woodstock performance is one of my favorite videos and all time performances!
I was just there, also.
Holy shit me too
cursed youtube. this is exactly what brought me here.
@@Michael_Dominic me too same deal! Well, 2 years later but still..
wonder if they get sick of this song. i dont i fucking live it 😊

That sound he makes at 2:43 is so primal, like he's channeling his vestigial Mesozoic era instincts
I know right
Regi that's because this song is in ice age so it's connected to that in your brain lol
Would actually pay every penny i have to be able to pull off a sound like that.
What the fu-
I still remember this comment years after reading it and i think thats important.
They still got it!
The lead singer has a great voice. Wish he had made a cover album. I could imagine him sounding beautiful singing “Hallelujah” ala Jeff Buckley.
When I Woke was released the exact same day that Grace was.
Loving the harmonies in this live version. I've been trying to find this song for a long time and am so happy to have it back in my life.
Studio Version - Child
Woodstock 99 - Teen
2016 - Adult
The trilogy of growing up.
The lyrics say he’s singing “you know what they say about the young”
But all I hear is “bubbdy say bubbdy yum”
Nope, lyrics at that point are gibberish.
Lmbo I believe he's saying "you know what they say about the young" don't quote me on that though
I actually hear "Nobody see, nobody harm" or something like that lol
Mobody see nobody young 😂
but I still absolutely LOVE it!!!
My girlfriends mom always tells me about how she used to party with these guys. Such a genuine group of people.
They used to play for free at a outdoor music festival in Rochester for years and I was elated everytime I went.
I’m sure there are other bands that just want to give to their fans consistently like that but I’ve never heard of i. They are absolute treasure 💕

This song first stirred in me while catching it in the movie Matilda...and still, it does. HELL YEAH!!!!
So much natural and raw talent...love them!
This is amazing!!! They used to do free concerts every summer where I lived and I cherished that. To see musicians that just give back instead of take is so rare. I adore them.

Autumn Falls me too me too it's so magical
Same, same, same here
Lol for real same here its just so... unique and magical im a way the original version is a classic and will be legendary in the future
Same

What a song. What a VOICE!
The vocalists are ridiculously talented
LOVE THIS BAND.............totally unadulterated talent and artistry............
This guys voice is incredible

These guys are awesome! Sound as good as they did 25 years ago. Amazing
That's the cool thing about music is it's not like sports where the older you get the less capable you are. They been playing this song for decades in front of millions of people so it's only gonna get better every time until they arthritis lol
What a voice, and such a performer, great job Michael!
Tremenda energía!!!
Esta canción me lleva de vuelta al cine, cuando vi La Era del Hielo con mis hijos y ellos estaban así de pequeñitos...
It's Hopper from Stranger Things!
Yes i think the same !
Lmao I thought the same
wow he can kick supernatural butt and sing real good.
Hippie Hopper, impossible
I came searching this. He’s so similar!
These guys ran so all the 2010's indie bands could walk
This is the biggest thank you to rush roots for making this song!!! Every time I hear the song it makes me smile and feel and I can't help but dance a little. Ever since before I was born I've Loved this song!!! So thank you again so much Rush roots for making this song!!!
His voice is my favorite thing in the world
amazing, brilliant performance, stunning. His voice is sooo good.
Their harmonising is impeccable! Nearly as amazing as their Woodstock performance!
The flute guy kills it! 🔥
Saw these guys in concert on tour with Santana. Best concert ever❤
His voice still amazing!
This is my happy song and I can’t believe I haven’t seen this video before.
He melted my face with his voice
Dude still got it wow
Oh my goodness. How wonderful.
¡AMO ESTA VERSIÓN!
Suena bastante similar a la original
Dude, I have never been so excited by the sound of a flute.
what a good sport playing the song again after all that time and delivering a nice performance
Me trae tan buenos recuerdos...
always loved this song, make anyone else think of the movie "matilda"?
This song appears when Matilda cooks pancakes
Curtis Cordray duhhh. And Ice Age!
I think of Ice Age

So much Nostalgia! Ahhhhh! So good! 😊
Best version
When there is one song that will forever connect you with your youth, and you've had 20 years to think about it. ❤❤❤
It's hard to believe that this performance is almost a decade old.
Just had the amazing pleasure of seeing these guys at Nelson’s Ledges Quarry in Ohio and it was INCREDIBLE!
Genius to made this music 🎶 ❤️😍🙏 thank so much I’m feel so alive hearing this!
Such a great song. Brings good vibes every time I hear it.
The most underated live performing band of all time, so talented.
I’d have to agree. They are so humble and pure that they’d put on a free concert every summer where I lived.. I’ve since moved but they still might be doing that.
Adoro essa musica😘😉
Such a unique song! Even if they die as a one hit wonders, this is their's!!!
They all have beautiful voices.
So much of a Ladysmith Black Mambazo vibe happening here...loving it...

Wow I am so glad I looked up a live version of this
Same, i liked this different guitar intro
the guitar is tricky for me. He has amazing timing, and he sings while playing it! So talented.
1990s North Carolina...this music...and the memories
Omg best song! In these trying times I needed this! Thanks! ♥️🇨🇦
WOW. the drums. WOW. - HQ xoxo 4ever ; I luv Em

D*** this is so good. . . I saw Michael by himself at Founders in Grand Rapids, had to be around 2010. . . One heck of a musician. Tons of fun.
Love it hands down...Awesome
This brings me to the height of my high school days dancing on the highest hills under the stars in NW PA
They kill it every time. Fantastic!
Vous avez bercer mon enfance,
Merci

Still a pleasure to hear this song. Makes me happy.
My favourite part of Rusted Root is the rust
Man this is fantastic
The lead singer looks the same as in the 90s lol hasn't aged hardly
Kinda like the x men films
Just gained weight
Oh man this is something special. Mesmerizing
I got to see them for free back in 2015 and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. So much fun and talent.
Incredible! Legendary!
Beautiful
1:58 When you’re out of the house and you realize you left the gas burner on
