What an amazing Indian street food tour!!! We loved the breakfast and the banana leaf experience. Thanks a lot for sharing your food adventures with us. Can’t wait for your next video 😊❤️
Thank you! Totally, we really enjoyed the banana leaf rice, it was so much food and also such a wonderful experience, definitely something we'll have to have again 😊
The roti canai was so special because of the two soft boiled eggs mixed with the curry/sambal sauce. Pisang Goreng is similar to Turon in Filipino side. The Dosa Crepes must be savory based on its dipping sauce. Indian Claypot Rice prepared its food differently from Cantonese. They cooked its food in the Claypot, then added the cook rice at the end to stirred it altogether. Chris still has a tablespoon the only utensil of that curry chicken with that banana leaf meal. I'll give a thumbs up when they offered him that huge coconut drink.
The roti canai was so good! So was the dosa, to be honest everything was really tasty, and the banana leaf rice was such a great experience. Thanks for watching Hing-Cheong! Keep your amazing comments coming☺️
For the banana leave rice, locals determine the amount of rice and curry served (i.e. we tell the server to stop when we've had enough). We can usually "tambah" (add on) rice, curry and the side dishes if we want more (i.e. extra serving). This practice is also not to waste food. Enjoy your stay in Malaysia.
Of course! The South Indian food in Malaysia is honestly so good, we love it, especially eating with our hands 😉 thanks a lot for watching and commenting :)
Do you know what to do wth the banana leaf after finished eating? U need to fold it in half. I can't remember whether u fold the leaf out ward or inward if u r satisfied wth the meals. And u fold the opposite if u r not satisfied wth it..can someone help.me... tks..anjoy Msia guys
Yes you are right, you're supposed to fold it in towards you if you are satisfied with your meal ;) we did that once we were finished but just didn't show it in the video. Loved the banana leaf!
Ah you're very right! It has become a Malaysian dish now, with South Indian roots. It's so interesting to learn about the different influences on Malaysian cuisine, it's so varied we are loving it😊🤤
For those first time eating rice with hand, 1. Use only the first 2 digit of your washed right hand fingers, food should not touch the palms, 2.Mix a little souce or gravy to rice from the edge of your plate of rice not from the center. 3.Start mixing and eating from the corner not from center.( scoop mixed rice with fingers and push food into mouth with your thumb.) 4) .pieces of chicken, fish, meat etc, should be placed on the edge of plate, not in the center, 5.Lick your fingers to avoid looking messy. 6. Enjoy your meals 😋 Btw, Never use left hand to bring food to your mouth, (Use only left hand for ' Toilet swap').

Banana leaf Rice my favourite. Come visit Penang
It's soooo good, we loved it! Penang is also definitely on our list!
@@HungryTwoTravel Welcome to Penang
You re supposed to crush the papadom (the crackers) and sprinkle them on the rice... Then you have crunchy texture when you eat the rice..
Thank you for the tip! Yes, we learned that after the fact😄 next time now we know!
You can eat the papadom separetly , no need to crush it on the rice.
@@iron6187 but it's nicer on the rice
@@ashtriana1 normaly its eaten separetly as a side dish with rice. But if you like it crushed and mix with the rice it is your choice.
@@iron6187
Yes, eating Papadom separately without crushing is the right way.

For the roti canai with soft boiled eggs, though it has the south indian influence but you won't get it in India. Only in Malaysia!

Roti cinai...I like u pronounce 🤣
Thank you🤣!!
Banana leaf food is Tamil Chettinadu cuisine.
Tamil Muslims restaurant are famous for Roti Canai food varieties..
Good to know! Thanks for the info :)
'C' in Malay has only one sound which is as in 'Ch'eese... so it is pronounced Roti 'Ch'anai
Thanks for letting us know Rizlan, we didn't realize that, always learning as we go :)
omg
😋🤤
Hi
Hello there 😊
Shld not pour curry into roti canai. Just dip it because it will not be nice and crispy if it is flooded.
Yes that's usually the way! This was the roti canai special ;)
Roti banjir is like that, super nice mix all together.
Normally older people are lazy to chew, they just pour the souce onto the roti to soften it. Melt in the mouth.
😋
Ultimate South Indian food mate... well done.. Banana leaf
Roti canai aka Parotta not North Indian Cliched paratha

Its not kanai, it is canai like you say cha-nnel.
