  • In this video, I will show you how I lessened my disability and chronic pain (Sciatica and low back pain) from Failed Back Surgical Syndrome (failed microdiscectomy resulting in chronic low back pain and sciatica) through a simple daily stretching routine which is done on my stairs (I'm unable to get down on the floor to do stretching because of chronic sciatica and a knee problem). I truly believe these exercises, and walking in the woods three times per week (to tolerance) saved me from needing a spinal cord stimulator put in, which I was scheduled for right before the pandemic hit.

Did you try Far Infra Red treatment for the hips . ? And do you have L4L5 nerve root compression? Or spinal stenosis .

Hey Doctor, I have some questions.......I just had an ALIF to take care of my Spondy and foraminal disc bulge that was giving me L5-S1 sciatica symptoms. I've never had issues in my life as an athlete but I injured myself 8 months ago. My concern was that they do the discectomy for the ALIF from the front and remove roughly 90 percent of the disc before the end plates are prepared and the cage is placed. Is it possible to still leave in the part of the disc that's compressing the nerve since it's foraminal and posterolateral and kind of buried in the back? My surgeon said that's not possible because the cage gives you new disc height and the remaining part of the disc just hangs loose before being dried up and absorbed by the body.
I guess my fear is that my sciatica will remain once I'm healed. I'm 2 weeks post op and I feel decent, some minor tingling in my leg is still present here and there. Is it true that it could take time for the nerve to heal because it was heavily compressed for 8 months? I haven't taken anything for pain and I'm still okay. My hips and upper glutes are definitely really tight and in pain after laying down for awhile. I didn't have back pain before the surgery. What do you think?
