RUclips User yeah sure, Fast Forwards, (OLD old) zipp 404 and mavic CXRs which where at bit sketchy in the wind but they were 60mm too so slightly deep and very narrow
They addressed that in the launch-event... it's just too complicated building a (low cost = mechanical groupset) integrated cockpit to route mechanical cables through AND make the cockpit easily detachable for transportation. That also was the main goal for this newly designed cockpit with detachable drops... the fact you can adjust the width in two steps was just nice to have - main goal was make the bike easily transportable. Canyon mentioned of course the example riders travel to Mallorca to ride this bike... but being a direct-shipping brand - easy shipping probably was in their own interest, too ;-)
Yeah...too bad they will be flexy as hell and feel terrible. Two bolts going through the carbon makes for a terrible, floppy feeling bar, providing zero confidence. My willier TT bike has the same system. It's great for traveling, but feels like garbage.
So there is a lot of talk about the aero advantage but I really didn't see much in terms of compensation for the water bottles. How much drag is that putting on this new frame. So far the F12 is the one frame that I have seen so far that has taken the water bottle somewhat into consideration.
What I've learned from F1 racing they're using flaps and wings to deflect or rather direct airflow towards or away from something like mirrors or wheels.
When comparing the out going model SLX 9 compared to the CFR, the SLX is .16KG lighter. Yet, all reviews say the new CFR is lighter and stiffer; Canyons website say 238g lighter. What am I missing here?
yes, im comparing same group sets. Look up a canyon areoroad slx 9.0. They are a touch lighter with same groupset. Now I dont doubt the new frames are lighter. I was trying to figure where the extra grams on the new model coming from. Im assuming either the new bars or canyon giving us weights for different size frames. I bet this has been answered on different videos since my posting, I just haven't looked into it much further.
Nice, but could be nicer... Pity, that front part (fork and stem) is so much thinner than more robust rest of bike.. Looks like its from different bike.. But lot of clever features!👍👍
One point of critic : The lenght of the seatpost, for a biker with longer legs it won't fit . 2XL for > 196 cm they said, I am 193 and it won't fit. If your legs are a bit longer than your body, you have to buy a bigger frame , then the top tube lenght will be longer, difficult to fit the bike. 3 cm extra will suit more riders.
I love when presenters say things like "this was obviously done for aerodynamics". As if they have a clue. Almost nothing in aerodynamics is "obvious". A narrower front wheel is not necessarily more aero. Take the Roval Rapide CLX front wheel for example. At 31.5 mm it is much wider than the rear wheel, yet this is one of the fastest wheels on the market. The greater width works to achieve better aero at higher yaw angles. Obviously, right?
@@Klont123 Because I've had failures of components that aren't in such dangerous spots when putting down a lot of torque. I've had bolts pop out of stems in sprints too. A handlebar that's multiple pieces, particularly for pros, could be dangerous. For general riding, might not be a big issue and I like the concept. Just would be worried about it coming apart.
What you expect? 20W? If you don't want to push the pedals than buy a motorbike. ...they have to do small changes, because the next year AGAIN it has to be the fastest and lightest. Marketing bro!
nekineznanec11 that was the interval since the first aeroad was released, according to the video we watched. Canyon hasn’t refreshed the aeroad in years which is different when comparing to the Treks and Specializeds of the world.

Nothing about aerodynamics is obvious. You can make one element of a system more aero in isolation, yet render the whole system less aero. Be a bit less credulous.
Christer Ohlsson how about innovations they brought like integrated handlebars with width adjustment and height adjustment simplifying transport and bike fitting? Who cares about 4watts or 160g weight loss?

Would be nice to do more than just reading the press release :)
It's at 45 kph, I read somewhere.
Either there is an issue on their website or the stack of the SLX version is 21 mm (!) less than stack for SL and CFR.......

How difficult are the fork bearings maintained / changed?
Are we allowed to buy one that frame is white on this video? Seems professional rider is riding on it?
