Nicolas Large I see what you are saying. I guess the issue is with the label “far right”. I see it as a misuse of the terminology. You can be “right” and you can be “far right.” However, being a “white nationalist” and a “racist” is something else. Those groups should be labeled something else. Referring to them as “right” lumps them into a group of other people that do not in anyway agree with racism. Racism is more of a communist idea such as being a Nazi.
@@rgjr.6055 Right. I'm not looking to disagree with you on the meaning of the political label, just wanted to point out the reason the government was investigating Weaver to begin with. Unfortunately, the above video didn't really go in depth explaining the initial reason Weaver and his family were being harassed.
Even so, they didn't have to send the green berets up the mountain to arrest him. They could have waited until he drove to town and had the Sherriff have a chat with him.
I always thought we had the freedom to have our own views & opinions in America. Even if those views are against the actions of the fed govt, we're supposed to have the freedom to feel whatever way we want. The fed govt does not double as the "thought police" & is not supposed to begin surveillance on or get lethal with the citizens simply for disagreeing with their views on taxation, regulations or other laws.
The Federal Gov handled this correctly. He put his family in this situation by using them to hide behind and they are fortunate they were not all killed.

As an African American, I sympathize with the family. If all they were doing was staying off the grid and living their life. No matter if there was white separatist. Weaver was given the wrong court date and didn’t show up to either date. Of course, none of that justified the heavy handed actions the keystone ATF/FBI/US Marshals took.
Randy Weaver was approached by an undercover federal agent and asked to "Saw Off" or shorten the barrel of a shotgun. The Feds got him and his wife in custody by pretending to be stranded motorists with a broken car on the side of the road. When the weavers pulled over to offer assistance to the stranded motorists they pulled out badges, the feds arrested them for the modification to the shot gun. They pulled over to help stranded people on a cold night. .. The weaver family were not monsters, they wanted to be left alone. Ideological subversion is a process by which an enemy seeks to weaken and eventually overthrow a target nation or society by infiltrating its institutions and gradually changing its values, beliefs, and culture. According to Bezmenov, the process of ideological subversion has four stages: demoralization, destabilization, crisis, and normalization. The first stage of demoralization involves the gradual erosion of a society's moral and ethical values, often through the manipulation of education, media, and culture. The second stage of destabilization involves the creation of social and economic chaos, often by exploiting existing divisions and conflicts within a society. The third stage of crisis involves the escalation of conflict and the breakdown of social order, leading to a situation of extreme vulnerability. The final stage of normalization involves the imposition of a new social and political order that is more favorable to the interests of the enemy. Bezmenov argued that the Soviet Union was actively engaged in a program of ideological subversion against the United States and other Western democracies during the Cold War. He believed that the Soviet Union sought to undermine Western values and institutions by infiltrating and manipulating key institutions such as the media, academia, and government. Bezmenov's ideas continue to be controversial and debated today, but his work has had a significant impact on the study of propaganda, disinformation, and psychological warfare.

I remember seeing a clip after they killed the mom where an FBI agent had to announce that she died from the sniper. There are so many questions here unanswered. The biggest one that started this whole debacle is, "Why are 'sawed off shotguns' illegal to begin with?" Honestly, what makes that gun more dangerous than a 24 inch shotgun used to hunt ducks? A short barreled shot gun has less lethality in terms of ballistics from a long distance. Sure they are easier to conceal but concealment doesn't mean that something is nefarious or malicious. In fact there are many state governments that legally require you to conceal your handgun when in public. You think you are stopping criminals with this law? Get real! If someone is intent on robbing a store or bank with a short barreled rifle, they'll get their hands on a rifle and saw the barrel off with a cheap saw from Home Depot. The reason these became illegal (without a tax stamp) is because during Prohibition, gangsters preferred short barreled guns, because they were easier to hide. Today's gangsters like minivans because they are easier to shoot out of when doing a drive by. With that same logic we should ban minivans!!!
Blame Neo-Con God-king Ronald Reagan for that. He allowed for the passage of the 1986 FOPA which basically created The ATF and even placed Sawed Shotguns, SBRs, Machine Guns (which includes open bolt Semi-Autos), 3D printed Guns and "Destructive Devices" (like a Stryker Shotgun) on the "Pay the $200 tax stamp & other BS" list.
Gov will ban anything they can convince the public is dangerous. A mini 14 and AR15 are virtually the same in terms of lethality but the AR looks scary and the mini 14 doesnt so gov goes after the AR15
It had nothing to do with the shotgun, this was an excuse to poke into the affairs of the group the weaver hang around, and in order to trap weaver and force him to inform, they charged him with the shotgun they had bought from him and then cut in half, he never cut the rifle, he was then given the wrong court date by a "mistake" and when he then did not show they moved to arrest him, he fled and they then began their white supremcsy lies in order to legitmate going in and murdering the weavers. so it had to with gathering intelligence on the group the weavers hang around, not the shotguns

Doggo: So what? Spread is irrelevant. Guess what, the military and police uses full chokes in their choked shotguns, TO REDUCE SPREAD. Also, shorter barrels reduces the speed of the projectiles SIGNIFICANTLY. Being that KE=mv^2, you reduce the energy, and therefore "damage" of the projectiles immensely. Besides, you dont need an SBS to increase spread. You just need a rifled barrel, and let centrifugal force do the work.

@xra1750 - Yes it's one of many atrocities perpetrated by various tax-funded government agencies, agree. There's already incompetence and low quality in many govt. agencies around the world right now, so it's obviously better if we just privatize the entire lot, divide up police into several choices and then pay for the highest quality police (a.k.a. voluntaryism). The mass shootings, random violence with knives, Oklahoma city bombing anti-govt. events Etc. are sometimes 'deep' where the perpetrator is diagnosed as 100% sane, polite, normal, non-violent such as the Oklahoma city bomber individual. American psychology is overall quite 'unhappy', 'disharmonious', 'angry' wihich causes sane & non-criminal anti-govt. protests. As a 'people' American people are not happy, however if we look at Switzerland as an example, they are quite 'happy' as a people. So, they don't have mass shootings, random killings with knives & Oklahoma city bombing type events from sane individuals (in Switzerland). I sort of 'get it' like if I was an American 100% I'd sort of hate the country and how it's run, while if I was Swiss 100% I'd be quite ok with my country and history Etc. So I 'get it' why these killings occur in USA yet not in Switzerland even though they have the same amount of guns approx. (45 guns per 100 people). Another example is Japan I also 'get' that some of them are very unhappy. IF they had guns, there'd be problems over there. It's great that we can study all of these examples in youtube where the government attacked its own citizens due to political and/or ideological and/or ethnic group reasons. If I turned into an American later on I'd vote for a privatized, zero-tax state.

Nicolas Large I see what you are saying. I guess the issue is with the label “far right”. I see it as a misuse of the terminology.

It was the power of faith. They had faith in the end ... so it came about.
Shot guns no matter the barrel length should be legalized
Well it does cause a bigger shotgun spread
Doggo: So what? Spread is irrelevant. Guess what, the military and police uses full chokes in their choked shotguns, TO REDUCE SPREAD.
Also, shorter barrels reduces the speed of the projectiles SIGNIFICANTLY. Being that KE=mv^2, you reduce the energy, and therefore "damage" of the projectiles immensely.
Besides, you dont need an SBS to increase spread. You just need a rifled barrel, and let centrifugal force do the work.
Whatster87 I disagree Im pro gun and own a few myself but the sawed off shotguns I can see why they are banned. They were popular because they are cheaper than a pistol and can be concealed just as easy also easier to obtain through legal means than a pistol.
The East Texas Sheriffs (3 of them) demonstrated a WHOLE lot more sense than our federal law enforcement has in their handling of "nutcases". Their words, not mine. I haven't climbed on the hate all cops bandwagon because there ARE cops like those in East Texas not precipitating a war. And sadly, though they're supposed to represent the very best, past actions paint federal agents as the absolute WORST. DEA, FBI, BATF, any of these departments strike fear deep in me. They can murder you and get away with it. For any or no reason. And the rhetoric about how they've changed is just talk. Don't get cross ways with them. You'll die.

This is a terrible atrocity caused by incompetence on the federal level. I hope something like this will never happen again.
It already has. An innocent unarmed female veteran was murdered at the Capitol by some jackbooted thug for attempting to trespass. Leftist climate protesters are ALWAYS trespassing into the Capitol to protest. How are they taken care of? They're carried out alive.
