  • This only takes 2 minutes to do!!
I know you know how frustrating it is when one end of your drawstring disappears into your clothes and you can't figure out how to get it back out. I'm here to help!
It's really simple, all you need is a safety pin. I'll show you how. ;)

I taped it to a long wooden coffee stirrer. It was fast. For those if us with little patience.☺ a chopstick would work too.

I was going through dresser drawers and found 5 different items without draw strings and almost pitched them. "Wait a minute, I'm going to look on RUclips." Amazing how you can learn just about anything on RUclips. ALSO, I subscribed to your channel. Thanx Ms. Clarity :-) 77 and still learning.

You can also use the aglet (plastic tip) point the tip up with the bottom down and push, then push the tip down and push the bottom while it sticks up. Its slower and probably better if the drawstring retracts halfway in the guide loop. Couldnt find a safety pin so had to improvise. The purplish blue highlight in your video made my day by the way

I used a plastic coated paper clip, inserting it twice through the draw string, then bending it shut, and bending the opposite end into a nice curve to slide and not hang up. But GREAT inspiration and HERE'S to you!! (It helped that I couldn't find a safety pin! LOL!)

YOU ARE A LIFESAVER! 🙏🏻 I didn’t had a safety pin but I did had a paper clip so I used that instead. I was worried because my pants were a thicker material and the drawstring is just a long flat piece of silk but it worked and my hands hurts now. I tried to watch other videos which had different methods but they did not help. Like I was stuck for a whole month on these pants and because of your video, not only did I fixed them but I also saved like $10 so thank you so much.

I think part of the secret here is to use a larger safety pin when pulling it through. I had to use a safety pin which was almost 2 inches long, worked like a breeze. Than tie a knot on the end of the string so it wont pull out again.

This was the problem with my winter coat that had a hood string. The material was to heavy for the hair pin or paper clip method.
I tried the 'straw method" That did not work because the straw fit to tight in the gourmet. Then I tried to push the string through with a small metal rod that I cut from an old wire close hanger. That almost worked. I got an inch away from the other side and gave up.
Then! Then I pulled the whole string out, taped the end of the string to the end of the wire ( I used scotch tape) and pushed it through in about 10 seconds. So there you have it. easy peasy.
