Just a theory but I think this song implies a purgatory. In lyrics, the maze have "Three-thousand entrance and Forty-nine exit". In buddhism, 3000world(三千世界) means "the whole world". And when someone dead, their soul stay 49 days and leave this life in (also) buddhism. 49 also reference "a pain of death(死苦)" in japan. So, the maze is something between life and death. Aand some lyrics represent girl's death(We can see a girl lying on the pool of blood too!) In this theory, this song is about a girl dead, go to maze (purgatory I guess) and searching for exit of this world. (I'm not good at english so if some words are strange, i'm very sorry about thatTT Also, this song is amazingly great! Thank you for write n sing this epic song kikuo and hanatan and thanks Otori san for made this vedio!!)
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that this song is kinda like purgatory. It also seems to go together with O Light. It doesn't seem like the person in the videos are the same but if they are than it feels like O Light it a prequel, let's say the girls death and her actually *going to* purgatory while this song is her *in* purgatory. But the theme is very similar.
the chair at the end kind of reminds me of someone kicking a chair over as they hang themselves -- maybe the girl killed herself/is killing herself over and over again in purgatory
i'm pretty sure that's because all kikuohana songs are made for hanata's voice-- the vocaloid versions only exist to help kikuo avoid copyright if i remember correctly
The fact that Hanatan voice keep getting deep through out the song it really resemble that the girl has been stuck there for a long time (Idk if hanatan voice is getting deep or higher)
at the complete end of the video, 4:22 ,the way she is standing and the chair falling down really gives a strong implication of suicide, in my opinion.
Something that feels fitting to me: 1:08 "The sadness of coming upon a dead end; the surprise when the bottom gives way; the suffocation." "The sadness of coming upon a dead end" would be the reason for suicide, the dead end in life. "the surprise when the bottom gives way" you don't hang yourself every day so I guess how it is must be surprising "the suffocation." well..yeah. Of course I'm just a random dude who likes this music and looked at this line after reading the theories about suicide in the comments, so take this with a grain of salt. I have no experience in reading/speaking Japanese and I can't read the context so again, don't accept what I'm saying as-is.
It would make sense because a jellyfish also appears Wich indicates painful memories so maybe she killed herself to escape the pain she felt and now she's in a hopeless maze as said in the song she's still looking for a goal somewhere
In my religion, Buddhism, a purgatory is basically the place you go where you die. So basically heaven/hell but it's a maze. So maybe she killed herself and now she's in the afterlife

the song reminds me of the feeling when you are trapped and alone in a bad situation, especially as a child, and use your imagination to escape from the real world. often times, children who have stressful home lives will develop a kind of maladaptive daydreaming, where they daydream to escape from their struggles in the world, and dissapearing into this world of "mazes". being in their head so often usually hinders their development especially socially. I believe this song is about someone who used imaginative worlds to cope and now realizes that they cannot escape their made-up worlds and that all they are and ever will be is fake. but whenever they try to interact with the real world they don't know how to behave regularly and are ostracized and bullied for their poor communication skills... probably not, though.
Wow, the animation is well done. The girl portrayed is in an awesome pokemon-ish style. And not sure if I'm the only one, but I kind of hear tiny pokemon vibes in a small part of the music. Whoever made this animation tho did a good heckin job.
I am really curious how the video was made! *o* I'm certain 3D models were used, and assume the textures were edited in after rendering the raw video, but the wobbly lines have me stumped. Is that some crazy filter, or did someone have to go in and trace every outline several times? (Super new to video editing, haha.)
I wanted to know too! It's a really cool effect. I think there's a way of rendering those lines with a 3D program, but they could have been added afterwards with an editing program...I guess the best thing we could do is ask the artist how they did it, but I don't know if they understand English.
Those are only opinions I'm not the one how did it. It may have some post edition but I'm pretty sure it is 100% 3D engine result, including textures. You can really get all sort of results with shader filters, by what I can see all in this animation can be somewhat achieved through special render engines like freestyle, the jagged line is probably obtained with some noise transformation over vertex, and finalization with filters and a little of chromatic aberration.
Sarcosmic if you go the creator’s Twitter (sorry I don’t have a link) she has pictures of her stuff mid-process, and the interface is definitely Blender. I’m pretty sure that she used Freestyle rendering to do the lines
Im not sure how it was done here, but most animators achieve that effect by drawing the frame multiple times, and having it repeat really fast. Because not every sketch is going to be exactly the same, it gives the effect of wobbling lines.
I really like how the small mention that even in her dreams she is still in the maze, it just gives me the feeling that there is no moment of rest. Not even a moment of relief in a dream.
For those who don't watch on a bigger and higher res screen...There's so much detail in the video. Or at least more than I ever thought. The lines don't stay and define things, they dance around and wiggle. Colors bleed out of shapes, and some details that seemed so precise on mobile...are just blotches of color on a bigger screen. Just a cool thing I've noticed, bad upbringings make you see these things and cherish them.
I think this song is about depression. She’s trying to go to the horizon, but ends up getting stuck in an infinite gray maze (which is what life feels like for me when my depression is bad). In the video, the character looks exhausted as well. She says that she is ascending then descending, again and again, which I think represents trudging through the days. The lyric “it’s miserable but there’s a goal somewhere” also makes me think that it’s about depression. She even tries to search for a maze (continue on with her day) when she’s “losing her way” aka considering suicide.
Yeah, and sometimes she seem to like beeing in the maze or it's just indifferent about it. That seems like self sabotage to me. Also, as a person that has many ups and downs, I can really relate to this girl. I swear I could explain all this lyrics and why the song is about depression but my english it's just not very good. :(
When I saw the girls expression and how the world seemed empty and gray to her, and hard to get out of the maze, I also felt that the song may represent how the people with depression live their day to day feeling lost and without a sense of direction of where their life are going to go from now on :)
the purgatory refs are so right but this song is so deeply accurately about addiction. "It looks like everything I do and everything I try is simply useless. At times like that, let’s try searching for a maze. I’d rather walk around in a hollow world than be in a world where I can’t move. " bro i love you you ever drank alcohol? this is how it feels. kikuo-sama are you ok? am i ok? bro

Ootori really knows how to use some of the key visual issues with CGI to actively make a full-CGI animation work better, which is worth very heavily commending.
i think this song is about someone with depression, the "maze" is the sadness, "ascending, then descending" the girls mental state is getting better, them worse again, eventually, the realizes that she's been stuck in sadness and depression for so long that she cant exist in the world, and that shed rather be stuck in a hollow world, or, depression, then in a world where she cant move, or, cant fit in, but she knows that if she gives into the depression, she'll probably end up killing herself, so she pulls a homura and continues to fight, she continues so aimlessly wander through the maze, but eventually she "falls through the floor again", or, her mental state tanks, and she gives up, and guves in to despair, and hsngs herself
when you're trying to find your friends phone that they lost, but it's not your best friend, nor your actual friend, just a friend of friends. So you have to make it look like you give a shit.
I am someone who can relate to most of kikuo's songs and everytime i listen to then they give me somekind of comfort instead of feeling sad i feel comforted and im happy that many others feel the same way. I really enjoy kikuo's arts and i hope that he enjoys and continues what hes doing. Have a wonderful day to anyone who is reading this and i hope you are doing alright :)
Honestly hanatan did better than the vocaloid one, her voice fits well with this song and the way her voice changes is amazing. All of kikuos music deserve so much attention, hanatan and kikuo did so good on this song Edit: listening to this song over and over again still gives me chills, hanatan did such a good job on this song
I really like the theories in this comment section, and I might add maybe she had a chronic illness that made her stuck in a hospital. At 3:32 she talked about how she rather than not being able to move she would like to move in a hallow world, and the sterile white rooms and her gown I’d like to think this purgatory of a afterlife she’s having is coming from her own mind, or maybe a last living thought she would have like a twisted daydream. For her she might’ve been in the hospital for her whole life and has gotten tired of living the same day over and over again, but now that she has “died” she can explore this maze all she wants, while slowly noticing the irony as she is still moving in the literal sense but hasn’t moved anywhere closer to escaping this maze. In hindsight it seems like a carrot on a stick, but it might be that since she’s been in a “hospital” her whole life she wouldn’t even know what an exit would even look like. It is also an ironic coincidence that she might’ve even taken her own life because of the same monotony she tried to escape.
i know someone commented about this song being about depression. but i personally feel like it's about having an unhealthy attachment style and how it's very hard to keep relationships. it's also hard to get into a healthy attachment style, like a maze. and like how when ur not in a relationship, u crave it, but end up getting stuck in the "maze" again. honestly idk what im saying lmao
personally i interpret this song as sort of being about the monotony of life. in the first portion of the song, the girl goes through the maze, falling and meeting obstacles and moving forward despite it (i think as sort of like a metaphor for the work we have to put in in order to reach our goal). the lines ‘i ascend, then descend, descend, descend…’ really reminds me of the saying ‘one step forward, two steps back’ and a feeling of not making any progress, which i think is something a lot of people feel in transitional periods of their life (during times of study/moving up the corporate ladder where you sorta just have to get through it in order to reach your goal). mention of the maze seeming infinite makes me think of how during those times since the progress is really slow, it can feel like your getting nowhere fast, and sort of pointless. around 2/3rds into the song, the line about it all seeming pointless kinda gives me the idea that the mc may have abandoned what they were working towards/reached it and realized it wasn’t what they were hoping for, and the lines soon after ‘at times like this i look for a maze … i’d rather walk around in a hollow world than be in a world where i can’t move’ make me think they are looking for a new goal, since being stuck in place can be taxing in its own way (kinda like how some kids that hate school still look forward to it at the end of summer, even only if its for the first few days back). sorry if this is sorta all over the place lol, but i wanted to share my take since i hadnt really seen anything like it in the comment section, and my favourite thing about kikuo’s songs is how everyone can have a completely different interpretation!
I know it's not entirely correct, but I interpreted this the maze as the monotony of life, specifically in regards to school and work. The constant ascending and descending stairways without actually anywhere in life, feeling trapped within concrete grey walls, exhausting yourself for hours and slowly dying, only to wake up the next morning and do it all over again.
Oh!! At 3:25, the jellyfish from O Light appears! I think the two songs are both about the different sides to depression: misery and sadness, in O Light, and helpless apathy, in this song.
Apparently, this song is talking about a girl's life, in which every time she tries to find her way through, she likes gets into sticky situations, and she wishes to be confused about what to do or say, or where to go, in order to get past them.
I came up with a theory as soon as I saw the translation of each line. It's a lot different from the other theories I've seen, but I hope it makes a bit of sense. I personally thought of it as a metaphor for anorexia. It could definitely be about any sort of addiction, as previous comments have said. 00:01 A maze, a maze, a maze, I’m getting lost inside a maze. [Mazes are confusing and something you don't know how to get out of once you're in there.] 00:15 In front of me is a wall. Beside me are also walls. Below me and above me, all walls. [The feeling of being trapped with no way to exit the endless cycle.] 00:22 The floor gives way. I continue walking. Above and below, left and right, it’s morning, noon, evening. Suddenly, there’s a pitfall. I don’t even have the energy to scream out. [Not having energy because of the energy deficit.] 00:39 I keep on falling and falling, making a beeline toward what lies beyond the horizon. I ascend, then descend, descend, descend, and keep on descending some more. [It becomes an addiction.] 00:53 This strange horizon is just like how it was back when I was still alive. [No matter how deep into it you go, you still feel as depressed as you did before, when you were more 'alive'.] 01:00 Let’s suffer within this infinite maze. The sadness of coming upon a dead end; the surprise when the bottom gives way; the suffocation. Let’s suffer within this infinite maze. As I plod along, avoiding the odorless and colorless concrete slabs that stand in my way one after another, I’ll reach the goal someday. [Avoiding all the negative side effects, you're still determined to reach the unreachable goal.] 01:50 The floor gave way again, and I woke up, out of breath. I had a dream-a dream in which I was plodding along, winding my way through a gray maze. I ascend, then descend, descend, descend, and keep on descending some more. [Trying to recover once and giving up, then falling back even more.] 02:12 Such is the strange reality I tumble and fall through. Let’s suffer within this maze that’s lying in wait for me. A world where the 3000 entrances and 49 exits are revolving. Let’s suffer within this maze that’s lying in wait for me. I keep slipping and tumbling down, constantly being swept away somewhere. It’s miserable, but there’s a goal somewhere. [No matter how miserable everything is and everything that you're losing, the determination is so strong by now that you'll ignore it.] 03:06 Tumbling through the horizon, I fall into the maze. Escaping from the maze, I fall to the horizon again. It looks like everything I do and all I try is simply useless. [Feeling useless at everything else so you think this will solve everything.] 03:20 At times like that, let’s try searching for a maze. I’d rather walk around in a hollow world than be in a world where I can’t move. [It gives you comfort and feels like a friend, not realising that it's trying to kill you.] 03:36 Let’s try searching for a maze when I feel like losing my way. A hollow agony; a quiet sorrow- it’d be nice if that’s all there is. [The dark safety that it brings.] 03:49 Let’s try searching for a maze when I feel like losing my way. I’ve had enough, enough with the pain of going down a slope. The goal is… My goal is… The goal is… Not here yet. Not here. Alas! It's not here yet. [Never sick enough, until you eventually die. The chair falling down could symbolise death.]
You translated my thoughts very well. I also think this song is about the ups and downs of depression and how you sometimes will stick with your sickness because its addicting and/or conforting.
It's always nice seeing Wadanohara fans around. I've actually found a lot in comment sections of kikuo songs, like this! Makes me kinda wonder about that pattern, hehe.
This kind of has the same vibes at School Spirits where this girl would try to escape from the school and every time she was almost there she would have to start over again it’s the same thing with the girl in this story where she almost escapes a maze but has to start all over again
Theory: This is her version of hell, she is getting tortured by endless mazes where she can’t die to end the pain so she has no choice to get used to it. (She also says a line about when she was still alive)
This is just such a profound work of art. It takes serious talent to create something that so poignantly resonates with people stuck in their mental mazes...
I can see why you'd think that because the rhythm is kind of march-like (think the fat person tuba song, or circus music) and that one percussion instrument (xylophone maybe?) is kind of a "silly" instrument that would play in an old cartoon. And there's that honk thing that happens every now and then.
Kinda sounds like a child trying to please their narcistic mother by being as perfect as can be for a sliver of their love. Only to fall back into their emotional coldness, after trying so hard to navigate around them to make them happy.
even if im wrong, im putting this here -- I think this song is about losing yourself and/or mental health. the thought of a maze waiting for you makes me think of the fact that youre lost, cant get yourself back to reality, because youre stuck in the reality you made for yourself in your head, however when youre just about to get out you fall back into something that causes you to descend back into your original state of mind, restarting your maze.
I love how Hanatan manipulates her voice in a way that makes people think that there is more than 1 person singing the song.

Aand some lyrics represent girl's death(We can see a girl lying on the pool of blood too!)
In this theory, this song is about a girl dead, go to maze (purgatory I guess) and searching for exit of this world.

at the complete end of the video, 4:22 ,the way she is standing and the chair falling down really gives a strong implication of suicide, in my opinion.
Well i would assume so, the chair falling over is showing someone hanging themselves.
She must have gotten tired of the maze...
Yeah, I agree, in a part of the video (4:03) we can see her choking, like if she’s running out of oxygen
Something that feels fitting to me:
1:08 "The sadness of coming upon a dead end; the surprise when the bottom gives way; the suffocation."
"The sadness of coming upon a dead end" would be the reason for suicide, the dead end in life.
"the surprise when the bottom gives way" you don't hang yourself every day so I guess how it is must be surprising
"the suffocation." well..yeah.

Hanatan has a very theatrical and dramatic delivery to her voice, which I think complements Kikuo's style so well.

Well the jellyfish from O Light makes a cameo appearance so,,
The two videos were made by Otori so that's probably why. and both songs were also about an inescapable ordeal as well

きくおさんの世界観も素敵だし
はなたんさんの歌声の使い分け方も素敵で好きです…!🥰
the song reminds me of the feeling when you are trapped and alone in a bad situation, especially as a child, and use your imagination to escape from the real world.
often times, children who have stressful home lives will develop a kind of maladaptive daydreaming, where they daydream to escape from their struggles in the world, and dissapearing into this world of "mazes". being in their head so often usually hinders their development especially socially. I believe this song is about someone who used imaginative worlds to cope and now realizes that they cannot escape their made-up worlds and that all they are and ever will be is fake. but whenever they try to interact with the real world they don't know how to behave regularly and are ostracized and bullied for their poor communication skills...
probably not, though.
reminds me of something i used to do, now i dont know how to be social

This is my 87 time listening to this:4
Starlight Dust Niceee xD
this is a work of art I would love this to become anime
Wow, the animation is well done. The girl portrayed is in an awesome pokemon-ish style.
And not sure if I'm the only one, but I kind of hear tiny pokemon vibes in a small part of the music. Whoever made this animation tho did a good heckin job.
Well, Pokémon is a Japanese series/game series if I recall, and this is an anime-ish style.
@@quiet2697 nah nah, they were saying that the art style itself is like pokemon's. pokemon has a distinct art style, lol
It feels kinda like Nichijou to me for some reason.... Am I just crazy?
OMG THATS WHAT IT ISSS i couldn't put my finger on it! Pokemon X and Y!!!!
Hanatan-sama is adult child *i mean is her voice, she have a versatile voice*
I am really curious how the video was made! *o*
I'm certain 3D models were used, and assume the textures were edited in after rendering the raw video, but the wobbly lines have me stumped.
Oh, we could use a translator, or perhaps get someone who knows Japanese if we're certain the artist does not know English.
ハマってからまだ間もないけど、なんだこのクオリティ…最高。音使いとメロディー進行が馬鹿みたいに癖になるんだが…(笑)何回でも聴ける。大好きを超えた大大大好き。
I really like how the small mention that even in her dreams she is still in the maze, it just gives me the feeling that there is no moment of rest. Not even a moment of relief in a dream.

Hanatan is awesome. So is Kikuo. They are the little things that complete my life.
who's who?
sad boi Kikuo made the song, Hanatan sang it.
@@kayotic_catgirl SAD BOI KIKUO 🤣🤣🤣
Ah I love finding theories
When I saw the girls expression and how the world seemed empty and gray to her, and hard to get out of the maze, I also felt that the song may represent how the people with depression live their day to day feeling lost and without a sense of direction of where their life are going to go from now on :)
I just love Hanatan's vocals with Kikuo's instrumentals. They just complement each other so well.
I don't normally notice easter eggs, but I'm prettyyyy sure there was a ghost busters sign in there somewhere
SerialConvort dude i saw it too
yeah.. hh
I REMEMBER THIS SONG FROM 2022 😭😭😭
the purgatory refs are so right but this song is so deeply accurately about addiction. "It looks like everything I do and everything I try is simply useless.
At times like that, let’s try searching for a maze.
I’d rather walk around in a hollow world than be in a world where I can’t move.
"

i think this song is about someone with depression, the "maze" is the sadness, "ascending, then descending" the girls mental state is getting better, them worse again, eventually, the realizes that she's been stuck in sadness and depression for so long that she cant exist in the world, and that shed rather be stuck in a hollow world, or, depression, then in a world where she cant move, or, cant fit in, but she knows that if she gives into the depression, she'll probably end up killing herself, so she pulls a homura and continues to fight, she continues so aimlessly wander through the maze, but eventually she "falls through the floor again", or, her mental state tanks, and she gives up, and guves in to despair, and hsngs herself
when you're trying to find your friends phone that they lost, but it's not your best friend, nor your actual friend, just a friend of friends. So you have to make it look like you give a shit.
Lmao
I am someone who can relate to most of kikuo's songs and everytime i listen to then they give me somekind of comfort instead of feeling sad i feel comforted and im happy that many others feel the same way. I really enjoy kikuo's arts and i hope that he enjoys and continues what hes doing. Have a wonderful day to anyone who is reading this and i hope you are doing alright :)

Honestly hanatan did better than the vocaloid one, her voice fits well with this song and the way her voice changes is amazing. All of kikuos music deserve so much attention, hanatan and kikuo did so good on this song
Edit: listening to this song over and over again still gives me chills, hanatan did such a good job on this song
I love this so much, how could i not find this sooner??
I'm in love with this song
personally i interpret this song as sort of being about the monotony of life. in the first portion of the song, the girl goes through the maze, falling and meeting obstacles and moving forward despite it (i think as sort of like a metaphor for the work we have to put in in order to reach our goal). the lines ‘i ascend, then descend, descend, descend…’ really reminds me of the saying ‘one step forward, two steps back’ and a feeling of not making any progress, which i think is something a lot of people feel in transitional periods of their life (during times of study/moving up the corporate ladder where you sorta just have to get through it in order to reach your goal). mention of the maze seeming infinite makes me think of how during those times since the progress is really slow, it can feel like your getting nowhere fast, and sort of pointless. around 2/3rds into the song, the line about it all seeming pointless kinda gives me the idea that the mc may have abandoned what they were working towards/reached it and realized it wasn’t what they were hoping for, and the lines soon after ‘at times like this i look for a maze … i’d rather walk around in a hollow world than be in a world where i can’t move’ make me think they are looking for a new goal, since being stuck in place can be taxing in its own way (kinda like how some kids that hate school still look forward to it at the end of summer, even only if its for the first few days back).
sorry if this is sorta all over the place lol, but i wanted to share my take since i hadnt really seen anything like it in the comment section, and my favourite thing about kikuo’s songs is how everyone can have a completely different interpretation!
やっぱりきくおはな最高だ…
love kikuo, love hanatan, and this is so well presented >_<

この子がようやく迷宮のゴールを見つけても、その先もまた迷宮だったりして
legend has it, she's still looking for the exit up till this day
Apparently, this song is talking about a girl's life, in which every time she tries to find her way through, she likes gets into sticky situations, and she wishes to be confused about what to do or say, or where to go, in order to get past them.
nice way to start off spring break. getting extra sleep and waking up to a new kikuo song
Great song. One could even say it's aMAZEing.
seriously this song makes me feel so good
I came up with a theory as soon as I saw the translation of each line. It's a lot different from the other theories I've seen, but I hope it makes a bit of sense. I personally thought of it as a metaphor for anorexia. It could definitely be about any sort of addiction, as previous comments have said.
00:01
A maze, a maze, a maze, I’m getting lost inside a maze.
[Mazes are confusing and something you don't know how to get out of once you're in there.]
00:15
In front of me is a wall. Beside me are also walls. Below me and above me, all walls.
[The feeling of being trapped with no way to exit the endless cycle.]
00:22
The floor gives way. I continue walking. Above and below, left and right, it’s morning, noon, evening.
Suddenly, there’s a pitfall. I don’t even have the energy to scream out.
[Not having energy because of the energy deficit.]
00:39
I keep on falling and falling, making a beeline toward what lies beyond the horizon.
I ascend, then descend, descend, descend, and keep on descending some more.
[It becomes an addiction.]
00:53
This strange horizon is just like how it was back when I was still alive.
[No matter how deep into it you go, you still feel as depressed as you did before, when you were more 'alive'.]
01:00
Let’s suffer within this infinite maze.
The sadness of coming upon a dead end; the surprise when the bottom gives way; the suffocation.
Let’s suffer within this infinite maze.
As I plod along, avoiding the odorless and colorless concrete slabs
that stand in my way one after another, I’ll reach the goal someday.
[Avoiding all the negative side effects, you're still determined to reach the unreachable goal.]
01:50
The floor gave way again, and I woke up, out of breath.
I had a dream-a dream in which I was plodding along, winding my way through a gray maze.
I ascend, then descend, descend, descend, and keep on descending some more.
[Trying to recover once and giving up, then falling back even more.]
02:12
Such is the strange reality I tumble and fall through.
[No matter how miserable everything is and everything that you're losing, the determination is so strong by now that you'll ignore it.]
03:06
Tumbling through the horizon, I fall into the maze. Escaping from the maze, I fall to the horizon again.
It looks like everything I do and all I try is simply useless.
[Feeling useless at everything else so you think this will solve everything.]
03:20
At times like that, let’s try searching for a maze.
I’d rather walk around in a hollow world than be in a world where I can’t move.
[It gives you comfort and feels like a friend, not realising that it's trying to kill you.]
03:36
Let’s try searching for a maze when I feel like losing my way.
A hollow agony; a quiet sorrow- it’d be nice if that’s all there is.
[The dark safety that it brings.]
03:49
Let’s try searching for a maze when I feel like losing my way.
I’ve had enough, enough with the pain of going down a slope.
The goal is… My goal is… The goal is…
Not here yet.
Not here.
Alas!
It's not here yet.
[Never sick enough, until you eventually die. The chair falling down could symbolise death.]
You translated my thoughts very well. I also think this song is about the ups and downs of depression and how you sometimes will stick with your sickness because its addicting and/or conforting.
Excelent job, Kikuo, like always♡

一時期めっちゃハマってたw懐かしい😂
i just got a really good grade in one of my classes and then this happens. life is worth living
When ever I hear this I always think of something from a comedy, I have no idea why, just me?
I can see why you'd think that because the rhythm is kind of march-like (think the fat person tuba song, or circus music) and that one percussion instrument (xylophone maybe?) is kind of a "silly" instrument that would play in an old cartoon. And there's that honk thing that happens every now and then.
Kinda sounds like a child trying to please their narcistic mother by being as perfect as can be for a sliver of their love.
Only to fall back into their emotional coldness, after trying so hard to navigate around them to make them happy.
even if im wrong, im putting this here --
I think this song is about losing yourself and/or mental health. the thought of a maze waiting for you makes me think of the fact that youre lost, cant get yourself back to reality, because youre stuck in the reality you made for yourself in your head, however when youre just about to get out you fall back into something that causes you to descend back into your original state of mind, restarting your maze.
