I just found this 2 weeks ago on Spotify and can't go a day without listening to this or Hitogawari at least once. It sounds so unique, never heard anything like this before and I listen to music a lot. Praying Kikuo will make more like this someday. Here’s my hot take: I feel like the song is about a woman who was in a, not abusive, but a toxic relationship where they didn’t actually love each other. The lyrics around 30 seconds in states “In a dream I saw a looming tower rising from the crumbling earth” which, to me, means she had saw how the other person in the relationship would thrive after he left her, “Drenched in your tears” at 43 seconds, could be hinting at the fact he was upset at his current relationship status with her, the “Theater” she mentions at the chorus could be hinting at the relationship they were in, she seemed to be pleading for him not to leave, afterwards she states the things she wants him to do for her, not wanting to be left alone. The dying bodies I don’t really have a theory on, but to me I feel like the line “Take the decaying bodies so they may be reborn in the depth of night” could be saying “take the imperfections in this relationship and let’s try to heal it” this song has a weird amount of things to do with the night, so what if the “Lalalas” are her calling out for her past lover to come back to her. It states that she had “Sailed off a cliff” and “Waited for your blood” so what if that’s her doing things for the relationship, waiting for him to do the same in return. In the second chorus she pleads to someone to show her that the relationship was toxic, as she falls in the “cold night” of realization. One thing that made this theory pop into my head is this line, “You’ve always been the only one that I sought” meaning that she didn’t want him to leave her. She then says “Forever here, at the bottom of the stars” meaning she felt STUCK!!! She then begs for the person not to leave the theater/relationship, closely following it by saying “Piece together my decaying heart” Idk guys, it’s just a theory, thoughts?

Here’s my hot take: I feel like the song is about a woman who was in a, not abusive, but a toxic relationship where they didn’t actually love each other. The lyrics around 30 seconds in states “In a dream I saw a looming tower rising from the crumbling earth” which, to me, means she had saw how the other person in the relationship would thrive after he left her, “Drenched in your tears” at 43 seconds, could be hinting at the fact he was upset at his current relationship status with her, the “Theater” she mentions at the chorus could be hinting at the relationship they were in, she seemed to be pleading for him not to leave, afterwards she states the things she wants him to do for her, not wanting to be left alone. The dying bodies I don’t really have a theory on, but to me I feel like the line “Take the decaying bodies so they may be reborn in the depth of night” could be saying “take the imperfections in this relationship and let’s try to heal it” this song has a weird amount of things to do with the night, so what if the “Lalalas” are her calling out for her past lover to come back to her. It states that she had “Sailed off a cliff” and “Waited for your blood” so what if that’s her doing things for the relationship, waiting for him to do the same in return. In the second chorus she pleads to someone to show her that the relationship was toxic, as she falls in the “cold night” of realization. One thing that made this theory pop into my head is this line, “You’ve always been the only one that I sought” meaning that she didn’t want him to leave her. She then says “Forever here, at the bottom of the stars” meaning she felt STUCK!!! She then begs for the person not to leave the theater/relationship, closely following it by saying “Piece together my decaying heart” Idk guys, it’s just a theory, thoughts?
