I've been stalking the reaction videos to this cover by Teddy Swims, and the one thing that is constant is everyone's reaction within the first 3 seconds of the song...that moment that he captures your whole soul. He completely and uniquely makes every song he sings his own. And he genuinely seems like a sweet guy.
Hi. This happened to me today. This is 8/9/2023 and I heard of him for the first time today doing some other song on Tik Tok. When I came to RUclips to find the full version, I found him singing Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me." This is not an Adele song - it's a Bonnie Raitt original.

Teddy grew up navigating different worlds: he was a football player, a musical theater student and the grandson of a Pentecostal pastor. Teddy was exposed to a wider variety of music than most “country boys”. In high school and over the next few years he was in several bands, genres ranging from 80’s hair metal, funk, modern metalcore, soul, and country alternative bands. These experiences make Teddy who he is as an artist.
In March of 2019, Teddy went on his first US tour as a hip-hop artist with his best friend Addy Maxwell, which he describes as freeing experience, as he was able to continue to expand into uncharted territory. Teddy Swims has emotional range and such a rich texture, he's unbelievable. The original was by Bonnie Rait. First heard the song when it was done by Kenny Rogers, very good country-ish version. Heard a lot of covers, but this is the best. Teddy Swims is going to go very far. I love his work.

Holy love songs, Batman!! I stopped the video right after he started singing (along with you) just to catch my breath. I rarely do that, rarely does an artist get to me quite like this one did. In the beginning his voice is so crystal clear and smooth. And then it got raspy and textured... back to the smooth and then back to the raspiness. Wow what a ride! This guy was incredible! This video posted in October of 2019 and I just found out about this guy in the last 2 weeks. He did do a cover of an Adele song which was "Make You Feel My Love", however this song was originally performed by Bonnie Raitt and it was a huge success for her. When I first heard of Teddy it was from a cover he did from a Bill Withers song "Use Me". Withers just passed away and he tributed his version of the song to him. Then the other day this song came my way and I've been body-slammed ever since. Check out his other covers.
