    On my trip to Beagle Point, I went to Sagitarius A*, then Beagle Point, swung around to Colonia and back to Sol. My data sold for almost 1 billion credits and for the most part, that was just honking systems on my way across the galaxy. Good thing you don't plan to use FSD Injections. As of last week, the map won't allow you to exceed your jump range even after doing an injection. I've also heard rumours the same is true for neutron star boosts. You can boost, but you're still restricted to the ship's normal jump range. I did the trip without fleet carriers as they did not exist. Also, once I arrived at Beagle Point, I continued outward to see how far I could go. It was only three more jumps. I was so far from home at that point, that I could see the entire Milky Way in my field of view.

    Loved the recipe, but I made a couple small changes. Medium seemed too small for so long so I took my T10 with bowling alley and inship swimming pool. Stocked up the Latvian Brandy, lasers for the fireworks when I get there. Just passed Sag A and heading out the Point!

    If you want an extra internal slot, you don't really need two AFMU's because even if one completely breaks, you can bring it back to 1% with reboot/repair and it will work the same as it does on 100%. That said, I bring two of them as well if I have a slot I don't know what to do with. Just for the feeling.

    I'd add one piece of advice to any potential new explorers in the game. Read up on the DSSA fleet carriers. In short, each sector in the galaxy has 3 permanently placed carriers which can be used for repairs/UC etc. I did my first trip around the galaxy without knowing about them, but they have been a godsend since. It is daunting to think you may be 1000 jumps from the nearest station, but in reality the carriers are usually much closer.

    I'm fairly new to Elite Dangerous. Only had it for a couple months. I have been trying to check out the various options for play. I had been running a Keelback for transport and decided to try out passengers. I bought a Dolphin and grabbed a couple missions going to the same location, Giles Station/Deriso. I was in Rhea.... Apparently I did not look too closely at the distance to travel and had 6 days to get there. My poor ship only had a 20ly jump range and I did not know how to use the Neutron highway. 1150ish jumps later, I managed to get there a day before the missions expired and sold the cursory system scans for about 51 million. I decided that since I needed to go back I would get an ASP Explorer for the return journey and try to maximize the jump range. I'm currently at 31ly and the trip is only 650ish jumps. I'm at 380 jumps left and my FSD is slowly being damaged from the Neutron highway. I didn't even think about the repair modules... Man, if I make it back with my detailed system scans I will have to look into upgrades.

    I started playing (Xbox) a few weeks ago and used your videos to outfit a non-eng AspX. Which thank you but...now I'm a few K LY out of the bubble and you tell me I'm supposed to PLAN? Question: When you're heading out to check out a new area do you make a bee line for that area before you start spending time scanning planets or do you scan along the way? I've been scanning as I go and I'm not sure its worth the time to scan generic systems as I make my way to a nebula.

    • @Rigel_Chiokis
      @Rigel_Chiokis 3 года назад +2

      When I went to Beagle Point, I occasionally scanned the planets in a system. For the most part, I just honked the system. I would open the FSS just to see if the system had any of the Big Money Worlds (as I call them), those being Water, Ammonia and Earth-like. Definitely scan and surface map those. With Odyssey, they can range in value from 500,000 to 3.5 million credits each. But with about 90% of my charting just honking systems, I made about 940 million credits total. It got me promoted to Elite Explorer when I sold the data.

    Using less than what is available and thinking you're special is really silly - I get that FC counts less, but Engineering exists and Guardians existed. Personal preference of course.
    You didn't mention walking on planets with Odyssey. I've not used Odyssey stuff outside bubble yet - I plan to as soon as I get happy with my newly purchased FC - though I won't be taking that. @Rigel_Chiokis 3 года назад +2

      Yes, an engineered DBX can jump about 6 to 7 light years further than an AspX. But. The DBX can only carry a class 4 fuel scoop, so once you jump, it takes a minute or so to refuel. If you refuel after every jump. In my AspX, with the 6A fuel scoop, I only have a 16T fuel tank, I scoop after every jump (after all, you need to fly past the star to line up your next jump anyway) and it's fully fueled before I can pass the star. So although the jump range isn't as great as the DBX, I can cover 1,000 LY faster than any DBX can.
