The places you were trying to land at the start of the video were landable, the circle underneath your ship was blue but your ship wasn't. The symbol that tells you if it was unlandable or landable was orange and there were arrows above it telling you to nose up a little.
I'm starting to feel like he is either trolling us just to make use of the docking computer or he doesn't actually know how to land his ship. Probably trolling.
Yeah, selling data at Explorer's Anchorage can take a bit. Brings back memories. It has to do with the "must be 20LY or more away" rule combined with the massive number of stars at the Core, so it's a huuuuuge database to sift through.
Exploring looks so fun. I've even got an asp explorer and since I'm a noob, I've been using it to get bounties since I put my imp eagle into storage. Maybe I should start selling map data and get out there.
@@asdfk4312 that happened to me a few times today. Also blew out my supercruise module somehow. I'm parked in the pipe stem region right now lol. Needed a break after venturing that far out of the bubble today. Scanned a ton of systems. Found a white dwarf! Then I sadly realized that there is only a small area of human systems in the milky way. It's lonely out in space.
Coincidentally enough, I am almost to Sag A. My 3rd attempt. I get distracted very easily by something new and shiny. I use a Krait MKII. I love my ship. Her and I have had lots of scrapes and adventures. I drove her all the way here from the bubble. I've been thousands of light years in all directions from Jaques Station. I came out to Colonia a long time ago and prefer living there.
o7 ! Love the series!! Just arrived at Colonia the other day from Fuelum! Currently parked at Jacques with my 60LY Conda! Thinking Beagle Point and Sag A next :)
only got about 200 hours under my name - but you have got me to go exploring - just hit Sag A* from Colonia - now on my way to Beagle Point It's been awesome! Also trying without engineering and boosters Keep up the content!! Edit i work from home so I jump inbetween when I've got a couple mins here or there
haha , im going to beagle as well, just taking quick stops along the way to visit some pretty places. took a two month break from elite and im back on the road again
I'm on a trip to Beagle Point as well. Currently docked in that same station. Running an engineered build, but i don't do injections or hopping. o7, see ya there :)
I've had that same issue with exploration data not loading properly at Explorer's Anchorage. I'm currently tooling around the Galactic Center as well in my Asp just mapping planets and getting my SRVs stuck in craters that they can't get out of....
Great video series, heading to Beagle just now myself (Cmdr Wolf Astartes) in a 34ly Cobra, just 10kly ahead of you. Btw, there's a third anomaly type to scan in the Notable Stellar Phenomena, you've missed it.
I so want to get back into this especially with all the new updates! I've completely forgot how to play the game though lol. Back when Void opal farming was super popular!
If you’re still near a station by the time you read this, consider picking up the Artemis suit. I think it should protect against heat better than the standard flight suit. (Don’t quote me on this idk)
Loving this series man Your giving me that old exploration Itch.. Been out to the farthest point's heading away from the galactic center, now your making me want to go out to Colonia, and then to well Sag... since There's no long any war in my system IT might be a good time to go out and say Hey! :D That is of course IF I could find you and you play in open while exploring. :)
If you watch it carefully, the spot was actually landable. But: 1. the ship was too low to be able to see the blue dot on the radar. 2. The ship's nose was too low and there were some arrows signalizing to pull it up. That's why the ui didn't turn blue and he thought that the spot was not landable
You really have to be careful with things like that. Sometimes extreme terrain is actually glitched and going into it can crash your game - which may have trapped me and ultimately cost me that section of the voyage. That's why I was so worried.
@@SepulcherGeist Believe me I know, I have been stuck in ravines for hours desperately trying to get to my recalled ship. One of more frustrating/fun parts of exploration is being way too reckless with your only SRV
Cool. It varies. One day I didn't play at all, another I think I only did like 10-15 jumps. But the other days I've been doing this journey I spent like... 3 or 4 hours jumping? Not super duper long, but still a good chunk of time. I couple it with other activities, of course. Videos, music, chatting on the phone, even doing college work. But I typically do push myself as I jump, I try to get on subsequent jumps as quick as I can to keep dragging myself forward.
the reason why you couldnt land is because you completely ignore the yellow "nose up or down" sign which if you follow will turn blue and allows you to land.
The AspX actually seems a bit bugged for landing, like for some reason it needs more space to land than it actually does. I'm not a fan of this landing mechanics at all, let me land anywhere, block the SRV hangar, actually keep the actual thing to find spots where you can deploy the SRV, but let me land wherever I want.
What's your opinion on bringing a 1D repair limpet controller on long trips? Not just for peace of mind but also to combat space madness, as there's an extra thing your ship can do? I always get great satisfaction out of seeing the percentage go back up to 100 if I've had a mishap.
It's a good idea if your ship has room for it and it doesn't significantly impact jump distance. Thing is it requires the controller and the cargo space, and limpets. You can build limpets with materials on the fly if you need to, but that's generally a waste of resources compared to buying them cheaply outright. I personally would only bring repair limpet stuff if I had a large, all-purpose deep space vessel for a very long expedition where I intend to be out there for major periods of time. Just running to Beagle and back I wouldn't bother bringing them. I've gone to Beagle and back without ever taking a tick of damage after all.
@@SepulcherGeist Interesting, when I build my explorer ship I like to pack everything for self suffciency, even though I realise that it is relatively low risk. So after my first big journey to Colonia with a stock DBX, I'm heading to Beagle with a chunky Python that only does 47 ly with engineered FSD and guradian FSD booster, but is packed full of crap. Got repair limpets and even fuel limpets in case I need to save my friend. But I still wish I had more space to pack the docking computer and why not an extra fuel tank or second amfu as well. I guess one day I will end up exploring with a Type 9.
Real Planets are boring when they are playable in Videogames. Like ya know, the thing you said about Base Building and what not. And that is why i like No Mans Sky. It is not realistic and that is fine it's a Videogame and games are here to have some fun and show reality the middle finger!!! NMS is not perfect but Hello Games has done a Hell of a lot of Work and they released all the content 4Free!!! 2021 Frontiers is comming!!! Can't wait to get my hands on it! Just a lil tip for 0:48, you could've landed there without auto land but all you had to do is just bring the nose of the ship up a bit
@2:07 Looks crowded. lmao
I prefer the look from the Formadine Rift, it is stellar opposite. (pun may or may not of been intended....
may of.)
You know what they say, "don't eat the yellow soil". :)

Headed to the rim😁. The dead opposite situation. Figured id see what was opposite beagle point. Exp, still the best thing in elite.

Btw......in Colonia have Lagrange cloud at least one of those
This landing issue is one of the weirdest things in Elite... Lading gear being several legs a ship should be able to land practically everywhere.

UC at EX has always been super slow. Seems like the further you get from Sol the harder it is to get the UC to work properly.
Don't forget it's "Sagittarius Ay Star". You don't want Scott Manley to come get you, do you?
9:10 Imagine accidentally falling in there with your SRV

God no. That'd make this trip take literally years. I scan systems I find suspect, and sometimes randomly do it when I want to mix things up.

"Looks like R Kelly's bedsheets." Yikes!
