I watch every single video of yours man and i love the way you work. I own a phone service shop also and i know how hard this things are. *this is my first comment on your channel bro* Thank you 😊
Apart of heating, another possible method is to measure voltage drops across the traces. When there are many caps on a rail the voltage drop on its say GND end in respect of the source GND will a tad higher than adjacent caps. The power source is better set in constant current mode for this method.
I agree, crack kills... Joking aside, don't lose you mind. Today I had two no fixes, but this month I have the most successes ever since I started... (I don't have a lot of phones coming in for board repair, so two for me is quite a big number)
Hi ,Thanks for your videos , about your schaking microscobe , I have same problen , but after I make a holder bolt direkt on the wall , and no contakt to the my worktable ,it's mutch more stabil .
i know exactly how you feel Jason..being in this business 17 years...i still have a good fix ratio but i7 are shit....just found out sth,...i removed the epoxy glue from between the BB and CPU and the funny thing is...if you put your tweezers on the edge of the CPU you can actually see it bouncing up and down which must put extreme pressure on the surrounding few rows on both IC's, its literally like an edge where the mainboard is most likely to bent, right between the 2 chips so i suppose thats where most of the problems will be
I replaced my battery and earpeice on an iPhone 7. Used hair dryer to loosen glue moving around the phone as not to heat one spot up too much. I used ifixit tutorials to do the replacement. Put phone back together. The earpeice sounds better and the battery is good now, but now the home button doesn't work. Turned phone off and on several times. Did I kill my home button? Is there a way to get a screen with original home button and swap them out or is the home button programed to motherboard?
This is most likely a tear in the home button flex cable that goes from the screen assembly to the phone. Very common. It would be fixable by replacing the screen assembly. I have seen many home button issues but this one hasn’t ever been removed from the screen so the button has a good chance of not being the problem.
Your work is amazing you make it look so easy, an iPhone 6S in UK is only worth £120-150 I have a filter off, but £100 to have new filter soldered on at £100 to expensive sadly
anyone know what happens if i connect external power supply directly to the mobo battery port 8v by mistake instead of 4v ? (without the battery itself) any voltage regulator can die ? what's iphones VR (voltage regulator) limit ? thanks
Good Job. The cpu can bee time consuming because you can easily juse 3 hours. Didn't you see IPad rehab and Rewa trying to repair cpu 3 days ago? They didn't make it.
Alcohol is non-conductive. Water by itself is non-conductive. You can use distilled water on electronics. It is the desolved impurities that make water conductive.
good video , no fixes means poor design, if they were designed robustly general electronics repair would fix every phone. as it is apple doesnt want repair techs doing these repairs . so i believe they intentionally make them to eventually fail. so you buy a new phone lol
Hello Jason my Name is Edgar, i am a fan of your channel in microsoldering , you were the inspiration for me to start my own channel of course with many of your ideas. You can check it out. My channel is in Spanish and i have notice that you also have many Hispanic admirers. I hope you find the time to reply, and id also liked to congratulate you for you channel , you have a unique technique to explain. You have a kind of humility that is to learn from. Thanks for everything! Everything I know now is thanks to you
Hi Jason, how many no fix repair per 100 phones you have? I have just broke up iphone SE and i am dissapointed. I repaired no touch, but after while no touch preblem began again, when i do the same repair again, mobile won t boot, and short was somewhere in CPU. Do you think it can be caused by static electricity or something else? Btw the short draws something around 0.5 A. Thanks for respond, love your videos :)
HI Jason, have you seen Iphone 7 bootlooping(faster than usual) , SW passes and its not the AUDIO IC fix? i have 4 of them in the last week and its pretty killing me as i cant get my head around the fact SW passes which means all the voltages are there but still boot loops. SO i am guessing some data line is gone but cant find which one.All of them were dropped thank you for any info Vlad
My Huawei Honor is now three years old. I've only dropped it ten or twelve times on the concrete floor. Only left it out in the rain once or twice. Dropping it in the snow doesn't count as anything. It works perfectly and still looks brand new. Cost under $400. Can someone please explain to me why anyone would buy a Apple phone.
I am considering ordering a logic board from Aliexpress. I purchased an iPhone 11,with a complety messed up board. The prociessor chip is completly destroyed. THe board was cracked in half. No possible repair, other than replace the entire board. And Aliexpress has the best prices.
heya oke we have a no ficks because of a short cpu not your mistake only to bad for the time you put in to it well for us watchers that is something differant and still we learn from it thnks man
My problem is I bought a micro scoop but this device is getting smaller things do not grow up. When I try to raise the mackerel to the top I have no lungs
@@bakeralshrefe9028 Do you one knob or two knobs. One is for height and other is zoom. Usually the smaller one is for the Zoom and then Adjust with the Big Round Knob.

@Nikola Malic, reballing/reflowing is very useful in cases where the balls are the issue. For example meson and cumulus touch IC'S are usually the balls, rather than the chips itself from what ive seen, SMC's on macs are commonly the balls, BGA LPDDR ram is commonly the balls rather than the chips, sometimes on PCH or CPU on any machine its the balls, it can happen from repeated heated/cooling over time, flexion and expansion, excacerbated by improper pcb thickness and cooling, drops, or liquid damage, corrosion or oxidation, etc. Also some manufactures, if you have a sketchy one, use poor BGA rework stations when placing these chips that dont actually get things to the proper temperature/time recommended by the manufacture of that part.... which can cause issues with the balls later on in some point in time, although dont get me wrong the silicone in the chips do definately fail in a lot of cases, that is very common as well, but thats not always the case. sometimes its just a ball and a proper reflow or reball with heatgun/bga rework station will be affective in those cases. but its important to understand which is the issue, so you can go about repairing it correctly and affectively.
@Nikola Malic So much Hate, BTW Reball works for Touch IC 6 plus And most Audio IC in 7s, Baseband on 6 and more. My question still not answered, if its toast or not?
I just got one with a short on pp1v1_sdram. sad :( took everything off the board relating to that line except cpu/sdram and the line is still shorted. fook a iphone 7 plus

Always post your failures .. that is the best way to learn and tells everyone else what is going on .. another good video

A thermal camera will help you to find directly the component that heats

i have the same issue like this, there is a guys on new york brookyn, which is call i11 tech.
Yes, I did catch some of it toward the end. I was really hoping to see it boot!
With all these ram shorts you think its time to invest in a cnc or dremmel?
How does the alcohol not short out the board on it's own? I thought alcohol was conductive? Thanks
Alcohol is non-conductive. Water by itself is non-conductive. You can use distilled water on electronics. It is the desolved impurities that make water conductive.
