Hey Jason! This is Kyle from The Screen Spot ( we franchised out back in sept and became a CPR) we have a new shop an everything in festus. Just wanted to say thank you for all the work you did for us and working with us over the last few years and being a great friend to us all! If your game we have more micro soldering we can send your way. We watch your videos each time you upload.

Another fantastic video, thank you! In regards to the socializing comment, I feel what's actually made me better in electronic repair is the fact that I struggle socially just like you. Sadly we've had a tremendous amount of turnover at my work and in turn I've been able to meet the tremendous amount of people interested in electronic repair. The best ones seem to have the same personality. A little introverted, have trouble carrying a fluid conversation. Me being one of those people it's easy to talk to them but it became fairly clear early on that the best ones are weird LOL

*I can TOTALLY relate - especially on the anxiety! Though I spent my whole life performing on stage as a vocalist - singing with different bands, last minute gigs, working on a morning radio show to hospitality, reception, customer service and events for companies like Coca Cola and Indian Motorcycle.*
*[THEN] I had kids and became a stay at home mom so - 13 years in and I NOW I dread having to socialize with anyone because I feel so uncomfortable and AWKWARD.*
*At least you’re progressing!?! I’m one of the few who think Covid is the best thing to ever happen because I don’t have to go places and talk to people I’m not related to!* 😜

It enabled me to purchase my 1st house. I owe a ton to this man, if you ever come out to Alberta I have a place for you and your family to stay for a little vacation! The absolute least I could do!!

Thanks for this great video! This is the first NAND swap video I’ve found that shows how everything is done. I’m hoping to one day try this out on an iPhone XS Max by upgrading a board from 64GB to 512GB. Unfortunately it does look like those NAND readers for iPhone 8’s and later are really expensive but if anyone knows of one that I could buy for a bit cheaper that would be nice

@@xtreme9942 luckily though that was last year and they have dropped in price quite a lot since the nand bga arrangement has been around for awhile now and is still currently being used in the latest Apple soldered on SSDs in all their macs and also the nands in the newest iphones. But interestingly enough, we now have a bootrom exploit for iPhone X and older that allows us to extract the data necessary to reprogramming right from the phone itself through a lightning cable so that helps with older devices. Though at least with newer ones the reprogrammers are still not nearly as expensive

Jason I understand that PCB holder you use in the video is also supposed to allow you to use it as a preheater dismantling platform
by connecting a soldering iron into the socket at the side. In the video you use a hot air wand.
Have you tried using the platform's preheat function. If so is it any good or just a waste of time?

This is often caused when the metal that partially covers Tristar is cut to do the repair. I have seen a small burr or sharp frayed piece of metal that sticks out just a tiny bit. When the board is tightened into the housing, the USB 5v rail gets shorted to ground because the sharp metal cuts into the dock flex.

Great Video I must say. I had a similar problem on my iPhone 11 and I sent it in for Repair and they would have charged me 500€. That‘s how much I bought the phone for. And as a kid I don‘t have that kind of money. I said to them send me the phone back. When I got my phone back I tried to restore it again but with a different cable because the other one was not MFI certified. And guess what: The phone worked and I was using the iPhone 11 until I replaced it with an iPhone SE 2. Gen. This hole thing because of an cable. That was 6 months ago.

Hey Jason. The same thing happened to me with the google ads. I tried to do everything I can to get approved but kept getting disapproved for the same exact reasons. I switch to Facebook and instagram. My advice that works is use customer video reviews on social media. Holy crap that got me a lot of businesses. Even though google lost my business with them. Google doesn’t fully dominate online business. Basically there’s more than one way to get customers online. Check out my Facebook Fixacrackediphone page to see how I do my video reviews with customers.

Great vid once again. Your're instrucions and technical explaination are what I like about your channel. Your failures also only help to make us understand and learn from what can be a very demanding, complicated and trying occupation with cutting edge technology. As to censorship, you are now on the frontline of a david and goliath battle for TRTR, but this is also happaneng with telco's in Asutralia banning websites, YT banning channnels and Ads. Will this affect any other users who do instructional videos such as mechanic, electrical or computer related content? Probably not. The bean counters at Apple et al are (prob over) estimating how much money they are losing through businesses like yours and have began a war. Most people would just throw away a potentially fixable phone which is sooo much better for the environment, and of course we can all afford a $1.5k new phone every 2/3 years. Good luck to you and your business for the future.

I'm really not sure how deep this goes but a while back RUclips announced that they would no longer recommend "conspiracy videos". I worry that we as repair techs are starting to be made out as villains and that our "repair" videos could one day wind up in the "conspiracy" video category. It is starting to feel like more of a war indeed since many of us are honest and only trying to do people right while large corporations are using media, government & lies to make us look bad. It's frustrating.

The reason why I have no supporters because I have been took advantage of and gossip and have no faith in so called fake people that have an ego that are full of themselves and I do not ask for help because about 80 to 90% of people are either too rich, snarky, or stuck up to help and those evil people say no. Everytime I went to ask for help, whether it be financial or whatever, I got yelled in my face no. So I avoid asking for help. Do not give me any advice on that. To beat it all, I am a non violent, non evil, non rude, elegant, loving, caring, compassionate person towards others, they do not show me the same emotions in return. I do not like gossip so keep your gossiping crap away from me. Do you not know or have any idea how damaging or unrepairable gossip is and I will not explain myself and I do not have to explain myself to you.

Hey Jason, big fan here. I have an iphone 7 (a1778) with audio issues, but I'm not sure the IC is the root cause. The only issue I can find is that people cannot hear me on voice calls. It seems worse when I cover the proximity sensor. This issue appeared with 11.3 but has not gone away with 12.1 or 12.3 upgrades. It's pretty likely it's the audio IC but have you seen a problem present like this?
    My testing has revealed this:
    Boots fast.
    Speaker not greyed out.
    can record voice memos.
    siri works.
The only other thing of note is that the silent switch is a little 'loose'.
    Just curious what you thought.

this happen to my xiaomi mi a2 lite phone too it wouldnt boot and i sent it to service centre and they said there was problems with the board and swap it with a newer fresh board with a new os in it lol
"i did drop the phone 10 times ++ but i was using a shockproof case i do not know if that is what causes the issue of not booting and random OS crashes etc" anyways sold that phone and obtain a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and i loving this new phone :D
