    3:31 Awesome scene , a 10-score, for sure. Mav likely survived his insane need for speed by ejecting - or rather separating - the cockpit portion of the plane. Notice how he rapidly pulls all the way back on those side controls before all contact is lost. At that moment, the monitors go black at Mach 10.4. Hmm...10-4 is code for I'm ok, no assistance required, etc. Just a theory, of course. But ejecting at hypersonic speeds obviously puts horrific stress on a body (think heat/fire, air pressure, flying debris...). Best chance for pilot survival is inside an escape pod, like others have suggested.

    • @DarkLordDiablos
      @DarkLordDiablos Год назад +36

    Music cutting out at 2:48 was brilliant. Show don't tell done perfectly. We all knew what he was thinking the second it happened.

    What an incredible way to start the movie. It tells you so much - that Maverick is one to push beyond what anyone else would, but also makes his ability to keep himself/others safe unpredictable

    The part where he looks at the sun and says "talk to me goose" might be the most powerful scene in the whole movie
