All it takes is ten minutes or less for an unpatched system to get infected by just connecting to the Internet itself (you don't need to browse the internet) and this can be exacerbated by the EternalBlue vulnerability that was patched in 2017 (so this build is very vulnerable) where hackers abuse an SMB vulnerability kept secret by the U.S. government for years. Hackers are constantly scanning across the Internet for vulnerable systems and it's not hard for them to do since the process is completely automated. I am not switching to Linux I love older Windows if I have to play consoles and Steam ends support on Windows 10 I am going back to ps3 and possibly running a jailbreak for older games I've been seeing people jailbreak their older consoles lately than running Steam. I feel strange running Linux even if I can make it more modern than Windows unless it's me not getting used to unknown territory Windows has always been my home. If Microsoft gets rid of Recall and TPM 2.0 requirements in the future I might go back to them if they want me to upgrade that badly they need to bring the old Microsoft back nobody can really afford new computers with all the price hiking. I am not about to let Linux replace what I've been using since I was a kid I am going to continue to fight for my rights until Microsoft loses in court they're already failing are you going to join the fight?
To be fair, TPM 2.0 can be easily bypassed and all CPUs since the 8th gen Intel Core and first gen Ryzen. Recall is going to be disabled by default anyway after backlash and you have to manually enable it. Regardless though, everyone will need a new PC at some point. PCs don't last forever and they will eventually need to be replaced. It has been true since the very beginning of Windows that eventually the hardware you have isn't going to perform anywhere nearly as well as hardware 10 years later. You were never going to run a Windows 1.0 machine on Windows 95. Same goes for today, you will never run a Windows 8 machine on Windows 11 (You technically can, but why would you want to?) And price hikes are common when demand for things are high. Right now currently, the price hikes are due to high demand on PC parts due to higher than usual demand for servers. Once demand falls, things become cheaper. It isn't going to stay like this forever.

That's a good question, lol. I guess Microsoft probably changed up the basic driver that comes preinstalled.
