- This is build 8102.0 in VMware Workstation. This must be run in compatibility mode with Workstation version 9 or else you may run into a CPU error. I also added a .0 to the title to differentiate between this and another build because there is another build titled "8102.101".

Honestly I wouldn’t be disappointed if this was the final version of 8.
Yeah, me too. It would be a nice compromise between Aero and Metro too, plus Aero at that time worked even on the cheapest low end GPU of that time, the GT 610.
Yeah, why didnt they make this the final build of windows 8 instead of continuing the development just to remove aero and the start button?
Its always a awesome day when billy uploads :D
Wow this looks cool, cant believe how much windows has evolved... I feel old...
I also love the PROXEMETEEEEH
I was hoping it would be in this build and I tried searching for it at the end and it didn't make it into Windows 8 yet at the time.
@@Sonicrush007 Windows 8 Build 8128
Interesting, it had alarm notification sounds but using windows 7 sounds.
I wish they had kept the transparent appearance of the windows like this (i.e. with square corners). Also, why would they get away with Start button in the final release of 8? It seems off in 8102, but still.
They got rid of the start button because they used data collected from Windows 7, which showed that most people weren't using the start button. Most people were launching applications off of their desktop or on the taskbar.
@@Sonicrush007 That's ridiculous. I don't think most of the people would normally use an other way than Start Menu to shut down. Also, they hindered looking for more programs that way.
Why did it default to bad 800 x 600 resolution
It's likely due to it being a virtual machine. It isn't able to pick up on the specifications of the "monitor" or the VM's window size or the host's monitor size so it defaults to whatever is lowest just to be safe.
cool
But VMware Pro 17 with VMware Ver 8.x this worked?
It sure can. Despite what I said in the description, BetaWiki.net actually recommends backwards compatibility with 8.x vs 9.x. I was using someone else's recommendation, but yes 8.x works and should work.
Dang it’s sad that it is how it is today
How can shutdown sound dosen't play because of bug?
Did Microsoft have relationship with Robert Fripp?
Why is the screen resolution so low at the start of the installation?
No idea. That's the default resolution Microsoft uses during installation and when no video drivers are available.
@@Sonicrush007 I always saw 1024x768 resolution when installing. This is definitely 800x600.
@@Maciek2846 Yeah, you're right it is 800x600. When you say you saw 1024x768, do you mean when installing builds in general or does that include this build? Perhaps it could be a bug with this build? I have no idea.
@@Sonicrush007 I meant installing builds in general. The only instance when I saw 800x600 while installing was in QEMU (with BIOS instead of UEFI because UEFI has 1024x768 resolution while installing (at least on Windows 7))
Windows 8 would have been better if they kept it like this without the start screen.
Can use it in the present day
You're not wrong because the timebomb is broken, but despite that it still makes it impossible to set wallpapers after the broken timebomb. So since that's broken I do it anyway to ensure other things aren't potentially broken too.
