I can see this working if i were to smile more and practice hand gesture more with people i know, but what about people that already know me they already have a perceived idea about me if i start using hand gestures when i never really have they'll notice immediately and ask what the hell im doing.

    1) Focus on non-verbal presentation instead of worrying what you should say
    2) First impressions (7 seconds)
    3) More hand gestures : To show intention and emphasis explanation
    4) Vocal charisma/ variety : say it like you mean it, positive energy
    5) Genuine Smile

in reality these statistics are not congruent to how your upbringings are and character. charisma comes from the energy and vibe you portray that's eternal from the chore emotions you feel while expressing yourself. mimicry is what human thrive on naturally and when you try to do something that's no in aline to your perception then it will not come off as charismatic.

Hey Venessa, my question is; How the participants who watched it on mute gave credit to intelligence without hearing the ideas and thoughts? Can only smile tell about how intelligence the person is? Thank you

I use hand gestures. Probably a habit picked up when I lived with an Italian family for two years as a teenager. One thing that happens a lot though, is that I smash a lot of wine glasses! I drink wine out of stemless glasses whenever possible.

+Justin Bosley Actually, the most-important part of you did. Depending on who you listen to, the brain can process between 2,000,00,000 and 4,000,000,000 bits of information a second but only 2,000 or so make it into conscious awareness. The remainder are either filtered out or go directly into the subconscious and since hands can convey threat you can be certain that your brain is aware of them even if you did not consciously ATTEND to them.

Her hand gestures seem so meticulously curated it's almost parodying sign language translators... Don't get me wrong I like hand gestures and I personally had been accused of using too much, but hers are a bit unnatural...

She's Puerto Rican, she can't stop, it's innate....... No seriously I don't think I'll ever understand people, unless she offers 1 on 1 help. No therapy has helped. She should teach counsellors and therapists etc.

I feel like this woman came out of left field. I watched her video with Ryan Holiday this morning regarding warmth and competence, and I've been devouring her content since then.
Just bought her book Captivate on audible. Also she's so beautiful.

Sometimes the focus is so much on the likeability that the goal isn't to deliver knowledge to your audience, but rather to try and see if you come out the other side being the 'most liked'. I find that bad because when one is doing highly technical topics in a presentation or a talk, charisma shouldn't distract from the idea of getting contents into peoples head.
