I guess this video is for me :)
When I just started learning AE I accidentally find out that there is such a branch as character animation. I first tried to repeat the lesson on scripts that allow you to create a character rig in AE and after 3 days I found a client on RUclips to whom I still make videos. I've been creating several series of videos on RUclips for different people for about a year and I did everything in After Effects. And I only recently discovered that there are such programs as Moho, ToonBoom and so on.
And as a person who has a good experience in creating animations in AE, I can say that Moho looks amazing. Of course AE with its built-in functions and third-party scripts can do almost everything I saw in Moho. But Moho impressed me a lot with its performance.
If you've never worked in AE, I just want to explain that it's extremely slow. AE doesn't handle vector layers very well. If you have just 5 vector layers in your composition, then even a simple movement of any layer will lag a little (but noticeable to the eye), I'm not even saying if the layers will be 30+ in one composition. And the second problem is Expressions in AE, any expression will be calculated every frame, for example, even if the expression defines the angle of any layer as 30 ° throughout the video, still AE will every time calculate this expression in each frame, from which AE begins to slow down even more. And all character animation is impossible without Expressions. This makes it hard to make video in AE, because it's hard to control the process when you can't see the result in real time.
At the same time Moho works perfectly, without any lags during the time when I was looking at the pre-installed Moho projects. Trust me, if I had to animate the same character as in Mojo but in AE, each frame would be calculated exactly more than 1.5-2 seconds, while Moho all plays in real time.
Besides, Moho is much better to work with the deformation of layers. Also there are many cool features that I would like to see in AE. For example, the ability to remove the contour between two points of one shape, or change the thickness of the contour in different places.
In general, I'm thinking about switching to Moho, so that I was just more comfortable and faster to work. But now it's not so easy because I am very used to AE, and even despite all its disadvantages I perfectly navigate in AE, know the full functionality of the program, some features and tricks, a lot of scripts and plug-ins, there are also some things that are better done in AE. And the most important thing is that I understand how to use AE to organize the entire process of production of one video from scratch to the final.
But I will still continue to study Moho and I hope that I will switch to it, no matter how much I'm not used to AE :)

As I hate subscriptions Adobe software isn't interesting for me anymore. And I think, that in the specialized niche of 2D animation, Moho is much more solid product. You can do the full pipeline process in Moho, from the beginning till the end. And if you know this software well, the results will be stunning!

How about after effects and or premier vs davinci resolve. To be honest this is more of an animation channel but idk….. I try to see comparisons but there’s either very little or no info on these two compared.

    Not really a valid comparison.
no one who was interested creating a true cartoon animation series
would choose after Effects over MOHO or even Adobe’s own Character animator or Reallusion Cartoon animator or Toon Boom harmony.
Sure ,the Archer “2D” TV series ,on amazon, was After effects but that was an outlier
A more valid comparison would to compare After Effects to Davinci Fusion or the Foundry’s Nuke.

Is After Effects intended for the animation industry?
      Yes.
Does After Effects have the rigging feature?
      Yes.
Does After Effects have effects that help in the animation industry?
      Yes.
A primitive and stupid question at the same time: Does After Effects have a timeline?
      Yes, of course.
After Effects is intended for the animation industry and we can compare it to animation software, especially software that relies on rigging .
Anyway, thanks for your valuable comment.

@@InspirationTuts2D I can understand his comment, but I can also understand why you compared the programmes. I don't think After Effects is primarily designed for this, even though it has the functions. I think a fair comparison from Adobe would be the combination of Animate, After Effects and Characater Animator.

I know its not included in the video, but what about Clip Studio Paint? As that program can do animations as well.

Clip doesn't have a rigging system. It is strictly frame by frame
