They act and sound so real because, of everyone, I think their relationship IRL developed much stronger, I guess? Clancy had other responsibilities he'd agreed to when Detroit asked him to return for shooting, so they did EVERY scene involving Hank first, right off the bat, bam-bam-bam-bam, just like that, so that Clancy could still uphold his other responsibilities. Clancy and Bryan also improvised at times - according to Bryan, the rooftop chase scene where Clancy ends up slapping Conner for not saving him, was improvised. The slap was never in the script and Clancy just gave Bryan a wink before doing it; honestly, I'm surprised Bryan was able to react so smoothly to something he was only given warning for 0.5 seconds beforehand. The crew members thought Clancy had ACTUALLY slapped him, and were all like "Bryan, are you okay?!" when they finished acting out the rest of the scene. In turn, Bryan said he "had to get Clancy back" for slapping him. So at Hank's house, to wake him up, he does that light smacking and then BAM - slap to the face. If you pay close attention, you can see Conner smiling, then not smiling, then smiling again, repeatedly as he's taking Hank into the bathroom - which I doubt was intentional but Bryan was probably trying not to laugh given Clancy's amazing performance in that particular scene (on top of getting to slap him).
Its probably because they have more room to grow than the other characters and they have a buddy dynamic. While Markus and Kara do meet others during their endavours, they are more on their own from a game and acting perspective.

This game really did a good job of making the characters they wanted you to like likeable, and those they didn't want you to like unlikeable. Seeing the universal reaction to Connor and Hank is really wholesome.

I love how Jack repeatedly picked the cold choices that disrespect Hank and then got upset at the fact that Hank wasn't liking him lol
to be fair, a lot of the choices were kind of vague. i dont think he really understood what he was picking most of the time.
To be fair to Jack a lot of the time he either misinterpreted what different prompts meant or the prompts themselves were vague so nothing seemed good.
