Interesting video. By the time those bearings go bad, I just replace the brush roll & belt and it works like new again. I also blow the motor out with the air compressor
This video helped me. Watched 3 videos so far and this is the first one teaching about the bearings. I’ve never had issues with sweepers past the point of cleaning out clogs or changing belts. It’s hard to push after cleaning and new belt so probably bearings next thing to look at.
@@crashman1963 yeah that was definitely my issue, they were almost too stiff to turn by hand so cleared out as much debris as possible and oiled them up, turned them by hand for 5-10 minutes to loosen them up, they were a 1-10 to start and now maybe a 6 or 7-10 acceptable at the moment. Will decide on replacing the whole thing depending how often I have to do that maintenance on it. Thanks again. Sorry so many people seem like they don’t appreciate this video, I do 👍
2 things. 1. That brushroll needs to be replaced altogether. The brush is all but gone. 2. I would bet my paycheck that if you look at the fan, it's probably eroded down into next to nothing.. I can tell that from the sludge built up. The wreaks havoc on the fan. How do I know? Been an Oreck Store manager and technician for 11 years.
Valid video - sure wish I could hear you better...and that you would have included how you used the channel locks, if / how you cleaned the bearings or if u replaced the whole brush unit. How ‘bout a redo?
crashman1963 I hav had it where the brush roll was fine but the two wheels at the front Had worn out the shafts which made it had to push on the carpet
that was originally why i opened it up, had bunch of hair and crap wound all in there, cleaned it up and was lots easier, then went out got a brush , all was good
