In the first comparison with the turbo heads, the Miele never went completely over the white rice, like the SEBO did. The Miele was stopped before being pushed over the top of the white grains.

😄 I recently purchased a Sebo Airbelt K3. I researched Miele and Sebo and read tons of reviews. I liked the much better warranty, the low profile, the ease of removing the roller, the hospital grade filtration, etc. on the Sebo. Miele's warranty was pathetic compared to Sebo. It was a huge investment for me, but other brands I may have purchased in decades gone by are pure junk these days, and I figured that given my age, if I invest in a Sebo now, it will likely last me for the rest of my life.

@@laurenlee8849 I absolutely love my Sebo. Sometimes I have had to make a high dollar purchase and found out later I made a bad decision. Such was the case upon replacing my mattress set a few years ago---tip: FORGET any mattress with memory foam, even expensive mattresses---within a year, you will be sleeping in a hole. Anyway, I made the right decision with my Sebo. I do not regret my decision at all. SO GLAD, I went into the store and tested both the Miele and the Sebo and spoke to the people who deal with them everyday. I came so close to buying a Miele. Really dodged a bullet there..... Good luck to you!

Great video, you have a lot of good videos on your channel. I'm a vacuum collector and both brands are represented in my collection. I have all hard floors so I only use a power nozzle to clean the area rug outside my apartment door and I do have several power nozzles in my collection. I have the Miele C1 Olympus, I think that one is just called the straight suction now, I also have the Sebo D1 which is the straight suction version of the full size canister and I have a Sebo Felix. I much prefer canister, backpack or central vacuums but I do absolutely love the Felix because you can remove the power head and attach a hard floor nozzle. I think Miele and Sebo are excellent vacuums, probably the two best brands available right now, but, when I am asked for a recommendation, I find myself recommending Sebo over Miele for a few reasons. First, Miele has started making a lot of their vacuums in China instead of Germany, I'm not sure if this has compromised quality but it's a bit of a concern. You cannot easily remove the brush on the Miele power nozzles which are actually rebranded Wessel-Werk nozzles. Finally, the parts for Miele vacuums are much more expensive than the parts for Sebo vacuums.

    This was hilarious.
In spite of the fact that I am obsessed with my Sebo, I am trying to be fair:
That Miele agitation, *from inches away*, was epic. It covered a lot of real estate but was definitely most insane in the middle. Sebo was edge to edge but only from very close and was certainly not as violent. This makes me wonder if it has superior airflow or just that the Miele brush bristle is very harsh...which would mean shearing and sucking up more carpet fiber, right? I know that people complain that they don't get the same sharp carpet lines with a Sebo, implying that this means that the carpet is not as well groomed. I'd love to see some content addressing this!
The Sebo wins in every other category, though.
Since mold is an increasingly acknowledged epidemic in Colorado: Regarding HEPA filtration - I opted to get Sebo's K3 because that model does offer HEPA filtration. For someone with mycotoxicosis, fractions of a micron more filtration can matter. So, I traded the larger bag and stacked velocity tubing from the next model up for HEPA.

The Sebo's ET-1 bristles are longer than the Miele's 236's. Also, 236's belt drive creates a dead zone along brush path - ET1's belt drive is outside brush path.

What Miele doesn’t tell you, is that if you open the C3’s bag compartment to check the fullness of the bag, the bag actually slides out of alignment with the hose port. If you do not re-insert the bag in the blue collar, the bag compartment fills with dirt the next time you use the vacuum. There is no safety mechanism to prevent the motor from turning on if the bag is not seated properly.

@@panasonicvac4036 Yes, but Miele does not tell you that. It is a counterproductive new feature that is not necessary. Many people do not trust Bag Check indicators to tell them if a bag needs changing. You should be able to open the cover and feel the bag and close the cover again without causing dirt to flood the bag chamber when you start vacuuming. I have an old S8 and I have no problem removing the bag without this destructive new sliding feature. All Miele has to do is put a big warning sign on the inside of the cover that explains what to do to prevent flooding the compartment with dirt.

I have both machines, and both demonstrate excellent performance. I admit that I ONCE made this mistake with the bag door and a new bag - and I learned my lesson. My issue with Miele is that it should be more fool-proof. I can’t expect my 6 year old son to remember to re-seat the bag in the dock when he is playing with the vacuum. Consequently, I must check the bag dock every time that I use this vacuum, which is silly for a $1100 machine.

DO NOT take the hose itself apart on Sebo or Miele. The hose will absolutely come apart. It will however never go back together again. Vacuum stores have powerful central vacuums as well as special tools to remove objects from hoses. If you are unable to get it out at home I would suggest bringing it to a dealer. I also caution against using a clothes hanger. More often than not using a coat hanger punctures the side of the hose or damages the integrated wires in the hose.

But as a whole 2 years is what we are seeing in general (see our video "why can't I fix my Shark vacuum?"). Oreck was a great product produced in New Orleans and the after Katrina in Kentucky. Around 2015ish they were purchased by a massive conglomerate out of Hong Kong. We saw a marked increase in the frequency of repairs with the units being produced after the acquisition. This was coupled with unavailability of repair components. We found that the lower quality of the machine coupled with the inability to repair them when they did fail was not consistent with our standards and chose to severely limit our offering of the product line. We find that both Riccar and Sebo remain dedicated to high performance machines with life spans in the decades and lean heavily in to those brands.
