This is one of Meshuggah's most interesting tracks in terms of drums, there is so much going on here. I struggle to understand how a human can come up with this let alone perfectly perform it.
Those ghost notes
It sounds like jazz.
Adrian Schoch FOR REAL! Exactly what I say, but like jazz influenced metal ofc
It sounds like violent METAL JAZZ
Ya like jazz
Its Djazz
bc it is
I am now 21, not sure what to do with my time and my life. I have problems with drugs, I can´t stay sober for longer time. What I want to say.. Life is freaking strange and in this hatefull world, at least to me, it can be hard to find his place. So I was wondering about my future, who I want to be and who not.. Instead of wasting my time, I will be an amazing drumer.
I want to practise and give my passion and heart into it.
Meshuggah is seriously unique, each song is like.. a master piece to me..! To my goals I put Meshuggah.. One day, I will play these songs man, same as you. Thank you for that track, I´ll shred the guitar to it now \m/
Peace
Awesome attitude, yo! Any way we can track your progress? I am sure I am not the only one here who want's to encourage you!
HMU, I just bought their signature guitar, we could collab. So far I play note for note "Ivory Tower" "Behind The Sun" "By The Ton" and "Demiurge" If you want help learning any of those, send me a message on here or @ bobjangus55@gmail.com. Check out my cover of Ivory Tower, it got me into Berklee.
Sending you good vibes, I struggled with drugs too and sobriety sure ain't an easy road, but music is a very good catharsis.
I already play alot of meshuggah songs on drums, and without Jesus id still be suicidal, peace dude.
Lloyd Rees i rather be suicidal then be stupid enough to believe in Jesus haha
Incredible what a clear mind can do
Exactly!
shaved all my hair off. Shining head now. Microphone!!!! you ready!?!?!?!
REALITY
@@skippityblippity8656 REEEE AL I TAYYY
I DO NOT NEEEEED (He does not need)
A RIDE CYMBAAAAL (a ride cymbal !)
MY CRASHES ARE FUCKING (fucking)
POWERFUUUUUUUUUL
He actually uses rides for crash cymbals
To me, listening to this, it feels like getting told a constant joke. Kinda.. Out of a scientific point of view for a human being, a good funny joke prospers from something unexpected, and its the same for me here; because of the polyrhythmic nature, they trigger somewhat the same emotion I experience when I got told a joke or watch something funny. On top of that, I feel the beauty and this also makes my eyes wet from tears of joy. Music is so fascinating!
I feel the same way tho. so hard to understand but funny and enjoyable

4:15 DAMNNNN
Honestly, these drums are enough to comprise the entire song. I'm astounded.
This is absolutely insane
This is my favorite singular track from Meshuggah, it is perfect - the only thing that I think tops Clockworks is Catch 33 in totality with Dehumanization being the craziest drop in metal
History and Clockworks having my second favorite - I can’t say enough about how good this band is
Tomas is a brilliant drummer! I've enjoyed and admired his work since my friend blasted HUMILIATIVE for me back in 1996! I became a life-long fan that day.
thomas haake is freaking possessed by some demon drummer of hell!!
an alien from another galaxy
This just proves my point that tomas haake is the best drummer on earth
Starframe Apocalypse no more like a robot
Even in comparison to Gojira’s drummer???
@@carlanaronson8391 Duplantier is elite, but I'd say Haake has a higher ability level. Duplantier hasn't been at this level in years.
We're just gonna act like Gene Hoglan doesn't exist?
@@chrish1297 he's a prophet, haake is something like a godlike entity
Any chance you could recreate anything from Gojira? Liquid Fire or The Cell perhaps? These are fantastic quality!
Thanks for the kind words! We will be working on a bunch of Gojira within the next few weeks, keep an eye on the channel.
Just found this channel. Meshuggah drum tracks are apparently great background noise for coding lmao
"Meshuggahs just 4/4 man, its just that the guitars dont respect time signatures" yeah right...
They do just play in 4/4 though. Try counting 1...2...3...4... throughout the song and it will line up whenever they play a different part.
@@Markyman29 I'm aware, but that alone doesn't constitute time signature. For example, if you make a song from 13/8 chorus and 19/8 verse, and they both last the same time in same tempo, you can count 1.. 2.. 3.. 4 and count from start to finish and it will add up. Meshuggah do something similar, where the beat eventually does add up to 4/4 counting, but after various different time signature riffs and sometimes even entire segments (take Do Not Look Down, or Lethargica or Glints Collide intros for example)
@@DevotionToChaos I
@@DevotionToChaos Meshuggah literally says in interviews that they count it all in 4. They might throw something in that’s outside of 4 but it always lines back up in the end
Yeah, he almost always plays a steady quarter note somewhere in the mix. They use the 4/4 base to build polyrhythms around.
Amazing channel ! Please keep doing that ! I request more thrash :P like anything Testament, Megadeth, Havok, some Death tracks would be nice as well :)
Keep up the good work
It would be awesome if you did pisces by Jinjer. The live version though haha. BTW awesome drum track
+AllHailThe9 We will add your request to our list, thanks alot for the support!
Man I discovered your channel few weeks back and been using it to play on top, it's perfect ;) Thanks for all the Meshuggah tracks
If you're still taking requests, I'd enjoy some tracks from the "Witness" album from the band VOLA, like "Straight Lines" or "These Black Claws", they have some nice prog vibes and polyrythms as well! Cheers
just earned a new sub from Brazil, fucking nice tracks!
+Mark La Thanks a lot! We really do appreciate the support :)
Eargasm on big subwoofer and speakers , thank you
...insane...
Was it an arrangement? The rhythms are right, but the accents in most of the places are changed and completely off putting. Was it intentional to change stuff from the original or was it just too hard to follow? Not hating, just asking :)
Hey. Thank you for the comment! As far as we're aware, we wrote them out to as close as we can. Obviously, it's not going to be perfect every single time. We just try get them as close as possible so people can jam along freely! as we're not 100% familiar with every request, we listen and try to replicate it.
Sorry they aren't absolutely perfect, but they're close enough! Either way, we hope you enjoy our channel!
Ahh that's fine, the rhythms and changes are perfect tho :) I do enjoy it and definitely going to jam to it!
Sweet! Thank you for checking it out as well! Happy jamming!
Guys, this is great! Subscribed. Could you please do "The Essential Salts" by Nile?
+Абулхаир Ерлан Thanks for subscribing! We will work on the track within the next couple of weeks.
Simply Backing Tracks awesome! Eager to hear!
Fantastic!
Thanks! Shed will be uploaded soon.
Thanks man. Hope this channel grows.
Simply Backing Tracks Holy shit man.
Great work keeping up on requests.
Great way to get a good base, for sure!!
WebsterA Thanks alot! We try our hardest to get every request done, some take longer than other due to complicity, but will make sure to get them as close as possible.
3:32 o man that ghost notes
Excellent. Please do Sepultura Isolation.
I love this channel!!
Perpetual Black Second next! Perpetual Black Second next! Perpetual Black Second next! Perpetual Black Second next! Perpetual Black Second next! Perpetual Black Second next!
God damn!
This is great.
Liked and suscribed :V
Thanks for the kind words and support!

Can you make Nostrum
Thanks for the kind words! We will work on your request within the next couple of weeks.
Could you do This spiteful snake?
Thanks for the request! We will work on the track within the next couple of weeks.
Request for something a lot more simple but extremely heavy GODFLESH-SHUT ME DOWN . 🤘🏴

Excellent! Straws Pulled at Random?

So off beat but on beat. Wow. What sick timing
Not my fav song by them, but the drumming is insane.
The opening riff is wrong. Check the source - ruclips.net/video/axGn6qeJHcM/видео.html
If someone has already mentioned this, my apologies. You do it right towards the middle tho...
Yes the two opening riff, first on the crash and after on the bass Tom is not correct.
these are great thanks
I thought he played doubles in the kick in the intro
It's not double Bass but two huge drums on the right side of the drum kit as Haake works the Hi hat and one Bass with his feet during the intro.
What you mean is clearly missing here.
Can you do the song Tacit by Ihsahn? The drum work from that track is amazing!
Hi would I be able to use this in a guitar cover? I'll give credit of course!
Of course!
@@SimplyBackingTracks I can't download it, is there a chance you could send it to me or put it in a google drive folder or something? Sorry for the inconvenience, it's for a university assessment.

Could you do Darkness Surrounding by Avenged Sevenfold?
100% Keep an eye on the channel within the next couple of days!
1:03 !!!
Its not completely correct. But, its very good. Thank you.
My head when my girlfriend talks to me
The Dillinger Escape Plan drum tracks please! Any era/album/song idc. Thanks! Great track/reproduction
Too bad this track improvised over the really interesting part, the second part of the intro when he moves to the floor tom. It's the trickiest groove in the song.. still pretty cool though.
Could you guys do Seether - Fine Again?
+Luke Phillips Thanks for the request! We will add it to the list.
Can someone tell me how to pronounce Hakke?
No
From what I've seen, most people in interviews and videos say it like "hawk-uh" without as much pronunciation on the "-uh." But I've also heard "hawk-eh." To be honest I'd say either works depending on where you're from. He kinda has the Neil Peart treatment people just say his name how they think it is. I've heard multiple people say "P-ear-t" or "Per-t" a million times.
What's the BPM actually?
130bpm
Dillinger please
;~)
Maybe the title of the video will be more precise because isn`t the original drums of master Haake, so, maybe for the next put the right title. In the very begining is evident there is no Haake playing, but anyway... thanks for the effort
just watching his playthrough, i see that you missed about half of the hits and ghost notes he plays
I'm happy to re do videos if I get enough requests, I feel like I am a better tabber now than back then and have a different, more accurate method of tabbing, thanks for the feedback!
@@SimplyBackingTracks Still, these are so fun and you reinvigorated me to spend more time on my programming. I'm 28 and began at 8 years old, 4 years before picking up guitar even! Thanks! :)
@@SimplyBackingTracksplease re-do this one. Its nice to hear Haake's isolated drums.
Sounds good, but the translation is not correct, sorry to say :/
There are many mistakes on older videos as I had a different method of tabbing, I am looking to set some time aside soon to re do a lot of my older videos, with added visuals, thanks for the feedback!
Obviously trying to sound like Coldplay. Why can't drummers be original these days
Its wrong : /
Alot of my older videos are, due to an older method of tabbing I no longer use, thanks for the feedback!
They are wrong
