Well, looks like the kids are gonna have to go without shoes this summer. I gotta have this!
LARRY eh it's summer they don't need shows anyway
Ha ha ha ha ha looks like Ramin Noddles and condiment Sandwiches for me lol
ROFL!!!!
These guys are on an insane roll. All the keyboard/synth pedals. The fuzz, delay and reverb pedals. And they're not charging boutique prices. I gotta get this and the oceans pedal.
Probably the best demo I've heard of this pedal. Almost makes me wants it.
Panhandle Gear Demos mel 9 is way more fun
Christian Castellanos I literally just picked up the Mel9 off one of my friends for $80. It’s god damn incredible.
damn, 80 is a steal! Just traded my EQD Gray Channel for a Mel9, and I thought I got a good deal.
@@iann8733 80? Niceee. I've got one for 200, but it's worth every cent
i basically want to buy this to run it through a fuzz.
EHX needs to stop making so many cool pedals, my wallet can only handle so much
TheOkayestGamer both ehx and earthquaker devices
@@bestboy897 bass 9 :)
I hear you on that!, i'm building an "Elevated pedal shelf " & synthesizer,.. Its adding up quickly!
When are they coming out with a keyboard pedal that sounds like a guitar?
Best demo of this pedal so far. Better then the EHX one.
No way. This guy never played a sinth in your life.
This pedals makes me wanna make psychedelic rock
This pedal is actually pretty fricken awesome!! You can probably do a lot of Yes stuff with this pedal
Jim tried his best to do the Lucky Man synth part at 1:49. Not Yes, of course, but close enough.
@@Reverb I recognized that's what it was supposed to be! So that's something!
coolest pedal ive seen.
That pedal is awesome 😎🤘🏻🎸 I would like to add this to my synth pedalboard
I watched this a year ago and though ok I WANT IT! But then like ok it might be a gear acquisition syndrome. One year later (c) I watch it again and I WANT IT!
Sorta sounds like a bunch of fuzz pedals stacked together
Great demo Jim!! 👌💋💋💋
muy buen video amigo saludos desde tijuana
great demo....im sold
Dankest pedal I've seen in a while
julian casablancas eat your heart out.
Right! Voidz
I need a list of i0s music people have tried to play with this so I can have a starting point! Can't wait for mine to arrive.
Shoot! That was 80's
I have the SYNTH 9 pedal and all I really want to is to dial in the ELP ‘Lucky Man’ Mini moog sound, but have never been able to really dial it in.
I have tried it in the front of my pedal chain [into a 5150 head/cab] at the end of the pedal chain and direct with no other pedals - GTR--> SYNTH 9--> AMP
Any thoughts or setting to share?
it does not sound amazing with a guitar amp
how does it sound on bass?
It sounds pretty cool. You have to ride the octave knob pretty much all the way to the right for the most part since it's built to track guitar and adjust the pitch down to sub-octaves. Still, some very usable tones for bass. Maybe we'll rip another video...
Right on, that would be very cool.
Bassic Gear Review does a solid demo of it.
Can you play chords using the solo synth patch?
All i hear is, the future. And technology. And its mind bottling. I want 3.
Just so y'all know for the price of this pedal you could get a great analog monosynth used (Novation Bass Station ii). If you really want synth sounds I would just go that route
I'd assume those looking at this option are guitarists who don't know how to play keys. Why learn a new instrument if this will fit their needs?
I have a basstation 2 and still want this running through a fuzz with wah pedal OR something with my Gibson marauder or Fender Stratocaster....
OH SHIT I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW
ok, i need this
"OBX" = Oberheim OB-X; "Profit 5" = Prophet-5 ; "Mini Mood" = Mini Moog. What are the rest?
go and see the pdf
The minimoog of course
@@ΑνναΣτασινού I'm not sure who you were replying to -- if it's me, your reply didn't make any sense given what I wrote.
Poly is the Korg Poly VI
Mood Bass is a Moog Taurus
Strings is an ARP Solina String Ensemble.
MiniMoog
OBx-1
Prophet V
Not sure about solo synth and I think the EHX one is just a EHX patch.
Does anybody know how does this pedal track guitars tuned in A flat?
Hi. Can this pedal get a similar synth sound of the roland JV 1080 to get a similar synth sound of the 7th son álbum of iron maiden? Thanks a lot...
Can you play bass through it?
Awesome!
was that "Willie the Pimp"?
Kind of a mash between Willie and Dragonaut. ;)
Anyone know if I can run guitar through the fl studio sounds
do you plug this thing infront of your amp or in the FX loop?
i think a guitar amp is not the best thing for that
02:04 sounds like a bagpipe.
Ya es hora que diseñe pedales multiefectos.
Attack on Titan fans: Who else heard YOUSEEBIGGIRL at 1:39? Buying this pedal just to do that.
Please someone buy my kidney,i want this pedal on my pedalboard right now lol
i want to be Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre with my Ibanez oh yes
Who is the owner of this guitar?
I saw her in a video a long time ago, where it was sold quickly even though the video was actually about a pedal.
If it is ever sold, please let me know !!! : D
that sounds like the Backrooms I'm not even gonna lie to you
Does it work with Bass guitars too?
It does. You have to ride the octave knob pretty much all the way to the right for the most part since it's built to track guitar and adjust the pitch down to sub-octaves. Still, some very usable tones for bass. Maybe we'll rip another video...
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would really appreciate hearing and seeing some Bass functionality. :) Thank you for the response!
Fucking rad
now Electro-Harmonix join Vox and give us a NEW VOX Phantom V251
show !!!!
i have it and maybe not so fantastic
i prefer the midi synth
i am thinking of selling mine and buying the new Boss Synthesizer pedal!
That one has so much many features... right
I just got the boss sy-1 brand new for 184 bucks flat at guitar center go take advantage of there 15% off for Presidents’ Day weekend tomorrows the last day
What the heck guitar is that?
looks like a custom, super, turbo moded jazzmaster hehe
It's a Partsmaster that a Reverber picked up from a Reverb seller. It plays great!
And I assume they picked it up just for demoing pedals
It looks like a G&L Doheny
Well, I definitely don't need one of these.
I want a guitar synth but don't want to sound like the frikken 1980's.
I just can't get down with these. I had the boss sy1 and sent it back, I played with this one a bit. I just cant get into the sounds or the feel of them, also no foot control you have to change everything by hand which is tough in a live situation. Although I'd prefer to be in charge of both guitar and synth so we wouldn't have to rely on another person, it doesn't seem do able without major set backs. I bought a novation mini nova and using that for now, until I find an actual synth player. The mini nova costs the same as this pedal and there is no comparison considering it's an actual synth.
I thought the mini nova was $300, this pedal is $215. Also, I feel with an expression pedal you can probably use that control. It has an input for it so I would think that would unlock the potential for this pedal to be used in a live setting
So.... synth9 or mono synth?
I am looking at both myself. If it helps..Main differences are: The 9 is Polyphonic, the Mono is, well..Mono!
So you lose ability to play full chords with the Mono but..
The Mono does allow you to save presets though. I'm torn at the moment.
@@DimageMedia I just got the mono synth in. Gonna see how it does when I get off work.
@@rfelton77 Cool. If you don't mind, give me the 411 on it after you check it out.
god the boss SY-1 has nothing on this
I don't get it. Guitar players are always putting down synth players for not playing "real music"... Now this... Such a gimmick. If you want to play DragonForce licks on this, try at your own risk because EHX pedals that make a thing sound like another thing have notoriously poor tracking. With all the accessible choices available these days from brilliant synth makers, why would you get this silly pedal?
Cirque Du Opinion I think guitarists can absolutely get a lot out of synth pedals. Especially the ones who don’t want to actually take the time to focus on learning another instrument. Or who want to add an under-layer of synth to fill out a small band. That said, I think most of the ones who knock synth players, aren’t the ones wanting this pedal. I used to be someone who kinda ragged on synth players, until I cut some recordings using a Juno-6. Completely opened my mind up along with artists like Tame Impala, Vinyl Williams, POND, MAC DeMarco and others coming to the forefront by using them in psych music. These can be useful in creating demo of loop ideas before fleshing out a song to see where the live synth would take up space. But I’m with you on this. Nothing beats an actual synth.
Actually, that's not true. Every pedal in this line of ehx pedals has proven to track quite phenomenally. There are even a few videos of Tom Quayle demoing this line of pedals using a wide variety of techniques. Tracks bends, legato, shredding, and whammy bar work. The only hiccups in tracking occur because of hiccups in the user's technique
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱!
Ehx make a whole load of shit these days but that is so awesome.
Great tracker, awful sounds. Wish they made a midi-out only version of this.
Sounds like a cheap 80's Casio.
80s pophit simulator
Amazing! Makes any good guitarist sound terrible!
Do you think distortion pedal makes classical players sound bad?
Way too 80s
I hate how all of their pedals look, they never look cool
Because they don't have a big breasted medusa with glow in the dark snakes? Or something equally as tacky? I mean c'mon! Nobody looks at your sound, they just hear it.
I think they have some of nicest designs
What are they supposed to look like? They have some classic looking designs.
I agree. Those white knobs are ESPECIALLY hideous. Another culprit of their awful graphic design is that Corset compressor and that one overdrive with crayons. People scoff at the notion of dismissing pedals for their looks... But why not? There are SO MANY pedals out there that one can afford to look for a stomp box that will inspire you to use it. There is nothing like looking at a great sounding pedal board that visually pleases the player. This pedal pisses me off because it's just gimmicky. And EHX "specialty" pedals are STILL tracking poorly, that Pitchfork one... Gross
Really ?? Wtf it's about the sounds, the inspirations and the possibilities ! That's all that matters. Ya, like someone's coming up to me and says: "oh dude, i love your pedal so much cause it looks so fucking cool. Don't care what it sounds like but it rules, it looks so damn good" ! Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but wtf ? Lol
the sounds are terrible and im not sure they are of any use. the "mood" bass doesnt come close to a synth bass and sounds totally fake..real bad in fact..like a toy. the B9 and C9 are the only ones that sound useful to me. I think it would be better to learn how to play analog mono synths or find a keyboardist to jam with than using this pedal. Its more of a gimmick imho.
Dude it's a fuckin pedal with 9 different sounds in it. What the hell do you expect from it?
Yea the EHX pedal ideas are phenomenal but when it comes to tone they really miss the mark and it sounds dull
EQs, delays and other pedals all exist and can be paired with this ya know? Also you're not taking amp/micing into consideration either.. I think it's so fricken cool.
Does this little sucker work on bass g?
