In 2001 I was a nanny in a exclusive apartment building in Chicago. I was taking my young charge out into the hallway for a walk. With toddler and stroller in tow I began to walk towards the elevator. I looked up and there was Prince dressed all in red with black heels walking towards me. I was about 22 years old and to tell the truth in my mind I had seen Prince walk towards me many times😂. I was like this just cannot be real but come on who else looks like Prince it was clear who he was. I had spent the last two days trying to get out of work because he was playing at the Park West Theater downstairs so naturally I thought I was tripping. He smiled he said hi and bent down to play with my young charge. In my mind I was like it's an imposter but once he spoke I knew it was him. We got in the elevator together and he continued to talk to the child. They passed the ball back and forth and we parted ways. After my heart attack it was all I could do to not let the kid go running out into the street. As soon as we got to the park I had to find a bench so that I can sit down and catch my life. I saw him two more times during his stay. I later found out that because he was playing at the Park West he didn't want to stay at a Hotel so he just rented a condo in the building. The next time that I saw him he was already on the elevator and said "Fancy meeting you here". I told him that his concert was sold out and it didn't matter cuz I couldn't get out of work anyway. He asked me what was my favorite song and I told him I couldn't decide between Doves Cry and Count the Days. He sang snippets of both to me, told me I had great taste nice eyes and a beautiful exotic face. He even touched my hair....

His parents died in 2002 all of his band has seen them (and I personally know 2 of his band members) and his parents are indeed black. His parents are the same exact complexion as my parents and from the same Louisiana background and i'm medium complexion, it's just skin tone, it's not a big deal.
Prince was always given space. People looked but never hassled. He used to run his own errands whenever he was back in MN and knew he would be given the space he needed. That was respect.
Dealing with hip pain for many years but still tore the roof of any venue for 10-100,000 attendees. Nothing mattered but to make a show for us all to remember, brought it every night just to make us happy. Love this man for what he was and what he means to the future of music. There will be a block of instruction about Prince in musical education courses at all levels. Many of us were taught classical and West Side Story (great stuff too) but 50 years from now students will be taught Prince. Miss him every day.
If you notice, Prince smiled at that woman at the ATM machine and she just kept looking at him without too much expression....I think she was so shocked that she was slowly processing who she saw in her brain. THAT would be me, too. All my logic and reasoning just flies off somewhere into space during those type of events. HAHAHA

I would have noticed him I've been a loyal fan for over 30 years played him at my wedding followed his career from 83 to time of death he was my all time fav singer in the universe I've been in love with him scence I was 11 I'm 46 now so believe me when I say I would have noticed him immediately!!!! He has wings now with his Heavenly Father... there is not a day since first hearing soft and wet many years ago that I have not played a Prince song.. I always dreaded his passing, he was like a supernova, burned so bright it was impossible to sustain... he could never sleep and rest that complex musical mind. I hope he has found his rest and reward in the afterlife... he finally made it uptown...

What a beautiful amazing story! I got to see him at the Summit in 1997 for a new year's eve concert in Houston, TX. He turned the place out! Always wanted to see him again because he puts on such a memorable concert! Will always love and miss Prince! RIH 💔❤🕊🙏🏽

Gracie B. Why is this person being "Negative?" 🤔... Chronic painers can spot pain a mile away. It's just the truth. That's nothing he did wrong. My heart just breaks knowing he was in pain and didn't feel he could trust anyone for getting pain management. Our bodies fail us. Chronic pain is no joke and very real. As much as we miss him... I'm glad he is free from his pain. It's no way to live. 😢
@@TheKellma I'm in Florida and doctors here view chronic pain as a complete joke now. They view it like that right up until they experience debilitating pain.

How do you miss someone you never met? Nothing has been taken away from you. You STILL have the all the music. (and all these videos of this person you NEVER MET here on RUclips.) Which is the same thing you had when he was alive: JUST the music. So what is there to miss? In fact, you have MORE of Prince than when he was alive because they are still releasing new music, and will be releasing new music for the rest of your life.
@@Igaveyoumyfakename Actually, I did meet Prince once, so your comment about never having met him is false. I'm not alone when I say that I miss Prince, even though we still have his music. We can no longer see him in concert, doing TV appearances, etc. etc. That is what I miss most about Prince - he is no longer in the physical world.

I can tell that his lower extremities were bothering him by how he’s walking, but even then, he was so beautiful & so cool with his stroll & his smile is full of fun & mischievousness.

The man was and will always be a musical genius, a sexy man, a man that was not shy about sexuality and he dressed his azz off!! Their will NEVA be another Prince Rogers (Prince). His home at Paisley Park is beautiful. It saddens me that he passed and inside of his home.
