When Tyka says, "it wasn't hard at all" to hear he had passed sounds odd to me. Even when you know, if she did, that a loved one is very ill, it is still devastating when they pass. At least that's been my experience.
Keigirl - totally agree, on all fronts. It all doesn't add up, and she said the opposite in the interview with Al Roker only the day before. Makes no sense. Fishy. And I agree with Brenda, even when you know it's coming - death is still incredibly hard, with someone you love. That's just the way it is. It is kind of weird, the only photographic evidence of her and her brother together are black-and-white pictures from their childhood. It doesn't seem like they were close at all as adults and then she swoops in after he passes.

My wife almost died from the same drug only difference was doctors were giving it to her while she was in hospital and they made her od and her body shut down.
She spent 2 weeks in ICU on life support, it was the worst time of my life . But she survived thank God.

"not hard at all" who says this when a family member dies? Even ppl who know a family member has a terminal illness, it is still extremely difficult to accept. My oldest sister was on life support and the doctors said she was brain dead. I simply had to pray and say my goodbyes and walk out. I simply couldn't be there to see the plug pulled.
Prince was a very private person, like every human being he had his own demons to fight. However, there yet remains something extremely suspicious and unanswered in his death. From the beginning there have been conflicting reports as to where the body was found. First it was said in his recording studio and then it was the elevator. Personally I feel the "elevator" version is some actual clue. Exactly what, well I guess that's up to the interpreter!

I was just hurt to see him laying there just dead. Go on line and you will find those leaked police photos of all the evidence and Prince's dead body. I miss him so much. Brooke Sun .... was on my own the day he passed but story did not break till about 6.30pm over here in the U.K. ....was a big Prince fan as a kid but hadn't really listened to him much in almost 30yrs. .... Only had 4 of his albums at the time. Dont know why but out of nowhere on that day I was playing all of his songs and researching all about him on the internet. 6 hours straight I was doing it. Then I was in the kitchen preparing tea when I saw a post from a Prince fan on Facebook saying he was gone! .... I Had to keep my face turned from my family because it was strewn with tears ....Felt like part of my childhood had died. That day he died till this one I have played his music for between 1-4hrs everyday since. Always wondered how strange it was that on that day he went without knowing and from a long absense I was playing his music nonstop for hours and researching him on the net from out of the blue.

Another thing, when Prince died, Tyka "claimed" that Prince had no "Will", yet now she says that she "prepared" herself "2-years" ago. Does something not sound right with her statements? If she was "close" to Prince, wouldn't she know for "certain" IF Prince had a "Will"? Secondly, Prince was a very charitable man and I know he would have set money aside for charities he believed in. Well, I guess we have to wait and see what Tyka and her siblings do with all the money.
ToonieMama I read he was diagnosed with full blown Aids and that's why he knew eventually he was going to die. On his death certificate it said he weighed 112 lbs. that's pretty thin and others said he was up for 6 days straight before he died. I just hope he didn't suffer. I agree with you, Tyka seems pretty superficial, I saw an interview with Misty Copeland shortly after Prince died, and she couldn't hold back her tears. I don't think he was super close to his siblings but once he got ill, I think he wanted to make amends, or at least I hope he did and I hope they don't squander his money. Tyra's too happy in this video, she's loving being filthy rich now, I'd still be in mourning if I was her. I don't care how well prepared you are for someone's death, if you love someone it's still devastating.
L Plante I take anything that Tyka say's with a grain of salt. She claims that they planned for "2-years". Why then did they have to "drill" open the VAULT? Prince did not give her the code or key to the VAULT? Too many conflicting stories & it just doesn't add up. Bremer is probably telling the family to keep quiet. People today don't die from AIDS; there is treatment for the disease. Makes no sense that Prince would stop taking medication for his "disease" (if he had one), yet pop illegal "Fentanyl" pills? Prince wasn't stupid. The most wonderful, brilliant Icon of our time......gone!!
ToonieMama you make some valid points. I didn't know they had to drill open the vault. That speaks volumes. Prince did say in an interview that he did have plans to turn Paisley Park into a museum one day, but I'm sure that he didn't want his sister in charge, that's for sure. I just wish he would have made a will and because he didn't, it makes me suspicious about how he died. It doesn't seem that he was acting like someone who "knew" he was dying. I just still can't accept that he's gone. It's such a huge loss. I am disgusted that she said it wasn't hard at all when she got the call that he had died. That's just not normal. At the end of the day, we've lost an amazing person. I hope he's resting in peace. 🕊
L Plante I agree. I really don't think Tyka knows much of anything about P's estate. To me, the whole interview seemed more like a PR than to discuss Prince's death.
She says: "I had been preparing for 2-years, so I knew it was coming?" What was coming? You knew your brother was going to die? And then to say "It wasn't hard at all -- 2-second phone call; he's gone." I don't know if she was still in shock when she did this interview or what, but that to me, is a very cold response to the sudden loss of your brother. Just saying. And in the end, she is giggling, which is kinda creepy, imo.
I don't know, Tyka didn't sound very sincere when she said she is sorry we (fans/friends) are hurting to give it another year and half to be where she is now with Princes death, wth?! I will never get over his death it has been a huge impact and I am not even related to him nor do I really know him. How could she be over it already?! Kandi Kane I think Prince wasn't very close to his family. I've read that they had an off again on again relationship due to her drug addiction. Plus, I read somewhere that they got close within the last couple of years! When he died, he's older brother Albert said he hasn't seen him in 15 years (this was on a ET interview). When he did the interview with Oprah he said that he wasn't speaking to his father. He got a restraining order against his brother who use to be head security at Paisley Park. His brother also had committed crimes. I read somewhere that he resented his mother because she chose another man over him! So, it could be that what we perceive as coldness is really her not being as close as should've been to him! But I don't know what her grieving process was like! I am not to judge. It seems like his family wasn't really a close family and that could be the reason why Prince didn't mention them in interviews.

I'm still hurting in November 2020 - I adore Prince and I am sure that there won't ever be another like him! He was pretty outside and in his soul to the end, but he was also haunted by depressions - which were the part he helped me deal with the most! He tought me how to forgive, love, dance, have more compassion and love music 💜💜💜💜💜💜❤️ I believed he was terminal ill, but didn't want anyone but Tyka to know. I feel so sad that he died all alone in that elevator, but he believed in afterlife and yearned for it, so I guess he's in a good place now ❤️

Tyka acts completely different during this interview, compared to the one with the Today Show. Her comments are quite confusing. I don't know if things were "left out" (edited) or what, but it's just not making sense. First she said "I took it the hardest, because I was closet to Prince." Then here, she is saying "It wasn't hard at all, because I was preparing for 2-years." WHAT exactly was she preparing for? Is it because she knew his chronic pain was taking a toll on his health and his use of pain pills would eventually "end" his life? Or, did he have a terminal illness? WHAT was it, Tyka? You can't have it BOTH ways! The things she is saying is just stirring-up more controversy and we are all grieving his sudden death, and this is only making matters worse! I would rather Tyka and her family & friends not say anything at all, then to give us "half-truths". Prince had way too much going for him to just want to "end it all".

I agree but I think that it was a good idea they kept it as a museum. Being that there were several heir's to his estate, it could have been sold and demolished. It also allows for all his belongings to stay there instead of ending up at an auction house. That's just my opinion.

The more I watched her interviews, the more angry I am with Prince...why on earth did he not make a Will if he knew he was dying (for 2 years)....now all his well earned money goes to this Heartless sister of his...basically she doesn't give a damn how he died so long as he is dead. Oh she got a phone call for 1 second, not shocked or slumped to the floor with disbelieve (like most people would), instead "in her own word" - the news wasn't hard to take at all !! What the hell...especially he died suddenly in an elevator, not as if he had been ill in a hospital waiting to die for weeks! Everything she says here are so unbelievable and incredibly annoying to hear. I can almost imagine she probably jumped for joy and said good riddance now that he is dead, let me get my dirty hands into his money quickly.....she shocks me...yes she does

Becky, Tyka statements in this interview seem so cold to hear by Prince's friends/fans. Where was her public relations person or script writer before she spoke out on his passing it would have also been nice to hear from her the cause of his death that would have given me some closure but she says nothing but had 2 yrs knowing it as to happen because he had told her he's done everything he came to do then?
Fannie, I am devasted over his passingand I'm not even related or know him but Prince never had a close relationship with his family and eventhough Tyka may not had a script writer, I have decided to give her the benefit of the doubt that she may have been nervous being on camera for the reason she made those insensitive statements and she didn't mean the way it came across. I am really praying for Prince's family and that they do the right things by his estate.

I'm confused he won his master recordings after a 18 year battle right? So could that have meant he has done all he was sent to do? It's very disheartening that she knew he was going to die. The autospy report didn't say he had a terminal illnes or aids. So to think he lived a clean life up until he was ready to die is sad. Is that why he put his clothes on backwards and turned off his security cameras? I mean the doctor who sent his son to see Prince even though he was not licensed in the state of Minnesota, and the doctor that quit his job the day Prince died really have nothing to worry about. She saying he did this to himself and it does seem like she doesn't care. Yet, maybe preparing herself for this for two years she was also prepared for the heartless two word call. It really is sad that everything he fought for and worked so hard for has dwindle down to something like this.

In another interview Tyka did for Daily Mail she said she “was picking out new earrings and clothes to wear” for Prince’s funeral. Little did Tyka know it would be 3 years till Prince passed. From the time he told her “his work was done”. I don’t believe Prince told Tyka that. I don’t believe anything she says. And who goes out to buy things to make themselves look great for a siblings funeral?!! WHO DOES THAT?!! No one I know! Yeah. Sorry. I call BS on that and everything else she says. 🤨

In one interview on the Today Show...Tyka said she was taking Prince's death the hardest. Now in this interview on ET, she said it wasn't hard at all because Prince had stated 2 years before his death that he had done everything he'd come here to do. This is a glaring inconsistency. I pray that someone with ethics reopens this case and investigates his death. Something in the milk ain't white.

I don't think he faked his death to hurt anyone. He felt as if he was in slaved to the industry any true fab would understand why he faked his death. He died on pass over the day the Hebrews was freed from slavery. He was very religious. All the circumstances about his death have wholes in them and his sister or anyone for that fact never truly more his death on the fans in the world did but his close circle acted as if he was still alive.
