My favourite campervan layout in a Ford prototype : Vialla Grande

- This Ford campervan prototype has my favourite campervan layout with the bed in the ceiling. It has a large rear washroom and in front of that the kitchen. It has been manufactured by Mobil Tec of Bingen an Rhein and is likely to come at a cost approaching six figures.
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Dreamer, Itineo, Rapido, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Karmann Mobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Bocklet, Woelcke,Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Murvi, Bliss, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow, Holzmobil, Giotti Line, Florium, Fleurette, Ahorn, Westfalia, Space Camper, Orange Work, Concorde, Womondo, Protec, Auto Sleeper, Dethleffs, Ilusion, Gehocab, Malibu, Pilote, Wild Ax, Vantage, Bresler, Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik, Morelo, Swift, Carado and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

I love the bed location myself... super space saver! Awesome layout... I luv it...thanks!
You are so welcome!
I like it, Alan!
Ah finally, this is what I need to see for my van conversion.
Loving the layout
That step up would do my head in.
Personally I would find that bed a little claustrophobic with so little headroom but that's probably just me.
At 4:47 minutes into the film it seems that there has been a price of 64 390 Euros written on the windscreen at some earlier stage but then removed but still leaving enough to see the price.
Love the long table, so nice! The toilet outside door vents gases during use! Very good idea for the people inside. I like this layout a lot. Very nice. But the sink and stove suck. I would replace both immediately. Thanks for a nice tour, Alan!
Bet it’s not 25 euros , however one never knows. In my opinion the bathroom seems quite good. For what’s it worth the little plug seems quite effective even though simple. John. USA
Fun fact: getting rid of the bed it would be a wonderful mobile office...
I like the idea of downsizing from my motorhome to a larger campervan but would need something like this to have internal space for bikes.
Totally agree
Great idea with the bed. The seating looks a bit hard. That toilet and shower Is a great idea at the back with an escape route.
Alan, I luv ❤ the drop down bed ... I wish 🤞 it would have a long version like the LA Strata Version that gives tons of under ground storage and loads of storage cabinets... By the way they should put an extended higher Top so their is more head room for easy walk thru .. Great 👍 job like always Alan ... HUGS from America ... 🇺🇸 Marla
Thanks for watching Marla!
Lots of similarities to the 2000 Westfalia James Cook that we had but without the clever Westfalia bits like the top loading fridge, table storage, etc. I’ve often wondered why nobody had replicated the layout but this conversion goes to show that there is nothing truly new!
The shower in the rear is for washing off the nuclear fallout and decontaminating before you enter the main van, for when youve been scavengin the wasteland before heading back to your bunker....
As in Dr No?
@@VanlifewithAlan More like the Fallout game series
Really cool layout for a small campervan. Better than the usual type you see in the Hymer Grand Canyon and others. I like that the bench seat is a normal width (rather than 1.5 the width of a single seat but supposedly for two people) especially. A folding bed in the bottom would mean this works for a family of four. Great video!
Glad you like it!
Brilliant!
I most probably had of missed this one, I apologize. You still show awesome contents. I approve. Yes we need an insect net. Always a must. For any price over 100 Euros, or dollars must include an insect net. Why pay for it otherwise.
Always nice to hear from you Mo!
Agree that the bed needs more headroom.
I’d add some form of outside curtain and awning at the back to change, shower etc and put some restraint system and a bar to store and dry skis, boots and clothes in the shower area overnight.
I’d also lose the fwd facing seats as it only sleeps 2 and somehow try and get a Gararge in for bikes
The forward bench can be made into a bed too - at least that is the plan!
Bonjour Alan fantastique ce camping car 💪💪💪😀😀
Bon soir Elisabeth!
nice 👍
Lack of storage will be a problem unless they find a way to add a double floor like the Dexter 550.
As this camper would be used as a camper. just for the two of us, I would rather see the option of deleting the rear seats and having a slightly larger kitchen. Plus the bed needs to drop down a lot more, so you can actually get in it, instead of having to climb onto the top shelf of a bookcase. If it works out at £80,000 you would have to be joking.
will the extra windows in this van make it colder?
Yes, certainly!
they should add a window or vent next to the stove top, where the cubby is, still keep the cubby but have the window openable those vans are so small and without the stove next to the sliding door to let in fresh air there is no cross ventilation especially in cold weather you will have a lot of condensation hoping they have a diesel heater as well nice van thanks for sharing!
Yes, it is a diesel heater!
When will you review Hymervisionventure?
The Hymer Vision Venture is a one off project, only one was built and it is used as a show vehicle. However as you insist : ruclips.net/video/oboHPa0Pf-E/видео.html
I would buy one, our Sprinter camper van is too long.
Presumably it is the longest version?
The mattress is very thin, the space between bed and ceiling is low. Otherwise good design.
Its not bad but like you say because its a small company bit more exspensive👍👍
Come to think of it, by RV standards, it is medium sized company. They had a lot of converted cars to special purposes in their lot.
Alan, so ultimately what was your decision about that "loudmouth"? Will/did you post the video? 😁
Thank you for the great review as always! 💖
He is ex army, I did not know that when I did the Dreamer video. He might have PTSD. As an ex army person myself, I can't do that to him. However I won't destroy the video just in case I am mistaken!
@@VanlifewithAlan Makes sense, you have a big heart my friend.
Alan, that’s a 5 seater, not the usual 4
Mr Alan;
What is the price range?
It is a prototype so I don't know but I would expect it to be around EUR90k.
@@VanlifewithAlan It says 64,390€ in the windscreen!
Apart from that well done for showing this prototype with my favourite layout too Alan. A bit of a scoop from your part as I haven't seen it anywhere else!
Many blessings on you and your family ⭐️😇
That was something, and no Fiat. Kabe do camoervan of Mercedes
Hmm, looks like claustrophobia central in that bed 👎
