I use engine braking very often . I have been riding since couple of decades and rode around 7 motorcycle, never had any problem by engine braking. It is very necessary for safety.

    Main points :-
    1. braking distance will decrease(apply both engine braking and brakes)
    2. During downhills the engine braking helps to retard the vehicle which is very effective than brakes.
    3. Fuel consumption will decrease

    Hi, Syed
I own a Honda Xblade(BS-VI), it's clearly mentioned in the owners manual to use engine braking.Engine braking doesn't do premature wear on any of your motorcycle parts. The engine is designed to handle stresses much higher than that.

There are no disadvantages of engine breaking on an engine whether it's a car or a motorcycle unless you do "DOWNSHIFTS without proper "REVMATCHING." Once you master the art of Rev Matching while downshifting and upshifting(not always required) even if your vehicle has no ABS, it won't matter. Just make sure you drain your engine oil at the right time and do use a good grade.

Engine braking will affect chain and sprocket but keeps ur engine like new. Better to replace chain sprockets instead of repairing an engine. Doing engine braking from last 3 years on my ktm1290 and even today my engine is smooth and powerful just like brand new. Replaced chain sprocket after 2 years.

    Hello everyone
I'm using engine breaking since 4/5 months and it's just a wonderful way of breaking as I'm getting better on engine breaking it feels like ABS and I've learned if I want to control my engine breaking power I just need to control pressure applied on Clutch I mean downshift and a slight pressure on Clutch can improve your engine breaking skills

  • @rayparthapratim
    @rayparthapratim Год назад +5

What I do is when there is traffic ahead I close the throttle and use the natural engine braking without downshifting and when I feel that the gear is too high for the speed then I pull in the clutch and let the bike roll then apply brakes to stop. This way I can avoid the adverse effects of aggresive downshifting while saving fuel too

Please suggest reason and solution for my motorcycle Bajaj XCD 125. When I release throttle immediately after taking acceleration in slow speed in low gear i.e 2nd gear, I feel jerk. Similarly, if I want to accelerate in 2nd or 3 rd gear suddenly, a tik tik sound comes from engine and vanishes when it gains speed.

what do you think of piston or piston ring and Volve timing and engine stress. and also in moto gp race using front brake 60%, engine brake 30%, rear brake 10%, they also replaced engine evry 3000 km why ? they cannot use engine up to 10.000 km.
They use 5 engine in one season.
And they also using slipper clutch. ok
    You can do engine braking
    But you don't shifts aggressive
    Like 6 to 3 on ( 200 ) cc bike.
( You can do over 300 cc bike) because they much more refined.

I m From Pakistan...brother my personal experience is that motorcycle ki enjion braking say clutch plates bhot jaldi kharaab ho jaati hen, even k small gear men bhot ziada speed per bike chalaanay see bhi clutch plates bhot jaldi kharaab ho jaati hen.
Taa ham apki sab videos men bhot shok see dekhta hon bhot informative hoti hen, ap bhot mufeed maloomaat detay hen.
However, enjion braking in big cc bikes may bhi having no issue at all, no experience but big cc bikes men clutch box heavy duty lagga hota hay ic liey nuksaan nhi hota ho ga but jic bike men 2, 4, 5 clutch plates hon to enjion breaking nuksaan deh hy small cc bikes k liey
