I wasn't a 49er fan but Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig (who I took after when I played ball), Joe, Rice, Rathman, Taylor, and that's just the the tip.
    That team was special.

I met Ronnie Lott at 49ers training camp in 1988. I was 13 years old and asked for his autograph and then I told him I wanted to be a Safety just like him. He replied “you gotta hit ‘em!. You gotta hit them hard!!”

I watched that Superbowl and remember that hit. Ronnie was a one man wrecking crew. I hated the 49ers but I "Respected" Ronnie A-Lott!

it's stunning how ronnie lott could hit like that, and how he isn't in a bed somewhere waiting to die. his knowledge of the game was his real secret, he knew where to be and that's half the battle right there, icky didn't see him until it was over.

Lott was an abosolute beast on the field, one of the hardest hitters in NFL history. When the 49ers practiced at Sierra College near Sacramento CA, we had a chance to meet a number of 49ers back then. One was Joe Montana at a club, Keena Turner, same thing, a club, and of course Ronnie Lott. My buddy and I were both Cowboys fans, we see Lott standing by himself at this club, we walk up to him and asked him his thoughts on the Cowboys, he simply states, 'the Cowboys suck'. lol As teenagers, if I remember right, we both kept a stoic face, but looking back on it, it's funny as hell now. lol Ronnie Lott was no joke, dude hit and hit hard.

. Running back Icky Woods and his icky shuffle touchdown celebration dance was all the rage that season. In that Super Bowl Icky Woods stats 20 attempts for 79 yards rushing total for no touchdowns and no Icky shuffles.
