I’ve never heard an interview with another nba player, coach , friend etc. who has a bad word to say about Dennis. His story of not playing basketball until relatively late in life. Then to accomplish what he did is inspiring. When I was young and watched him play, especially his off court antics. I always assumed he was a jerk. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Never judge a book by its cover is so true.

I never knew that Dennis had had a hard childhood such as this. I can't imagine having a mother who never told me that she loved me,l think it would have been so difficult. I wasn't a fan of his because he was a Laker whereas l was a 6ers fan. My heart cries out for him as to never judge a book ever again.I give much respect to him for his inner strength to be the best at his craft.

@sirmi9868 Maybe so, Dennis knew his role wasn't to score but to defend and grab rebounds. That's why Charles Barkley doesn't have any defense titles.

I fking LOVE Rodman so much, discovered him as a kid because he colored his hair playing with SA.
Then freaked out and was angry that this 'degenerate' joined 'MY team' The Bulls to fuck up the chemistry, just like how other Chicago fans felt at the time.
But he immediately risen higher to become the defensive BEAST and passer that he is, and finally got the recognition from the international community that he deserves, and the Bulls fans fell in love with him immediately after because he delivered every.single.night!
During school Reading Session period, i purchased his book and read it fascinatingly from cover-to-cover, it opened up a whole new world to me.
He's in so much unhealed pain, and used alcohol & drugs to cope. He needs lifetime professional therapy. Because you can just tell he has still so much to give to people and accomplish new dreams.

I've always been a huge fan of Dennis. I was fortunate enough to have been a teenager to watch him play with Detroit. I actually was rooting for him against those bulls teams. What a lightning rod he was. I really enjoyed this candid conversation. I'm currently dealing with a health issue. The keep your head up comment gave me some new found drive. Great stuff. Much love from Houston Tx

Crazy. Emotional video. You can still see alot of genuine, pure humbleness in rodman. I feel for him that he didn't have a father figure in his life, which would have so much difference. You can also see that he really has a heart, that he likes doing good.
I remember watching him not long after i graduated high school and all the negative press on him. And i admit, i thought he was crazy and had a negative view of him as a personality. Then you start seeing little pieces of info about him later and it puts it more into perspective.
I have become a rodman fan.
