    What speed do you run buffer 5000?

    • @DCSuperShine
      @DCSuperShine  2 года назад

      6000 rpm for most applications 3500 for some and tight spots… 1800-2600 rpm for finishing

    Dennis I have a question for you. I notice you take your time cutting and it looks like you apply heavy pressure however it looks amazing…that being said will building up that kind of heat keave burn marks in your cut? Or can I take my time cutting slow but surely and not leave burn lines? And my second question is do you wipe off any residue between stages? If so what do you use? last question. From your experience what would be the quickest, easiest way to get the black residue out of welds without ruining your shine? Any advice would be useful and very much appreciated. Thanks!

      I apply roughly about 15lbs of pressure basically the weight of the grinder. Burn marks are mainly cause by number one low quality compounds, and second lack of compound. So this is why I stress in using quality products! I apply less product, more often creating a more even shine. With this no burn marks :)
      As for black residue, I mix varsol (mineral spirits) with my metal polish. You can either go this in a bottle 25% to 75% product, or like me I just put some on my rag with my polish. Hope this helps

    Good work Dennis.....ant advice you can show in a video of how not to get sucked into the holes in the steers and drives when polishing? Also proper handling/holding of the grinder? i.e like the screw on handle....pros cons on either side?

      Greg Beksel best and only too you should need is......always have the wheel spinning out from the edge not into the piece.....your always trying too hold the polisher too make that happen as much as possible, an of course what ever is comfortable too you

      +Greg Beksel ynot, is right it's basically what's comfortable to you. I've come to learn how to use the grinder both ways and I do certain things with the handle on either side I've just gotten use to that over the years. But yes doing the wholes in the rims is on my list of videos to do.

    Dennis, I notice you take your time getting out every last imperfection and I also noticed you use moderate to heavy pressure which looks amazing Im not one to critique, however my question is will that ever cause burn marks or lines? I’m having issues where it looks amazing with the LEDS pointing away but when you get up close at certain angles you can see the white zebra stripes. It’s driving me crazy because I sand mainly using the DA 320,400,600 and then cut using orange/brown then even cut again with yellows/ brown but it’s when I color I see the lines shining through. Is it my cut that burned into the metal? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

      Burn marks/zebra lines have nothing to do with pressure… it’s all about compound! So first question is what brand are you using? Higher quality brands can handle the heat. And are you applying less more often? This allows the compound to do the work, applying a little compound more often ( every 2-3 passes) you’ll get a more even shine and not allow for product break down which 9/10 times is the cause for burn marks. Hope this made sense. :)

    So my dad has a 16 389 class and pride and the finish was never all that great from the factory and for awhile he was doing mostly live floor and dump trailer work and most of those places to load and unload make it impossible to keep it clean for very long but latley hes been doing mostly flat bed stuff so weve been cleaning it back up to perfect again. I decided most places needed to be sanded and started with a fuel tank. I sanded one of the faces thats between the def tank so if it didnt come out that great I could hide it, and luckily it worked because where i didnt sand seemed to come out better? It seemed to be kind of blotchy and just not that great..I did the back section without sanding it and only used the yellow pad with brown bar and seemed to have gotten a better finish...it just didnt come out like yours did and I dont understand why? It didnt even seem to sand all that well...I used 320, 500, then 800. I didnt go any further because i thought maybe I was missing something an just having a brain dead moment..I even cleaned it really well with acid first. I used the smaller dewalt that isnt variable speed because I thought the 11,000 rpm would be benafital? I was using an 8 or 9 inch wheel. I would appriciate any advice you can give me! His old truck was hit and when we put it back together we used a set of used air tanks that were on a truck that had a couple million on it and wasnt taken care of at all, and I used acid, a white wheel and liquid polish and that came out amazing so i just dont understand what im missing. Thank you in advance! I've watched several of your videos over the past year or so and will respect your advice. might be easier to email me at punk444@gmail
